Timely Delivery and Accountability The project extended well beyond the original timeline with no fixed handover date. Despite full payment, the team attempted to close the project while critical modules remained incomplete. A more structured delivery plan with milestone-based accountability would have ensured better outcomes. 3. Client-Centric Communication Communication became increasingly defensive and transactional over time. Instead of collaborating to resolve usability issues, the team focused on justifying why they wouldn’t address them. A more empathetic, solution-oriented approach would have preserved trust and avoided escalation. 4. Understanding of Industry Standards Several requests — such as patient ID handling, privacy controls, and document uploads — were treated as optional, when in fact they are non-negotiable in healthcare software. A stronger understanding of clinical workflows and regulatory expectations would have improved product quality and alignment. 5. Post-Delivery Support The offer of knowledge transfer (KT) was appreciated, but it came with pressure to accept an incomplete product. Ateam could have offered a structured support period to resolve outstanding issues before handover.

This engagement involved building a complex, custom telehealth Practice Management System plus two clinic websites, with significant scope expansion over time. Throughout the project, we worked in sprints, provided regular walkthroughs, maintained a detailed bug/change log, and delivered multiple working modules that the client has described here (RBAC, consent workflows, medicine reorder flows, payment integrations, website revamps, etc.).
Where we fundamentally differ is on what was in scope, what constituted new features and refinements, and how far beyond the original budget and timeline a vendor can reasonably be expected to continue absorbing additional work. Many of the items now described as “essential” were introduced well after the initial specification, and we repeatedly attempted to separate genuine defects (which we fixed at our own cost) from new requirements.
This matter is now the subject of a formal legal dispute in Australia, where we are actively defending our work and our reputation. Because of that, we cannot comment on every allegation here or publish all project communications, but we are confident in the quality and integrity of our team’s efforts.

I was most impressed with the fact that aTeam would create basic wireframes during the initial scoping and quoting conversations. This helped reassure me and my team that we were hiring someone who has a solid grasp of our vision for the project.

I think the main area of improvement is how QA and testing was done and its impact on our timeline. aTeam was good about delivering milestone deliverables on schedule, but there were often issues that would arise in our own testing that were not caught earlier in their testing, which would create additional work. They did stick with the project and continued to fix any issues that came up. As a result, there was a tail end of the project which extended beyond the original milestone delivery timeline to debug and address issues. I think impacts to our timeline could have been minimized if their testing had been more thorough and tailored to the user experience, and if expectations were made clearer at the beginning that, after the final milestone was delivered, there would still be an additional debugging period.

The project began with the creation of a detailed, clickable prototype in Figma. This prototype was crucial for visualizing the user interface and experience, which ensured that all stakeholders had a clear understanding of the expected functionalities before the development phase commenced.
Onsite Collaboration:
I spent over two months in India working directly with the Ateam Software Solutions team. This intensive collaboration period helped align our goals, streamline the communication process, and facilitated a deep understanding of the project requirements and nuances, ensuring that the development aligned perfectly with our strategic objectives.
Comprehensive Web Application:
Following the prototype phase, the team successfully coded the web application, which consists of several key components:

The platform was launched successfully, although a bit later then planned, and was also designed with scalability in mind. This allows for future expansions and upgrades without significant overhauls, ensuring long-term sustainability and adaptability in a dynamic business environment.
Security and Compliance: Given the comprehensive nature of the platform, particular attention was paid to ensuring that all components are secure and compliant with relevant regulations and standards, protecting both user data and corporate integrity.

Initially i worked with them in the office so we had very direct communication and personally i found it easier to work face-to-face and make design changes right away. After the prototype phase i left India and they continued the coding. Communication mostly went through Skype chat and calls. It worked out fine. Respons has always been fast. The project delivery has been a few months later then planned but i do have to say we have build a very large application with lots of functionalities and therefore lots of coding.

I would appreciate more comprehensive application documentation to enhance effective issue resolution. Additionally, more accurate delivery estimates would be beneficial.
