I’m the CTO of a healthcare systems company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Architech?

We needed to build an SDK that would interface with one of our core technologies.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Architech built an SDK that allowed us to embed our technology into our clients’ native mobile applications. The team started by understanding the scope of the project and what we were trying to achieve. They then learned how our solution worked, its capabilities, and how data interfaced with it.

Architech also learned about the infrastructure we deployed on and how the SDK supported it. The team then updated and maintained the SDK. Throughout the process, they tested the product and provided updates, taking feedback based on our preferences.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two mobile developers, a QA engineer, a project manager, and a UX/UI engineer.

How did you come to work with Architech?

I met Architech at a Young Presidents’ Organization event. Their knowledge and experience in delivering enterprise-grade, mission-critical mobile app development capabilities were very critical in choosing them. We operate in a highly regulated and sensitive space, so quality and stability mattered. The confidence that Architech projected in their ability to deploy enterprise-grade services was also very critical for us.

We spent around $70,000 CAD.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2023–April 2024.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Architech helped us release a product we couldn't have built internally. We would've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars building it. We didn't have the knowledge or expertise, so we would've had to hire more people to build additional functionality and capabilities. Overall, they helped us save around $250,000 CAD.

Maintaining a happy client and contract was also important. This was an important strategic initiative for us, and the cost savings were important. However, strategically, maintaining a good relationship with our clients was the most important thing for us.

How did Architech perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication was fantastic throughout the entire process. They delivered on time and within budget. For context, it was our first time engaging with a team like Architech, so there were growing pains on both sides. However, that wasn't a knock on them.

At the executive level, we used email and video conferences to communicate. At the team level, Architech used Jira as their project management interface.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Architech brought a level of knowledge and expertise to the entire end-to-end process. For organizations looking to get a really high-quality product, Architech can be hands-off. We had a lot of confidence that they had all the resources to get the product from initiation to completion and eventually off-boarded into a support model.

We'd worked with some younger organizations before, and they could only handle part of the process. As a result, a bulk of the effort had to be on the parent organization hiring them. They had to do a lot of the project management, design, and release. Architech, on the other hand, had the resources to handle the entire end-to-end process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The overall attention to some minor details regarding the UX could have been improved. The UX designers were there, but the experience wasn't as crisp, tight, and seamless. Before the product came to me, it could've been looked at more by the developer, designer, and QA. There were a couple of bugs, so they could tighten that up a little bit.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ultimately, clients have to own the final product. Architech can only be as productive and helpful if you have the corresponding internal support to take the product after they deliver it to you. Make sure you can do the QA and on-demand support. If you don’t have the internal resources to do it, then plan to make sure Architech is going to be doing that for you on an ongoing basis.

Well defined KPIs in uptime, number of transactions supported, number of active/enrolled customers, number of defect fixes applied, delivery timelines

Yes, we have worked with this team for the last 5 yrs+. They delivered the sprints on time, well defined scope, the velocity of the team is great, the manage the deployement and post launch support. Always working with Telus and when a gap is identified this team steps up and works with us to fill the gap.
