Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Create an authentic behind the scenes video of the ceramic making process of our handmade ceramic wall lights. I wanted to show my audience that there is a human aspect and personal touch for every single one of our products that get made. Key deliverables was to create a short film 3-4 minutes long showing the making process from start to finish, create 5 smaller 10 second clips that show segments of the process for social media.

• Overall the brand awareness for my company has gone up, one goal was to showcase where I was based and for my audience to understand the long and personal process that was involved in making my wall lights. Feedback has been excellent. My website and overall brand identity is now very professional.

I am a founding partner of 313RGB, a business specialising in working with cultural and commercial clients in immersive experiential design.

Angus Ashton Film has collaborated with 313RGB, on the post-production and editing of many of our projects over the past decade. Our goal was to create a promotional tool for 313RGB for future collaboration with clients in a cultural and arts area.

313RGB having worked with Angus Ashton Film on numerous projects, we have an understanding in what our business requires — from both a end result & working through any issues during the production process.

313RGB originally began the edit to demonstrate to Angus Ashton Film the visual direction we were looking to achieve from the edit. From there Angus Ashton Film went ahead and edited the promo together based on the brief given, to a satisfactory result.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

Working with Angus on the feedback process is streamlined using Frame.io, this makes the process easier to communicate what changes need to be made to achieve the final result. We also had two sessions via Zoom to finalise small changes to the edit.

The project is still to be published, this is currently seeking approval from the artist involved.

Angus Ashton Film achieves results within the timeline and budget allowed for the project. Angus Ashton Film always follows up and delivers what is expected from our business engagements.

Angus Ashton Film has a great eye when editing work for us, and is agile with the turnaround and feedback of work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were a few minor delays with scheduling but these were sorted quickly and did not impact the final result.

The Hutchins School is a K-12 independent school based in Hobart, Tasmania. We have approximately 1080 students and have been around for 176 years! My position is Director of Advancement and Alumni Engagement.

We have engaged Angus Ashton Films on a number of occasions in recent years. We specific utilise their film production and editing services. Our goals have included driving traffic to our website and meeting fundraising targets.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have worked with Angus Ashton Films due to their professionalism and outstanding reputation. They always go above and beyond and are very competitive from a cost perspectives. Despite our short timelines and often demanding expectations, they always deliver!

We have collaborated 5 or 6 times on video projects. We have utilised Angus Ashton Films for 2 of our 24-hour giving days, produced a gifts-in-wills video as well a couple videos for our capital campaign. Steps include collaboration on concept, through story-boarding, production (including lighting and audio), through to final edit and accompanying music.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I have personally worked most directly with Angus Ashton, the man himself! He has a small team of technicians in the background that he calls on as required. We generally debrief following any collaboration and feedback is always invited. I would describe the end-to-end process as seamless!

We have recently exceeded our campaign target ($12.5M) and this is due in no small part to Angus Ashton Films. I will very happily continue to engage them.

Angus Ashton Films utilise best-of-breed technology and equipment. Communication tools include email, telephone, zoom and frame.io as their primary collaboration tool. I'm sure there's others as well! I could not fault their responsiveness. They are punctual and professional at all times.

They have taken the time and made the effort to understand our needs. I would describe our relationship as a true partnership.

That would be like telling Cam Smith to brush up on his putting.

I provide executive support for a statutory body. The Council has its own website and members determined they would like a welcome to their website in video format.

For what projects/services did your company hire Angus Ashton Film, and what were your goals?

We required an on-location shoot with a feature of cultural significance to Tasmanian Aboriginal people visible in shot. In this case, we chose kunanyi/Mt Wellington and shot on location on the eastern shore, looking back across the Derwent River to kunanyi.

We were shooting with a Council member, so an amateur in terms of performance to camera, and also required a teleprompter for her usage, in both English and palawa kani, the reconstructed language of the Tasmanian Aboriginal people.

Weather, light and location were all challenges for the cameraman but he was very professional and the resulting product is very good.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The Department i work for has a list of preapproved videographers; I sent out request to five seeking a quotation. Angus Ashton provided excellent value for money and examples of their previous work made it clear it as of high quality.

Our project progressed mainly via email with Angus, who is in Victoria (we are in Hobart). We discussed timing, location, script, aims for the video and finally shot it in mid-October, avoiding a period of terrible weather. We then worked with Angus to develop the final product, incorporating subtitles for accessibility as well as a series of still shots of members and sites of cultural significance.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked primarily with Angus himself, and on the day, Dan the cameraman. Both were excellent and Angus was always available to provide advice or to tweak the product as required.

Feedback on the video from Council members and colleagues has been very positive.

They were really great to work with and easy to communicate with. we received very timely responses to all communications.

We had not undertaken a project like this before and were working with non-professionals in terms of on camera work, so having Angus guide and advise us was great.

A stunning filmic story. Beautifully shot and edited. Great sound mixing to the edit. Makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck when watching. A very professional result.

Angus' ability to make the seemingly average scene look incredible. His professionalism throughout the project was outstanding.
