I’m the senior director of creative strategy for the First Amendment Coalition. We’re a nonprofit law firm that represents people whose First Amendment rights have been tread upon. I work in the marketing area, coming up with strategies and messaging for our cases and fundraising efforts to connect with our donors and supporters.

What was the scope of their involvement?
For our most recent project, we had a two-minute video. We already had a storyboard and a script, so we met with 31,000 FT Advertising. We got other bids, and their proposal was better and worked out a lot better for our budget.
Dean, the founder and executive creative director, put together a crew and got the location ready. He did a lot of preparation to make the location look right. Carter, the founder and executive producer, served as a producer and overseer. He managed the budget and time. We shot the video over two days.
After that, we edited the video in-house. 31,000 FT Advertising checked in to see how the edit was going. They wanted to see the results. They stayed in touch throughout the whole project and even beyond.
They helped bring the script to life. The live-action video was shot using their own equipment and space. We posted the video on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and our website. We also showed it at live events.

31,000 FT Advertising was really good at concepting and coming up with ideas. They took our script and storyboard and made them even better through creative suggestions and contributions. The team provided a good price for the work we needed to get done.
The video got roughly 150,000 views on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. That’s 150,000 people who now know about our initiative. It’s hard to connect an exact dollar amount that we’ve gotten back, but I feel safe in saying we more than made back our $11,000 investment.
People really liked the video. It explained the project with a lot of clarity. People were fuzzy before the video came out, but it really got people excited about it. We got a really good response.
How did 31,000 FT Advertising perform from a project management standpoint?
They met deadlines and came in a little bit under budget, which was exciting. We’re a nonprofit, so we have to be very careful about stewarding our money. We don’t have mountains of money because we’re a nonprofit. 31,000 FT Advertising was very mindful of cost. They knew how to cut costs where it needed to be. The money we did spend came through on screen with high production value. They knew where to put the money we had.

It’s small potatoes in the world of video production, but 31,000 FT Advertising gave it their all. I know they didn’t make a mountain of money on it, but they worked really hard for several days. The final project came out great.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on. Everything was very efficient and well-planned. They were always thinking about how to make each scene the best it could be. When the final project was done, we showed them the rough cut. They had feedback on that after the production was over. They kept their enthusiasm for the project even after their part was done.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Trust them to know what they’re doing. You don’t have to second-guess them. They’re very experienced and knowledgeable about the field. They understand all the disciplines it takes to create a video, including lighting, sound, acting, writing, and casting. They’re really good at putting them all together. Trust their judgment.
