When we met for the first time, we went through a conversation that felt more like an interview, as they were trying to study my brand and give me the right solution.

I already had the concept for a very simple branding with a normal yet modern logo. Therefore, their team created a few samples relevant to what I wanted. Out of those options, I was able to make a good decision for my brand.

In addition to designing my logo, 152Co. has also designed the box packaging for our perfume bottles. Moreover, they've done a bit of marketing work for me. For example, they've kept bottles of our perfume in their offices so that they can offer them to their other clients as well.

We've been working together since March 2024. We had been in contact with 152Co. prior to that, but starting this project took us some time. Finally, things came to reality, and our project was possible.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The results of this project are very good — 152Co. has delivered what I wanted and enhanced my brand. People love our new packaging, as it places our perfume in the luxury perfume category. Therefore, customers look forward to buying it as a gifting option.

For less than ₹3,000 (approximately $40 USD), our customers can get a luxury product for gifting. This speaks volumes about the good-quality packaging and simple design. The quality of our perfume fits the new branding. As mentioned, we've been in business for 10 years, so customers already know us for our quality. Thanks to our new branding, they're now also selecting us as a gifting option.

In fact, we have multiple retail outlets, and we display this new packaging at the entrance. I've seen people walking into our stores after seeing this packaging, so I know that they just love it.

152Co.'s project management is mind-blowing, and they're really good at what they do. They always know what they need to do, and the path is very clear for them, so they're always able to provide what the client needs. We've communicated via Zoom and met personally in our offices in India.

Ibrahim has guided and helped me through every step of the process. He has even helped me refine our perfume bottle to suit our new branding and box packaging.

I manage the entire content for an organization in the enterprise productivity space. We offer solutions to enterprises and medium-sized businesses to improve their productivity. As content manager, I'm in charge of everything related to social media, marketing collateral, sales enablement, and internet content. My official role is senior manager of the growth and demand distribution team.

We have an internal designer, but they're usually very occupied with everything that goes on — they have to design a lot of collateral. Therefore, we've reached out to 152Co. to help us out.

What was the scope of their involvement?

152Co. helps us with everything related to design. For example, if we need to launch a case study, we provide them with the content, and they turn it into a palatable marketing document that our sales team can use. Still, that's just one example of what they do; they do a lot of other designs as well.

Other designs have included standees and booths for events, brochures, banners, and similar collateral. For every design, we provide 152Co. with the content, tell them about our needs, and give them the dimensions of the final asset. Their designs include both marketing and internal collateral. Thus, they've also created PowerPoint presentations.

Our design requests for 152Co. depend on our needs. We might have events, require some training content, or need to launch a case study. Whatever the need is, we provide them with text-based content, and they create the designs following our brand guidelines.

152Co. understands our needs for every different design piece. If we need a brochure, they know that it needs to be catchy and include appealing imagery and content. If, on the other hand, we need a training document, they know that we don't need it to be fancy; we need it to be useful.

Our internal designer is currently in charge of creating content for Facebook and LinkedIn, so we don't use 152Co. for social media posting. Still, if there's a need, I'm sure that I could reach out to them, and they would do it.

What is the team composition?

I work with Riyaz (Visual Designer) and Surojit (Graphic Visualizer). Riyaz manages the project, and Surojit acts as the lead designer. However, both step up when needed. For example, if Surojit is not available, Riyaz helps us since he's also a designer.

How did you come to work with 152Co.?

There's a company called IndieFolio that acts as an intermediary between clients and service providers. For some time, we outsourced our design work from them, for which they provided us with a freelance designer. However, we wanted to explore other options, so they introduced us to 152Co. and other companies. I reviewed 152Co.'s past work and portfolio and really liked it. Our marketing head also liked their work, so we hired them.

We spend around $900 per month.

We began working with them in November 2023, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It's been great that we've retained 152Co., especially after letting some other individuals go. Organizations like them want to do good work, are willing to accept feedback, and don't ask a lot of questions, which is why we've kept working with them. For example, our brand guidelines have changed, and 152Co. has taken that into consideration, which has been great.

Moreover, there's always someone from 152Co. who keeps engaging with us. If someone isn't available, there's always a backup. This element was something missing when working with individual designers, so our engagement with 152Co. works very well for us. Our requirements are very dynamic, and there's always something happening.

Our reviews of their work also take a long time because it's hard to get reviews from our leadership. Still, 152Co. has been patient, and they know what they're doing. I imagine it isn't easy to adapt to an organization's preferences, especially with so many people involved.

Design is very subjective, so everyone has their own taste when it comes to it. Some of our stakeholders like different collateral designs than others. However, 152Co. takes all their opinions into consideration. I think of them as an extension of my team. They know who likes what, and they always work towards it.

How did 152Co. perform from a project management standpoint?

We've had delays in our timelines, but those are usually not up to 152Co. Sometimes, there are delays in our review process. Still, whenever there's a delay, they keep me in the loop.

We communicate via email and have occasional phone calls if needed. Initially, we had daily meetings, but we don't need them anymore because we don't need to review their work from a design perspective anymore. We've gotten to a point where we trust them, so we know their designs are good. I simply share requirements via email, and they use ClickUp to keep track of all the requests. We also communicate via text messages.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I would like to give a shout-out to both Riyaz and Surojit. Something I want to highlight about them is that they both took some time to understand our design preferences. Our content is very serious and very professional because we're not a B2C company, so we don't need it to be simple and flashy. Still, we want our designs to be catchy enough for enterprise customers to pay attention to them.

Therefore, Riyaz and Surojit initially took some time to understand our preferences, and they adapted really well to our design language and brand identity. Moreover, they're very open to feedback. There have been times when we have had multiple iterations and reviews, so we've redesigned and redeveloped a single document more than once. Still, they're very open to that. I've never had an instance when they were closed to changes or tried to push their design ideas.

Overall, we've had a good relationship. We've been working with them for about a year, and we've had a great experience.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really appreciate that 152Co. communicates well and keeps us posted, which I missed when working with other designers. Whenever there are delays, they communicate them, and if they have questions, they ask.

A lot of designers don't think about what they do and what's the objective. In our case, having clarity about the objective is very important. We handle a lot of content, so 152Co. needs to know our audience and business objectives. Still, they're very curious about our business, so they constantly ask me what their designs will solve for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be awesome if 152Co. came up with suggestions or best practices based on other similar engagements they've had. We do our own thing, and it seems to be working, but I would like to have other perspectives and discover things that maybe we don't do.

152Co. has exposure to multiple organizations, so some of them must be in the SaaS and B2B spaces. Although they're very open to feedback, I always provide feedback from my own experience and preferences. I would love to have insight into what other companies are doing.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I definitely recommend working with 152Co. Spend some time initially to talk about your expectations and prepare them to go for it. Knowing your preferences isn't something that happens overnight; it's something that they have to learn and relearn. However, if you spend time with them initially, everything will be easier later.

Additionally, discuss your timelines and clearly define the scope of the engagement. Given that I'm not a designer, I don't know how much time it takes to create designs. Still, aligning expectations happened much later in our engagement; we should have done it sooner. For example, I didn't know how many hours it took to make brochures. Coming from a place of ignorance, I thought it required about 30 minutes.

Initially, I expected a lot more out of them. Therefore, if you spend time discussing timelines, everything will be much easier later on.

152Co. has helped us design a lot of digital materials, including PDFs, ebooks, case studies, social media images, and social media carousels. Largely, their work revolves around digital-based designs, either long format or image-based. Still, the team has also helped us with event design, which has included designing our booths. For event design, 152Co. collaborates with an external provider to print all their designs.

For every project, we provide 152Co. an idea of what we want to do, brief them on the project, tell them the purpose of the collateral needed, and tell them about the direction we want to go in. We also have brand guidelines, which they have to follow. Depending on the design needed, 152Co. has a certain level of creative freedom. Once they finish the design, they come back to us.

They usually get back to us very quickly, and we already have multiple projects going on. In addition to WhatsApp, we also communicate via virtual meetings. Although we're on Microsoft Teams, they usually prefer Google Meet. Moreover, we use phone calls and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everyone from 152Co. has done a great job for us. In a design sense, their work is very good. They're very prompt in getting back to us, and their work is quick, although it's not super fast because design work usually takes time.

We've done a lot of work with 152Co., so the team is able to match our style. Still, I'm sure that the team is capable of matching everyone's design style. Overall, I find them very prompt, easy to work with, and communicative, and they deliver good designs in the first or second rounds. They're a young team much more affordable than a boutique agency, so they provide great value for the money.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything 152Co. could improve on because we work within certain parameters. If anything, improvement areas come down to the skills of the individual designers regarding their scope and vision for the work they should do. Although there isn't an improvement plan in place regarding our objectives, the skills of every individual keep improving over time.
