What challenge were you trying to address with 10Clouds?

We wanted to develop a new platform and needed to replace our internal development resources with an outsourced development firm.

10Clouds has provided us with custom software development services. They’ve helped us design and develop the back- and frontend of our new NFT platform from scratch. We’ve used a combination of JavaScript, Python, and Solidity development to create a community-building platform for musicians.

We’ve worked with roughly eight team members, including a project manager, account manager, two backend developers, a frontend developer, a UI/UX designer, and a Q&A developer.

We were searching for development partners online and came across 10Clouds. After our initial meetings, 10Clouds seemed to be the best fit for our needs, so we moved forward with the engagement.

We began working with 10Clouds in May 2022 and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We haven’t launched yet, so we can’t share any definitive metrics, but working with 10Clouds has been a pleasure. They’ve created a simple, good-looking product with a thoughtful, intuitive flow. We’ve received fantastic reviews so far. 

How did 10Clouds perform from a project management standpoint?

10Clouds has managed the project well and communicated clearly via Slack and Google Meet. They’ve assigned a strong, responsive team to our project. They’ve implemented feedback and accommodated our needs when we’ve changed the project's direction. We’ve used GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and Miro to manage tasks and Figma to share designs. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve been most impressed by their design work and expertise with UI/UX. They’ve done a great job designing the platform, and we’re excited to launch the product. Overall, we’ve had a fantastic experience, and we’ve really enjoyed working with them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since we haven’t rolled out the platform yet, it’s hard to say what 10Clouds could improve on. We don’t have any constructive feedback thus far. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I advise potential customers based in the US to consider the time difference and ensure you’re comfortable working with a remote team. Our partnership with 10Clouds has required a lot of communication and coordination, but it’s worked out well, so just be prepared for that.

LevelField is building a Digital Asset Focused Investment Platform with a Full-Service US Chartered Bank at its foundation to bring Digital Assets and Traditional Finance together. I am the Head of Retail Platforms at LevelField Financial, where I work on product management.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I looked for the highest quality design team that was located outside the United States. I shopped 30 teams, and 10 Clouds blew me away. I looked at their website, dribble, and behance. Their team, animations, awards, and previous work sold me.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After showing the team what LevelField is about, our brand, etc, we started development on both the website and the desktop platform simultaneously. 10 Clouds worked with us to improve, tweak, and redesign all aspects of the look/feel of what we are building. They worked with us on website animations, as well as an animated video for marketing material. Their level of communication was superb, and made themselves available at inconvenient hours to work with us. 10 Clouds always showed us multiple variants along the way, and we would discuss things in detail initially to avoid redundant work.

We work with 4 people regularly, a project manager, a UX designer, and 2 UI designers. We scale up and down website developers to get up and running with updates.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

LevelField.us will showcase the website design work they did for us. It also shows images of our mobile app and desktop platform. Early October, you will be able to see the video 10 Clouds produced for us to sell one of our products to banks and credit unions by clicking News and filtering by Videos/Podcast.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We have regular meetings twice a week, one biweekly call with 10 Clouds management. The design team chats with us regularly on the app of our choice (Teams). We have impromptu calls with specific members as needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The communication and quick creative solution options The designers at 10 Clouds are genuinely excited about what we are doing. They understand what we are building well as if they were true LevelField employees.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

10Clouds has been great. We've been actively working to increase hours per week and to increase the team.

We wanted to create a very informative career platform for our people dedicated to engineering.

What was the scope of their involvement?

10Clouds did web design and development for us from scratch, which included a discovery workshop, the UI/UX design, development, and design animations.

To jumpstart the project, we provided some strategic input describing our goal, audience, marketing goals, and business goals regarding the entire campaign. We wanted the platform to be an axis of the whole employee-building process provided by our company. 

We're now working on the final touches and deployment. 

What is the team composition?

We've worked with around ten members of their team, including developers, a web designer, a UX designer, a product owner, a product designer, and testers. We had one point of contact on both the project and the business sides.

I've worked in the software development industry for years and know of their work — they're one of the most renowned software houses in Warsaw for me. We chose them because we wanted to work with a top-notch partner, and I admired their work.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We wanted to create a very sharp-looking and informative yet compact platform, which they accomplished based on the feedback from the candidates we're assessing.

How did 10Clouds perform from a project management standpoint?

We have regular weekly meetings to discuss the project status. They pay attention to proper communication, which is great because it makes them feel like partners rather than vendors. Regarding tools, we use Slack to communicate daily.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They pay attention to details and try to deliver the best results. They're also really flexible in terms of adjusting the budget to the quality and how to make the best things happen — I feel like they care about our project, which is great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had one or two situations where we had budget issues, and they didn't inform me ahead of time. We clarified things, though; other than that, I can't find anything else they need to improve.

Treat them like a partner and trust them.

What challenge were you trying to address with 10Clouds?

I wanted to build a product I came up with and needed someone to help me develop the necessary targets for architecture, the costs, and the time to make it happen.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

10Clouds did data reporting to us; they produced relevant documentation like the technicals of the final tech-stack, the costs of operating it, the timelines, and all the necessary technical and business requirements for the task. They composed all of that into one document so we could include it in future fundraising for this project.

Regarding the process, they organized several discovery sessions where we mapped out the entire customer journey to prioritize it and do an in-depth assessment of each relevant integration so we could engage with other stakeholders easily.

The project's goal was to create a report on anything existing in the future state of a potential product.

We worked with five members of their team, including a project manager, a DevOps, an architect, a UI/UX developer, and a business analyst.

How did you come to work with 10Clouds?

We found them through online research. I organized a call with the 10Clouds team, and we were impressed; they understood exactly what I was expecting and quickly built a proposal for me. On top of that, they had experience in the domain, so we chose them because they had the necessary knowledge and were in the same mindset as us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their level of detail in the reports was great and well written — it aligned to all the expectations and data points I needed, so I was satisfied with their work. On top of that, they also delivered a nice wireframe for me, which will be very useful in the future.

How did 10Clouds perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was great; we had weekly calls to update us on the project’s status and let us know what they’d deliver each week — they were pretty good.

Regarding tools, we use email, phone calls, and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were a multidisciplinary team; they had good ideas and quickly understood the product and what I was trying to do. 

Overall, their ability to assimilate information quickly and produce output was outstanding, combined with their easy-to-work-with approach.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve been more thorough in their project management; they were great, but I think they could’ve been more detailed.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about your expectations and what you want. You also need to ensure their output is aligned with those expectations. Also, it’s important to have open lines of communication to reiterate what you want — provide them with all the necessary information.

I’m the engineering director at Pollen, a technology company in the travel and experience event space. We partner with important artists and create multi-day experiences curated in partnership with those artists. These events revolve around those artists so that fans can get exclusive experiences with their idols.

Our team comprises about 80–90 people, including product engineers, designers, UI/UX engineers, and QA specialists. Most of our people are based in the UK, but we also have a few other engineers in Poland and other parts of Europe.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 10Clouds?

We were scaling up last year and needed more resources. During this growth, we needed to hire a lot of python backend engineers, but we found it incredibly challenging to hire resources as fast as we needed. Thus, we looked at other ways to scale up our teams and ultimately partnered up with 10Clouds.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

10Clouds provided us with Python engineers to augment our team. We wanted their resources to be part of our internal team instead of just getting development services, so we went into the staff augmentation model, which helped us integrate them into our team.

For our inventory team, 10Clouds provided us with 2–3 engineers to support our internal team on a merchandising project. This project was focused on theming the resorts and hotels for the events using a model, and their resources helped us with the backend development of that model. Then, their resources helped us build a stock-keeping unit service so that we could keep track of our inventory and see what we needed to buy.

10Clouds also helped us staff our fulfillment team with a backend engineer. They worked on our fulfillment service, the part of our product that accompanies the traveler when they travel with us. This service helps travelers customize their experience and buy add-ons, such as a VIP upgrade or a ticket to an exclusive party. That fulfillment service gathers all the data related to the traveler’s itinerary in one place.

Additionally, 10Clouds provided us with an engineer for our experience operations team. This person worked on the backend to build our access control system. This system ensures that people have access to the experience since they book with us. We provide them with a wristband they can scan using our software. This software then sends that information to our system’s backend to grant access to the client.

What is the team composition?

Tom (Senior Account Manager) was my main point of contact and the person whom I talked to whenever we needed more resources. Additionally, they provided us with Anna (Python Developer) for our fulfillment team, 2–3 backend engineers for our inventory team, and another engineer for our experience operations team.

How did you come to work with 10Clouds?

We looked at different options for agencies and did a lot of analysis before hiring a partner. One of our main criteria was finding a team with a lot of time overlapping our working hours because we wanted them to collaborate with us. We also looked at the companies’ rates to see if they were competitive in their prices. Additionally, we revisited the seniority levels of their resources to see what we could expect from them because we needed them to get up to speed as quickly as possible.

During this process, we had a good feeling about 10Clouds because 1–2 of our engineers had worked for them as consultant engineers in the past. This was a good signal for us because we value these engineers. Additionally, we seemed to be aligned with 10Clouds because we have other engineers working from Poland as well.

We spent around £200,000 (approximately $239,000 USD).

We worked together from June 2021–May 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

For every project, we have a code review process in place where engineers review each other's codes in a very collaborative manner. Additionally, we ask internal engineers for feedback on their collaboration with external partners. Working with 10Clouds, our internal engineers found them to be good self-starters, very knowledgeable, and very capable. Their resources integrated very well into our team, and they were very open to feedback. Overall, it was a very good experience.

How did 10Clouds perform from a project management standpoint?

10Clouds’ project management was very good. We didn’t need to check their performance because we weren’t assigning them tasks and deadlines; they were integrated into our processes. Thus, we had ongoing conversations with them. Additionally, we trusted 10Clouds to bring their ideas to the table, and they were very open about sharing what was in their minds.

We used Jira to manage the project; all of our work was tracked in there. We also used Slack as our main collaboration and communication tool. Furthermore, we used G Suite for email communication, calendar management, and online meeting hosting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

10Clouds was very responsive and communicative, especially on the account management side. I really appreciated their efforts in working in a fast-moving environment like ours. We were scaling fast and needed to deliver quickly. Still, 10Clouds was able to offer swift turnaround times for high-quality candidates.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Initially, we had to go through a calibration process, but those instances are normal when working with external agencies. In addition to that, it would have been great if 10Clouds had set the expectations upfront. One time, one of their engineers wanted to focus on a previous project, which felt strange because we had moved on from that project. Other times, it felt like our senior engineers were expected to mentor 10Clouds engineers, which was understandable to some degree but took away focus from their main projects.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear during the calibration process, set your expectations upfront, and be open to understanding that it requires a learning curve.

I’m the founder of Highfive Finance, an education startup focused on financial education. We’re building a mobile application that will make it easy for young professionals to educate themselves on financial topics.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 10Clouds?

We needed a company that could help us create a clickable prototype to use for our own product development roadmap.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started the engagement with a kickoff meeting, wherein we set expectations and requirements and discussed what we wanted the deliverables to look like. 10Clouds explained the different types of clickable prototypes, and we decided to opt for a mid-fidelity prototype based on our budget.

We also specified that we wanted to focus more on the design aspects and the look and feel of the product rather than on user testing or extensive wireframing, as we have already done some work on that ourselves. 10Cloud worked professionally with us on this and created a deliverable that was exactly what we wished for and even more.

10Clouds then worked on developing the prototype of a mobile application. They took the wireframe designs, which we sketched ourselves on Nero, and further elevated them. From there, their team completed the wireframe and transformed it into a visually-appealing clickable prototype using Figma.

We primarily worked with a success manager and two designers from 10Clouds.

How did you come to work with 10Clouds?

I met 10Clouds at a conference that I attended about a year ago. They had a presentation, which I thought looked very structured and professional. After doing some research and looking at their previous work and their designers on Dribble and other platforms, I approached them for an estimate and talked to them about our project. It became very clear that they would be the right company to work with, so we decided to go with them for this project.

We spent around $4,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on this project from April 2022–May 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any success metrics, but I can definitely say that all of the deliverables turned out exactly as we expected. They were also quick to implement requests and feedback from us. Overall, their work exceeded our expectations, and we're extremely happy with the results.

How did 10Clouds perform from a project management standpoint?

10Clouds performed well in terms of project management. All of the requirements and deadlines were met. In terms of their communication, we never felt alone because they always responded quickly and professionally to our concerns.

We primarily communicated through Slack and email, but we also had weekly meetings through Google Hangouts. We also used Mural to conduct our workshops and collaboratively worked in Nero.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was extremely happy with the people that worked with us. They were very friendly, communicative, flexible, and accommodating of all our requests. They always made us feel well taken care of, and it really felt like they were a part of our team.

No, I don’t have any complaints.

I’m the product owner at Benefit Systems SA, a multisport company. We’re a B2B business that sells sports cards to companies to give to their employees. These cards give them access to go to the gym.

What challenge were you trying to address with 10Clouds?

We wanted to redesign our website because users couldn’t find the information that we wanted them to find. We wanted a site that allows users to register and find all the important information that they need.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

10Clouds redesigned our website from scratch and helped us with the UI/UX research and user testing. We had an existing brand book but it was quite old, so they designed a lot of new stuff to make our website look more modern with the right flow. They also created a lot of icons and even prepared a new brand book, which included what colors we should use in the future for our website. We had another company handle the development portion.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a UI/UX design person, an accountant, and another person who helped us with research.

How did you come to work with 10Clouds?

We interviewed several different agencies, but they were the most prepared because they came up with a brief and plan. They were also able to accurately tell us what we could improve on, ask the right questions, and answer all our questions and requests.

We spent about $50,000-$100,000.

We worked with them on this project from July 2019–November 2020.

Our registrations grew and a lot of people bought our product. All of our KPIs improved, too. Overall, I was really satisfied with their designs and the results of the project.

How did 10Clouds perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style was great. Due to the pandemic, we had very dark times because all of the gyms closed and our project stopped. But after getting the green light from the board to continue with our work, they were ready. I never had a hard time working with them — they were super flexible and always delivered on time. Plus, whenever I needed something, they gave it to me as soon as possible. We used Jira as our project management tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had daily communication and contact, and we treated each other like a partner. When I wasn’t sure about something, they would give me a valid explanation of why they thought differently. I really liked working with them; they were always super nice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything that they need to improve on. I highly recommend working with them because they work with the same level of energy from beginning to end.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust them — they know what they’re doing. Also, make sure to always ask questions if you need an extra explanation.

I work for Unit21 as a product manager. I obtain requirements from either customer or business internal stakeholders with a view to developing features for our product.

We’d realized that customer acquisition costs for one of our product lines exceeded our original budget and represented a high ongoing cost for us. We decided to create a self service version of our product so that customers could sign up on their own and run checks against their users quickly and easily. We required a product designer to help realize this vision.

I have worked with 10clouds since 2018. I am a huge fan of the team.

1. Paweł Poterała worked with us as a product designer, and did a fantastic job. Asked insightful questions, was timely to let us know when he’s stuck, timely to deliver and responded well to being under stringent deadlines that were not under his control.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The UI/UX we developed represented a huge improvement on how customers are signed up into Unit21 today. The new process designed by Paweł will require less than 20 clicks to get up and running.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. I didn’t feel any problems with the timezone. Paweł was a huge part of that, as was Mateusz.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their people were friendly, professional, and committed to delivering a great project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Kamil(the original resource) was not up to the mark due to a lack of commitment on his end. 10Clouds resolved the issues we had with him as quickly as they could. Paweł was a superior resource and an adequate replacement.

I was the CEO of an entertainment and media technology company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 10Clouds?

There were several, but I would reference video personalization and adaptation, video analysis, enrichment, and linking, multimedia semantics and SaaS and data as a service issues.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re building a web browser application that enables us to get more economic yield out of our video assets by adapting the video to different contexts. The video is personalized by enabling people to find video more efficiently, as well as find content inside of the video.

The software is built with React on the frontend and Django and Python on the backend. In terms of design, they moved through a market introduction plan and market fit evaluation, user stories, and wireframes.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with, at our peak, around 25–30 people. They were the usual group of individuals working on the development of a new software product: front- and backend developers, middleware pipeline developers, database resources, and more.

How did you come to work with 10Clouds?

I’ve known the founders of the organization for more than 10 years.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $1 million dollars on this most recent project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since December 2010, but this most recent product began around October 2019. We’ve worked together in fits and starts over the years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve achieved a MVP of our complex web platform. There’s more work to do to turn it into a minimum marketable product, but we’re delighted with the 10Clouds work. They do great work.

How did 10Clouds perform from a project management standpoint?

They work with Jira and Confluence, along with other various tools, including a specific frontend design tool I can’t recall — perhaps InVision.

We communicate through Slack and they are very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The depth and breadth of their technical talent stands out. They possess a full suite of capabilities, from ethnography and user stories and UX to backend development and everything in between.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re continuously improving their service and delivery capabilities. I’ve seen that evolution over our 10-year relationship. I don’t have any specific deficiencies that aren’t attributable to us, rather than them. There’s nothing negative to put on them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s helpful to have technical counterparts on your side. If they assign a UX person from their team, you should have someone interfacing with them. If they have a development lead, then you should have a development lead. Pair the internal project leads with the external project leads. Think of them like an extension of your team to expand your scope of capability. This is what we do and it works well.

I’m the head of growth and marketing for a fintech company in the crypto space.

What challenge were you trying to address with 10Clouds?

Our goal was to develop a visual brand identity and a website footprint that was reflective of the direction that our company was headed in as a young, expressive, Gen Z-focused finance company. We wanted to translate that brand into an exciting landing page or website experience that encouraged users to sign up for our waitlist.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

On the branding side, 10Clouds helped us put together an extensive document that outlined the look and feel and the general direction that we were headed in. We tried to be as expansive on those thoughts as possible to give them as much information to work off of. 10Clouds then created the brand identity from scratch.

On the web development side, we had some very specific requests in terms of the apps on the site. We discussed the stack that we were going to build on, the tools that we needed to be implemented, and the story we wanted to tell. From there, 10Clouds took our vision and page outlines, created high fidelity wireframes, and ultimately, developed pages, including a landing page, for our site.

The site was already launched, but we still use their services for updates on pages and executions that our team in-house can't handle. But this project, as it was originally defined in terms of scope, was already completed.

We worked with four people on the branding and four other people on the website development.

Our founder came across 10Clouds through a mutual connection. He grew a relationship with 10Clouds’ account manager during the development of the early stage of our app, and we selected them because we were already familiar with their work and they were familiar with our product.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on this project from March-December 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

For this project, the main metric that we were looking to drive was waitlist subscriptions for our consumer-facing app. Within about two months of launching the site and starting our marketing efforts, we had generated approximately 22,500 waitlist signups and 120,000 web sessions. 

Additionally, our venture partners and early Beta users responded positively to the look and feel of our site and brand. They commented on how interesting they looked and how they made us stand out from our competition.

How did 10Clouds perform from a project management standpoint?

10Clouds performed really well in terms of project management. Our project manager, in particular, was very instrumental in pushing the project forward and keeping us on track.

We used Jira, Linear, and Shortcut for project management, Slack for communication, and Notion for project documentation. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were most impressed with the level of excellence of 10Clouds’s designers. They had the phenomenal design talent and due diligence that we needed for our projects.

Moreover, they demonstrated the ability to be deployed across several different disciplines. In order to get the most out of 10Clouds’ time, it's important to be diligent in terms of your scheduling and in making sure that you understand what it is that you're trying to accomplish in each of the sessions with their team.

You have to be prepared to give concise feedback and make decisions quickly. Knowing the time difference and setting proper expectations are imperative to move things along efficiently.
