I am the founder of branding and marketing agency - The House London Ltd.

We were at the early stages of looking into paid advertising and other digital marketing tactics to help promote our online product - www.storycube.co.uk. We came to Zest to go through a series of workshops to help us understand our challenges and how best to overcome them.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We became aware of Zest via an online business group and upon visiting their website we knew they were the agency to help us take things to the next level. Their website is engaging, clear and full of useful information so they obviously know their stuff!

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We had a series of 1-2-1 sessions to diagnose the key challenges and then went through two webinar workshops spaced over 2 weeks. This was all conducted online via Zoom and Miro as Alex, Zest's founder, guided us through their framework.

Essentially we were asked many probing questions to get us thinking about our brand, what we had to offer and why prospects would buy from us. This was exciting and tiring at the same time as we realized we were turning lots of thoughts and ideas into tangible actions.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

At the end of just two very productive sessions, we came out with a clear roadmap of what we need to do next with regards to online promotion. These sessions saved us time, money and effort and helped us to redirect our energy in the right direction. On our own we would have wasted time on unnecessary tasks, but now with guidance, we can get the outcomes we want sooner.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was brilliant, felt very natural and if anything we wanted to do more sessions. They were surprisingly fun and inspiring and unearthed things about our brand we didn't know.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their processes and frameworks were brilliant. They are very comprehensive but when guided they are simple to use too. Alex is brilliant to work with too, very honest, very talented and a true star!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, it was spot on!

We’re a digital media company. We publish articles that cover a wide range of lifestyle interests. I’m the managing director.

What challenges were you trying to address with Zest Digital Limited?

We needed help with SEO and Google. We realized we couldn’t just rely on organic growth and needed to be more strategic.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re helping us grow our website traffic through organic search optimization. They’ve written some articles for us, but primarily, we write our own content. Each month, they give us two content briefs that we use to write articles. 

They did a technical audit of the site and helped us sort out bugs that were discovered. They continue to provide ongoing support in that regard.

My main contact is Laura (Head of Client Services), and I think there are two additional people working on our site.

We’ve known the founder of Zest Digital Limited, Alex (CEO), for quite some time. He’s worked with our company as a judge for our annual awards ceremony. We were discussing the website with him, and after hearing about our challenges, he offered a great solution.

We’ve spent about $24,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2018, and we’re still working together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re a young team that’s up to speed with what’s happening in the SEO world. They empower my team and help improve the digital publishing process for us. Our traffic has increased by 200–300%. 

How did Zest Digital Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re excellent. The team is very accessible. They make the process easy for my team. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a very good company. They’ve been working remotely since before the COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s never compromised their level of service. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. We’ve changed our plan over the years, and I’m sure if I wanted to try a different approach, they’d be successful in that too. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

I underestimated the task at hand when we first started working together. They’ve been helpful in sorting things out and making sure I’m not overwhelmed. However, I think it’s important to understand how much time you may need to dedicate to the project.

I’m the founder and managing director of Maxipos. We provide marketing materials for large corporates and startup brands. We cover packaging, branded merchandise, and print items. We’ve aggregated a wide range of suppliers around the world to manufacture items for our clients.

What challenge were you trying to address with Zest Digital Limited?

We relied on client recommendations or lead generation companies to attract new customers. It was a labor-intensive process and we thought an online presence could generate leads. We had just finished the development of our new website but needed a new digital marketing agency to helps us with SEO.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They analyzed our website to assess how it was performing. They highlighted technical issues and recommended how we could fix them. Then we selected long-tail keywords to promote certain products.

Since then, we’ve worked with them to fine-tune the website’s design. We had some limitations on what we could add to the website, but they’ve done well managing that.

Our main point of contact is Laura (Project Manager), but we’ve also met with a few other team members.

I found them on Google. We were looking for a local agency so we could meet with them if needed.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent £1,000 per month (approximately $16,000 USD in total).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around January 2019 and we’re still working together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

At the beginning of the project, our site was ranked on Google’s tenth page and we were getting very few inquiries. We were receiving only one inquiry a month, but now we receive one a day. It has been particularly valuable during the pandemic because I can’t visit new clients to sell them on our business.

Now we’re ranking on the first page of Google and are aiming to rank in the top three results.

At first, we weren’t attracting quite the right customer. For example, we had one person who wanted to order 10 boxes, but we needed clients who wanted to order 10,000 boxes. They made adjustments to target the ideal customer.

How did Zest Digital Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

Before the pandemic, we went into their office every few weeks. Their communication strategy works really well for us. We like that we have a single point of contact who provides monthly reports that cover the targets we’ve agreed upon. It’s very top-line. Then we have a phone call about a week later to go over the details.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very proactive and positive. They respond to feedback very well, too. As in any partnership, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges but they’ve adapted and have come up with innovative solutions. We certainly recommend them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re more of an SEO agency rather than a web design company, but their design work has improved over time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

SEO takes quite a lot of time and effort, so patience is key.

We required help with a fundraising and awareness campaign. The objective was for our ads to reach as many targeted people as possible, with the aim of converting into donations.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We reached the most amount of individuals we've ever managed to achieve previously. This resulted in lots of donations and better awareness of the charity.
