Zen Anchor wrote dozens and dozens of blogs for us that made a huge positive impact on our ability to rank for top keywords in our industry and drive organic traffic to our website. Zen Anchor also carefully crafted a plethora of PPC campaigns for Google, Instagram, and Facebook with geotargeting and specific demographics in mind. Additionally, Zen Anchor was instrumental in SEO copywriting when creating and revamping web pages for our growing startup.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Our organic traffic (SEO keywords and copywriting) has been our highest source of traffic for over 2 years.
• When we paused paid ads, we had a considerable drop in overall traffic to show that those ads were working in getting users to the site.

Zen Anchor was able to provide deliverables in a timely manner, but certainly performed better with a deadline vs. "when you have a moment to get this to us." They were very attentive to our needs and were quick to bring potential problems to our attention before we even noticed it.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were always incredibly receptive to feedback, both good and bad. In a world run by email, they certainly prioritized video calls and (virtual) face-to-face meetings, which went a long way in building the relationship.

What challenge were you trying to address with Zen Anchor Digital?

Plenty of companies can do paid search work, but there are not a lot of companies that will help to deliver a business outcome. I need to acquire customers cost-effectively and at scale and that is exactly what they help me to do.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Most recently, we used them for paid search and retargeting display ads. From the ground up, they helped us to build a multi-tiered targeting campaign and retargeting campaign on both Google and Facebook.

They have helped us to build a best approach that puts the right ad in front of the right person. They work to ensure they're presenting consumers with ads when they are ready, willing, and able to buy. We also rely on them for insights into lead behavior and nurturing. They help us hold onto leads that may be ready to buy in the future.

I worked with six people from their team.

How did you come to work with Zen Anchor Digital?

I have known Zen Anchor for as long as they have been in business. I was referred to them by a college friend of mine. I have been working with Gary (CEO & Founder) for well over seven years. When he started Zen Anchor, I wanted to continue working with him.

Gary always tells me that they're a small, scrappy firm. They get a tremendous amount of work done, and very cost-effectively. They can manage very large challenges and projects, but give us the attention of a smaller business. With other agencies I have worked with, you have to shake them to get a response. The culture they have built over there is amazing. 

How much have you invested in them?

We have spent between $500,000–$1,000,000 over the total relationship.

What is the status of this engagement?

I have been working with Gary since 2013.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The dashboards they build on Google helped us to identify how and where we have seen opportunities to drive down costs and drive up volume. They share reports from Google Ads regularly.

We also evaluate the quality of our leads through sales performance and customer retention. We have an enterprise data warehouse that is connected to our CRM, which track our sales metrics. All of that lives in a Power BI implementation that sits within our firewalls. That is the majority of what I look at to measure the value of their performance.

How did Zen Anchor Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Basecamp is their preferred platform. We communicated through quick email updates, touchpoint meetings, and ad hoc progress updates. I was never in the dark on progress at any time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

At all times, I'm confident that they're making the best decisions for the company. When I say I need to get something done, I can count on them to complete the task. Because I don’t worry about it, I don’t think about it.
