BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Our company founded in Attendorn, Germany, in 1899. Worldwide, more than 4,000 people are employed by our Group, which is among the leading manufacturers of installation technology for sanitary and heating.

The range consists of approximately 17,000 articles in the product categories of piping systems as well as pre-wall and drainage technology. They are used nearly everywhere: in building services installations, in utilities, in industrial plant construction and shipbuilding.

Since 2005, our company has been successfully present in the Indian market and we founded an India-based arm to foster the Indian local footprint. This includes investments in a production site in Sanand to better serve local market needs. Sales and service teams are present in all the major cities in India.

I am responsible for all Marketing activities of the organization (BTL, Activation & Digital) and was also overseeing the automation of Sales processes within the organization

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Zeliant Infoserve Pvt. Ltd.?

We hired Zeliant to automate our sales reporting process across regions in India. The reports sent by our RSMs were in excel and not uniform with scope for errors. We spent a lot of time in collating these reports and manually creating a MIS sales dashboard view for deeper analysis into our sales forecast

What were your goals for this project?

We needed a centrally hosted solution built on .NET which would allow ASMs, RSMs to upload their sales forecasts against actual committed figures once every month.

The solution was designed to help us get a birds-eye view of the sales processes in each region and allow us to take strategic decisions. Phase 2 of the project would be an integration with SAP to pull SKU details

How did you select this vendor?

There were 4 other possible vendors, but most of them were disqualified due to inexperience or estimated costs. It was essential for us to select a reliable long term partner who was equally committed to long term and reliable support.

Since Zeliant were already partners with many other organization in delivering bespoke software solutions we went ahead with them. The selection process involved ME; as the marketing head, the National Sales Head and Product managers

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Zeliant designed, developed, configured, and launched a new backend business management solution. The project began with a discovery workshop, which let us reach a mutual understanding of the business challenges and goals.

Once we approved the workflows, wireframes, and mockups, the actual production began in the form of defining the SoW. The functional versions were ready for user testing and feedback every three weeks.

Improvements were made during each sprint thanks to key suggestions from their developers & requirement analysts

What was the team composition?

There were approx 5 team members from Zeliant including developers, testers and requirement analysts. Our side had a similar team composition which were interacting with Zeliant during the development and rollout of the solution

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our solution was designed and developed within the agreed timeframe. Project completion was a major achievement for our leadership, sales executives and our organization overall.

The solution has already reduced almost all data entry errors, Our sales personnel can now actually spend time on important tasks rather than filling in excelsheets and management always has a birdseye view of the sales activities going on in all the areas and regions

Project management was very impressive as they regularly communicated and complied with deadlines and deliverables.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We had direct access to the project managers and developers as well. Zeliant made sure that there was at least one participant from the development team in all over communication so that things would not get lost in translation.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I think they delivered the project withour any hiccups but still I would like to advise them to improve the documentation process a bit so that it validates the project requirements much easier than thoughts.
