I am the founder and CEO of Talent Unbound Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) previously Microschool Revolution Inc.

What challenge were you trying to address with Zaya Learning Labs Private Limited?

We wanted to develop different mobile apps.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Zaya Learning Labs Private Limited helps me work out the requirements, design, and the process of building iOS and Android apps. They have an interactive process of sprints one after the other. Once we get a result from the team, we publish that app version and we proceed with developing the next set of features.

What is the team composition?

I interact with their CEO regarding pricing. We also have a project manager who I communicate with to discuss the apps. He also has a team behind him that does the coding. 

How did you come to work with Zaya Learning Labs Private Limited?

I was connected to their previous founder and he told me about his former team. In the end, he connected me with Zaya Learning Labs Private Limited.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working in June 2019, and the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We have been fantastically happy with the apps. I’ve worked with different teams in India and elsewhere in the past, but others have not been as skilled in the education market. They deeply understand what we need and they’re very quickly able to translate that in terms of screens and database, as opposed to when we're working with a pure technical professional. 

When you give them a high-level concept and functionality, they know how to take it and run it into a detailed spec. Ultimately, the team turns it into a wireframe and screens. For each project they have finished, they've produced high-quality work each time.

How did Zaya Learning Labs Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

They have an excellent project manager. Zaya Learning Labs Private Limited has always been clear and transparent about their deadlines. Above all, they tend to hit their dates pretty solidly. 

I appreciate that they don't overwhelm me with status updates. We interact through email and have occasional meetings. They send files through Google Docs, indicating the complete with the specs of the project. In addition, they use Figma to share screen mockups so we can talk about them and get them right before they go to actual coding. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re professional, flexible, and accommodating. The team is also easy to work with and they’re incredibly knowledgeable about education.

By far the most distinguishing factor has been their depth of understanding when it comes to the education marketplace. They know what's involved in developing education software so they allow you to work at a higher level. Overall, I highly recommend them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t really think of anything of any areas they could improve. Everything has been quite smooth.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It's essential to check all the details thoroughly and ensure that you're on the same page with what's getting built. Review meetings are a good way to converse about the specs of the products you want them to develop.
