I’m the founder and CEO of Mobile Associates. We’ve been in business for nine years, and we build mobile applications, platforms, and websites. Additionally, we provide digital marketing services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Zaptech Solutions?

We needed development resources. Onshore development resources were harder to manage, and independent contractors weren’t really working well for us. As we were getting larger projects, we brought in Zaptech Solutions as an external, offshore development partner.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Zaptech Solutions provides us with full-stack developers to augment our team. They help us with mobile app development, which includes the back- and frontend development of those pieces. Generally, they develop the apps on two different platforms, Android and iOS, but they also build some hybrid apps using React Native and other technologies.

Sometimes, the mobile apps are part of a larger platform that has a web component to it, so Zaptech Solutions also help us with web development. They handle front- and backend development, API integration, and everything else involved in web development.

Additionally, we work on IoT, which includes integration into devices and other similar tasks. Zaptech Solutions has helped me on that side as well. Overall, they cover the stack of everything I need.

To be totally honest, I’ve also brought in other companies to have backup partners. However, non of those other companies have the skillset breadth that I need because they either don’t do React Native or IoT. Thus, I use Zaptech Solutions for the most complex projects of my company.

What is the team composition?

We have a main point of contact from Zaptech Solutions, and we communicate with the owner as needed. Over the course of our working relationship, we’ve also interacted with 10–15 people. For example, if we’re working with a person that handles specifically Android development, we go directly to this person to ask Android-related questions.

How did you come to work with Zaptech Solutions?

I frequently get contacted by a large number of offshore developers who are trying to build working relationships, but I usually shut them down. Although I don’t respond, I mark them as potential providers.

Prior to coming across Zaptech Solutions, I had been working with another company for 2–3 years. However, when working with certain companies for a while, they start to get complacent, increasing their costs and hourly rates. Thus, we found ourselves paying more money for the same amount of work, which was frustrating.

Once I had enough of my previous company, I went back to check the development companies that I had flagged. I called 6–7 different companies and had an interview process with all of them. From there, I liked Zaptech Solutions the most.

We’ve spent over $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2017, but we exchanged emails prior to that. We’ve been communicating since around 2015–2016, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Zaptech Solutions delivers quality work. As with any other development team, we’ve run into challenges around making sure that we’re getting quality work and clear communication. However, we’ve worked through all of the challenges. I wouldn’t continue working with them if I didn’t appreciate and respect their work.

How did Zaptech Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Basecamp to manage the project, so we can see who’s working on the project at all times.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Zaptech Solutions’ ability to cover many different parts of my business is impressive. I’ve almost never run into a problem to which they can’t find a solution or a resource to work on it. Their adaptability to many different platforms is the biggest advantage of working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not just them, but any offshore company could improve their communication. We’ve also faced some challenges around quality, but we’ve addressed and corrected them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that you have a single point of contact for your every need. Additionally, consider that working with an offshore company will require you to adjust your schedule. However, Zaptech Solutions is very flexible about shifting to your local time as well.

I am the co-owner of a software development firm. We partnered with zaptech solutions to help us with some of our software needs. This mostly involved custom mobile apps and websites.

They were very communicative, responsive, and cost effective. Additionally they were able to work with me on US time zones.

We did a bunch of projects with Zaptech Solutions so it's tough to pinpoint one project. However they have very good processes in place to make sure all project are done in a timely manner.

I worked with probably 8-10 people on various projects. They have their main project managers that facilitate the projects. Then if you need to dig in deeper and talk directly to the developers this was an easy process.

We have completed probably 20+ projects with Zaptech Solutions.

They use basecamp for deliverables. They use skype for video conferencing. This worked well for us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very communicative and timely, which are huge in software development. They are also able to turn around quotes very quickly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There are always going to be some issues working with a team in a different country. However the cost benefit makes it definitely worth it.

We first started working with Zaptech Solutions over 5 years ago. We were looking for a partner to handle our client's web development needs.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were looking for a web development partner that could handle all of our clients' web needs. I visited Zaptech's facility in Ahmedabad several years ago. They have a wonderful office and a large support staff and have been excellent as far as communication over our multiple year partnership and continue to service our clients as though they are their own.

We have worked with Zaptech to create, fix, update websites for dozens of our clients. Primarily, they have been working with our clients' WordPress sites, but they have also stepped up and worked on any type of website that has presented itself (woocommerce, Joomla, others as well). They haven't had any issues with working with anything.

We have a single point of contact that manages their development teams. That point of contact has remained constant for several years now and is a trusted partner.

Our clients have been satisfied with Zaptech Solutions. They have done a wonderful job of executing the plans we have requested for the website and are quick to make changes or fix when something breaks.

Generally, the time differential hasn't been a big issue between US and India. Our point of contact is available during our mornings and late night so we can communicate easily and work that is requested by the end of our day is typically updated by morning when we start. It's been a good combination. The only challenges are the differences in holiday schedule between India and the US. Because India has more holidays, that can sometimes be an issue if we need something. However, it's a small price to pay for the quality and value of the services we are receiving.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am most pleased with having a dedicated point of contact that has not changed over many years of operations. He now has a good grasp of what we typically request for our clients and it makes our continued working relationship very easy.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Initially, language was a minor barrier as we learned how to communicate our requests clearly. We are all now on the same page and everything moves fairly smoothly. It's been a great working relationship. We are happy to have Zaptech Solutions as a trusted partner.

Sportex Safety specializes in custom signs, banners, decals, printing, embroidery, as well as safety apparel. We are an all-inclusive safety recognition and production shop. I am the creative director and senior web designer of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Zaptech Solutions?

We needed assistance with e-commerce work for the Sportex Safety web platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We handled design work, while Zaptech Solutions developed the backend of our Magento platform. We've also built an app which interfaces with the e-commerce platform, working as a simple, slick way for managers to access the platform.

How did you come to work with Zaptech Solutions?

We looked online for Magento developers, and Zaptech came up in the main search. I reached out to them and we started working together.

The total cost of Zaptech's services has been at least $25,000 over the years.

What is the status of this engagement?

Zaptech has been maintaining our web platform, installing extensions and custom builds on it for the last 5 years. We have an ongoing service agreement with Zaptech, for a set number of hours per month. We have an on-site front-end and backend developer, but he still needs help occasionally.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Zaptech Solutions has always come through for us. We've faced many challenges, including building a third-party API. Zaptech has had to collaborate with other developers; they've pulled through and created miracles. From a programming aspect, Zaptech can build anything we dream up.

How did Zaptech Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We're using Slack and Basecamp currently. Initially, we only used email. Zaptech's project manager handled everything and was always there when we needed him. I speak developer language, so we could easily communicate through email, not requiring phone conversations.

What did you find most impressive about Zaptech Solutions?

Zaptech seems to know its stuff in terms of Magento and iOS. The team has made suggestions that could help us security or extension-wise.

Are there any areas Zaptech Solutions could improve?

Not that I know of.
