Please describe your company and your position there.

I am COO of Spark Networks SE, a provider of premium online dating services. Among other things, I am responsible for our product development.

For what projects/services did your company hire YOPESO?

We needed Android developers to ensure continuity for our app solutions on a temporary basis while we restructured our internal teams and processes.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to reach feature parity between our iOS and Android apps.

How did you select this vendor?

David Rodriguez (CEO, YOPESO) is a former colleague. We considered multiple vendors, but we decided to contract with YOPESO because we were impressed by their simple and entrepreneurial business model and the quality of their developers.

Describe the project in detail.

Their developers improved our app solutions and overhauled our Android code base.

What was the team composition?

We worked with 3–5 people in each monthly sprint cycle. Product was still inhouse at Spark, while YOPESO did development.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We maintained the new Android code base after we insourced development again. They gave us advice beyond the scope of their involvement.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We communicated effectively with Jira. Furthermore, we had a monthly code review with our internal Android lead developer to ensure that we understood YOPESO’s work and could maintain the new code base.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I appreciated their entrepreneurial, proactive, and responsive style. They acted as an extension of our team and delivered high-quality work.
