From the get go, we had a tight timeline and high needs, which usually lends to a lot of friction. Xterra Solutions and their team dedicated to the project did everything they could to accommodate and accelerate a normal process in order to help meet our needs. They were very open in communication, said no when they needed to, gave alternatives when we might be heading down the wrong path on an idea or if they thought something else may work better. All teams were just as involved from the start of the project to the finish of it, often enough that you were more than acquainted with their team on an individual basis. So far it has been of the the most professional and reliable partners I have had the pleasure to deal with.

MDC had engaged Xterra to quickly scale a rapidly growing AI company with an HQ in San Francisco CA.

Xterras deliverables were as follows:

Drive the network design which entailed weekly design and coordination meetings, security standards, ISP redundancy, ongoing support and maintenance capabilities, performance, systems needing to be supported and overall network topology.

Once network design and equipment specifications were developed, Xterra procured, staged and prepped all pieces of the netowrk at their local shop and deployed on site programming, patching, wireless surveys (pre/post) as well as day one turnover training and testing.

Xterra sprinted through the finish line ahead of schedule and mainteded their pricing throughout the course of the 18 month project.

Xterra has a deep bench. Their knowledge and experience are extensive. However, two things set them apart: their ability to understand our business, our needs, and the particular constraints and challenges that we face, and their ability to communicate clearly not only with our technical staff but also with other campus stakeholders. 

CCA – like most small to medium colleges – has extensive data requirements with a limited number of technical resources and a demanding community of students, staff, and faculty to support. Xterra doesn’t provide cookie-cutter solutions but has always provided solutions appropriately scoped to our needs and our constraints. 

And not unlike most of higher education, our community is made of a wide range of leaders and stakeholders, most of whom are not technical. Xterra meets people where they are; bringing them into the process and explaining highly technical ideas in language that they can understand.
