I’m the creative director and co-owner of Brandwell, a design agency that specializes in branding.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wren Photo?

We needed to produce two separate photoshoots for a client that manufactures kitchen equipment. These photoshoots were on location and involved different types of shots and talent. The goal was to use the resulting photos in our end client’s marketing, print materials, and digital media.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we presented Wren Photo with a mood board we had created and our execution plan. Wren Photo helped us produce two separate photoshoots that involved kitchen action photos, food photography, and close-ups. We hired talent to perform different tasks like cooking and plating food, and Wren Photo provided all the necessary photography equipment.

What is the team composition?

We mainly worked with Wren (Photographer & Filmmaker), and he had a production assistant.

How did you come to work with Wren Photo?

A business partner referred Wren Photo to me. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested over $6,000 AUD (approximately $4,200 USD) with Wren Photo.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Wren Photo from November–December 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Although we don’t have quantitative metrics, our end client approved the photos Wren Photo delivered and was really happy with the result. Their high-quality execution and work showed their experience and knowledge of photography. Overall, it was a successful collaboration, and I’d work with Wren Photo again.

How did Wren Photo perform from a project management standpoint?

Wren Photo met deadlines and stayed on budget. We communicated effectively through phone calls and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with Wren Photo’s quality of work and responsiveness. I could always reach Wren — he was great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything for Wren Photo to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Before working with Wren Photo, I recommend you put together a mood board and a plan. This way, they can execute what you desire.

Please describe your company and your position there.

Stockland Communities own and manage 58 Retirement Villages across Australia. As a regional marketing manager I manage the marketing for 19 of these villages located in Victoria and WA.

For what projects/services did your company hire Wren Photo & Film?

With 2 years of rolling lockdowns in Victoria finally at an end, Stockland need to update its image library across the Victorian portfolio ahead of the end of financial year. Leaving us 8 weeks to shoot and video 11 villages.

How did you select Wren Photo & Film?

We needed a top notch photographer who could work with my already established video team. Someone who could work with the team and with minimal direction to understand this niche market. I contacted a contact in NSW and she recommended Wren as ideal for this job.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

11 4 x hour shoots that were across Melbourne as retirement villages where residents live. The shoots required Wren work around residents and staff while shooting out models in natural situations both indoor and outdoor. This need to be done at the same time and alongside the camera crew.

What was the team composition?

At each shoot we had marketing, 2 camera crew, 4 models. On each site we had 2+managers and 100+ residents - that could not be in frame, but we needed to move around them and not disturb peoples lives.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The results are excellent and the images are using used nationally (not just in Victoria) to launch our new brand. This will see the images on all collateral from brochures to bus wraps.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Wren made it easy - he slotted into perfectly with the established team. Everyone on the shoot(s) commented on the ease in which it was to work with Wren and what it pleasure it was.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team's professionalism was impressive.

Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?

None - we will be using Wren in as many future shoots as we can.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the co-founder and CEO of Norby. Norby's World is a kid-friendly virtual world that helps children learn English as a second language.

For what projects/services did your company hire Wren Photo & Film?

To film and produce a 3-minute product launch video for our upcoming crowdfunding campaign.

What were your goals for this project?

Create a high-impact product launch video that demonstrates the key features of our product.

How did you select Wren Photo & Film?

We put together a project brief and interviewed several providers before deciding to proceed with Wren Photo & Film.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

Once selected, we worked closely with Wren Photo & Film on all aspects of the shoot. There were several in-person meetings at our office to discuss the script, locations, talent, and the footage to capture.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We worked together through several rounds of drafts via email, dropbox, and video calls.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We're very happy with the end result. Wren added a lot of value before, during, and after the shooting process.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were a very responsive team throughout the entire process. I felt we covered a lot of ground in a relatively short period of time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The two things that stood out for me through the process were: 1) The team is friendly and easy to work with; and 2) They have a strong work ethic. They were also great at taking client feedback but knew when to push back when a bad idea was suggested from our end.

Not that I can think of.
