I’m the head of corporate communications for the Nestoil Group, an oil and gas conglomerate. Among other opportunities within the oil and gas sector, we construct, maintain, and repair pipelines.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wild Fusion?

Despite the size of our group, we didn’t have much of a digital footprint, and our website was very minimal. None of our companies had social media, so we didn’t engage enough with stakeholders. We hired Wild Fusion to address those needs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted to produce a lot of video and blog content, but the older version of our site couldn’t support these features. So we shut down our original website and had Wild Fusion build a brand-new one from scratch.

Wild Fusion chose to use WordPress to build the front- and backend of our site because it has a simple CMS that would enable a lot of the features we were looking for and make it easy to upload content on our own. Additionally, they designed a UI that would simplify the process for users to find the content they were searching for.

Since the website launched, they’ve managed our SEO and helped us publish an industry magazine.

How did you come to work with Wild Fusion?

I’ve worked with them before, so I asked them to pitch for this project. Compared to the other digital agencies we consulted, Wild Fusion stood out as our favorites.

How much have you invested with them?

Wild Fusion is working on retainer for about $5,400 per month. So, we’ve spent about $65,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Wild Fusion in January 2019, and the collaboration is ongoing. Most likely, we will renew the contract at the end of this year.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Wild Fusion has pioneered our online presence. It’s clear that they've had a huge impact, and their work has generated organic growth.

The number of followers we have on Twitter has grown from zero to nearly 6,000 people in just four months. Additionally, we’ve significantly boosted our presence on Instagram and grown by over 200% on Facebook.

These metrics are indicative of how compelling Wild Fusion’s content is. They’ve attracted new followers while retaining those already engaged with us.  

Wild Fusion managed our magazine production as well, delivering the final product within three months. The print aspect is fantastic, and the magazine can be seen at NestoilNews.com and on our website.

Basically, Wild Fusion has provided everything we wanted, and everybody’s proud of the result.

How did Wild Fusion perform from a project management standpoint?

Wild Fusion set up a project team for its development, comprised of actual developers, content creators, and those who were just interfacing with us on the project plans.

Since we decided to work with them on the magazine, we meet with a content creation and design team every Tuesday, and they interface with third-party vendors. They’ve never missed a meeting, and we get regular updates on how the project was fairing.

They manage everything perfectly. When things didn’t go as planned, they displayed enough expertise in crisis management that I would recommend them any day.

What did you find most impressive about them?

First, they have an impressive clientele list from our industry, which means they have enough experience and resources to handle any situation we throw at them. Secondly, their team is very young, which means they’re dynamic and can think outside the box to solve problems.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some of their employees tend to be overstretched in their roles, so they should consider hiring more talent. For example, towards the end of our project, a few of their employees slept at the office to make sure all the work was done. I know they wanted to deliver everything we needed, but with a few more people on their team, this could be resolved.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re the best agency in Nigeria. Every big organization looking to improve their digital footprint should hire Wild Fusion.

The scope of techfest was an end to end initiative. The strategy was developed, creatives, media plans, and buying was carried out for various digital platforms. Tracking and reporting were also provided to show the performance of the event. Different channels like Facebook, Twitter, Google Ads, Influencer marketing, Live stream of the event on digital platforms were used at the event for more reach and visibility. My role was general supervision, coordination, and management of the agency deliverables in meeting set targets for the event. The vendor was responsible for the implementation

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The team from each party communicated effectively on almost all the areas which made expectations to be exceeded. Suggestions on better ways to perform were welcomed and reporting was also submitted afterward. One tool that came in handy was the google sheet document which allowed updates to be made on materials realtime online.

Hootsuite was also used to track posts on various platforms. There was a given and stated Service Level Agreement between both parties and the vendor adhered to feedback and response time within the slated SLA period.

Everything they did for us was impressive!

Not really everything turned out more than was expected.

They did a good job and the client was very happy. Because of the new website, they didn’t have many SEO metrics, but by the time the project ended, they were on a level with some of their competitors. They now want Wild Fusion to work again on their website and do more ORM for them.

How did Wild Fusion perform from a project management standpoint?

They are fantastic with communication. They’ve given us the leeway to call them at any time, even nights and weekends. If we want something Sunday by 9 a.m., we can send them an email or call them, and they’ll deliver.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They go above and beyond what we propose to the client. They’re a perfect partner and they’re very creative. We only work with them, because we tried a couple of other agencies in the past and those relationships weren’t too pleasant.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing they could do better.

If you Google the top three best agencies in Nigeria, they will always fall between one to three. I believe they are the best agency in Nigeria. Just tell them what you want and they will surpass your expectations.
