I’m the co-founder of PANOGS. We specialize in creating unique interactive photographic and video experiences. Our team sets up interactive displays for landmark destinations using the latest technologies.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wemersive?

We brought Wemersive in for web app development projects for a few clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first project Wemersive worked on with us was the development of the Space Needle 360 app. We did this back when 360-degree VR videos were still a new thing. The end client needed an app that users could download on Android and iOS phones. 

Our team produced VR headsets, and the idea was for end users to download an app via QR code to have a cool 360-degree viewing experience. Wemersive used a proprietary technology to code the app. It was one of the first high-end livestreaming technology for 360-degree players on the app store. 

Apart from that, we also did a job in London for the British government called Highways England. We needed to create a waterproof nighttime camera that could provide a 360-degree view and be deployed in scenes of accidents. It was used for forensics purposes. 

We also had to create a camera that could use whatever cellular networks were in the area. We’d also be broadcasting in four separate cameras. Wemersive created the backend engine to take those transmissions on cellular lines and stitch them with a 5–6-second latency. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with 4–5 teammates from Wemersive. Richard (Co-Founder & CEO) interfaced with us and helped us with client negotiations. We collaborated with a backend developer, and there were at least 2–3 designers on their end. 

How did you come to work with Wemersive?

I met Wemersive through an organization at a technical conference in Las Vegas. I was a speaker at the event, and they had a booth there. We went to them because they were the only ones in the industry who had an innovative way to get low-latency streaming on 360-degree videos. They also had an engineer in Amsterdam who was the best in the business. Overall, they were a truly high-end team that could help us offer high-end offerings to our clients, so we hired them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $50,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The Space Needle project lasted from November 2014–October 2015.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Wemersive had superior video-stitching technology as part of their product offering. They were one of the best teams in their business and were great at white labeling. They took on complicated technical challenges and came up with the best solutions. 

How did Wemersive perform from a project management standpoint?

The Wemersive team surpassed our expectations in terms of project management. They could take calls at all hours since they had an international team. For instance, when we were doing a project in Europe, they had a Europe-based team responding to our calls. In other words, their customer service was fantastic. 

Richard was available 24 hours a day and went above and beyond answering the questions our client had. He helped the client navigate the process of creating a developer account — he and his team made this seamless. Their developer from Amsterdam was also truly groundbreaking. 

To communicate, we used Google Meet to have video conference calls. They used Asana at the time, but they might’ve also used their own project management system. The team had their own CMS, too.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their high-end 360-degree panoramic video viewer; nobody else had something like it at the time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They need to finish what they’re developing. For context, they’ve been showing us a lot of cool service models they’ve been working on for years, and they keep saying they’ll finish them. However, they keep on being delayed in terms of releasing those systems. Wemersive should have a solid launch date for them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a formal review process for Wemersive’s product offerings. Make sure that the team has offers that meet your needs. From there, have a call with one of their sales representatives to see if they’re the right fit for your specific requirements. It’s wise to shop around and compare, and know that Wemersive’s services are on the pricier side. However, you get what you pay for; you’ll get the absolute best quality in the industry. 

If you’re a large company, work with Wemersive without hesitation and ensure you have all the technical requirements they need. If you’re a small agency, take a little more time to get a full idea of what they have to offer.

WeMersive is our longstanding technical partner helping us navigate all aspects of VR/AR Software Development and implementation. In 2018, we approached Richard and his team to help create a mobile based platform supporting a wide range of VR Content for private use as well commercial including in partnership with Children's Hospitals across the U.S.. Our VR Platform, EVRLAND is now used in multiple Hospital chemo and dialysis wards to support children as they experience anxiety and/or painful medical procedures thus encouraging more positive response and recovery.

 WeMersive, was a key partner helping us develop our initial strategy and business plan. Once implemented, WeMersive managed all aspects of technical development and creation through delivery of our Platform. Further, they continue to manage and assist us with any technical issues and fixes going forward. Richard and his team are the very best professional support and we continue to develop new programs with them and will do so well into the future.

All technical support in development, creation, and maintenance have been succesful. Our VR Platform was easily built, uploaded to various delivery platforms, and continues to successfully operate.

• Migrate existing database to a self-hosted Sharded MongoDB that scales resources as needed, creates backups, and improves latency over existing solution
• Develop a Continuous Integration development process that streamlines new product deployments and testing
• Consolidate various 3rd party services into self-hosted solutions to save costs

We have been working with Wemersive for 4+ years, and though we have far outgrown the scope of the original project, they have become our do-it-all partner for any tough technical challenge that we aren't equipped to solve in-house. They have helped us with a wide range of projects ranging from application development to server architecture and AI/ML
