I’m a project manager for WebRickshaw, a company that provides media creation and IT services. We work on TV, radio, newspapers, and other advertising channels. We also provide website development services to some of our clients.

What challenge were you trying to address with Weft Technologies?

We don’t have an in-house team for technical projects. As a result, whenever a client needs a website, mobile app, or e-commerce platform, we go to Weft.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Weft provides website, e-commerce, and native app development services along with hosting, domain purchases, and registration. We have an in-house team for UI/UX design, so Weft works strictly on the technical parts of our projects. 

Most of the websites we’ve done with them have been written in HTML 5, and we do WordPress CMS integration on some projects. Weft also has a custom .NET platform of their own, and our third-party clients can opt to go with that. The usual websites usually have Google Forms, WhatsApp, and other platform integrations. 

Moreover, Weft helps us do Android and iOS development. We usually use React Native or Flutter. For specific projects, we’ve done food-ordering apps for our clients, which have geolocation features. The team also helps us with Google Play Store and App Store integration. 

Further, Weft provides one-year warranties for their work; they fix all technical glitches that happen during that period. 

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact is their project manager. They have separate teams of 3–4 people each for web, e-commerce, and app development. 

How did you come to work with Weft Technologies?

We decided to work with a company from India because development services were expensive in the UAE. Meanwhile, Weft gave us the best price out of all the companies we reviewed. On top of that, they delivered on time and their work quality was good during our test engagement. That was when we hired them.

We’ve invested $50,000 so far across all of our projects. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Weft in November 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The Weft team is ready to deliver whatever our clients need. In terms of quality, we haven’t found any glitches or problems in their deliverables — they always do quality work. Moreover, Weft gives us the best rates compared to any company in their region, and they have a reasonable delivery time. These are the reasons we continue working with them. 

How did Weft Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is good. They always deliver exactly what we ask for, and we can start projects right after receiving a brief from our clients and giving them to Weft. Once the work starts, they stick to our timelines. Meanwhile, we use Asana to manage the project, and everything else is integrated into it. We use emails and Google Meet to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Weft’s quality of work is the most impressive part of working with them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. I would’ve changed vendors a long time ago if I’d been unhappy with Weft.

Know that they offer good services at reasonable prices, and they stick to the timeline. They’re a young and creative team with a passion for work.

I am in charge of marketing and project manager for Eurovets for this app development.

We hired Weft Technologies for developing a mobile app for our business. Our goal was to create a fully-fledged e-commerce app that also includes Event Managements, Blogs, Training Materials etc for the Veterinary industry in the GCC.

As our CRM was based on Odoo, we wanted to hire a team who has expertise in Odoo development and other skill sets like responsive UI Design, Timely delivery and cost-effective solution.

The scope of work included a B2B e-commerce app that will authenticate existing web based e-commerce users to easily migrate to the app platform. Native App created in React Native and Odoo as Master Database.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

App is on beta testing but so far, all the testers and users has given positive feedbacks.

The project management was very efficient and communication good. It took the developers sometime to understand the nature of our business and our target audience. However, the project is a success based on their efforts. We used Jira for communicating and reporting.

The most impressive thing about this company is its level of professionalism. The way they have handled the development part with their limited knowledge of the vet industry is much appreciated.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Suggestions to the client to make the project more smooth. Voluntary inputs on specific areas of app development. Research and study more on businesses while taking up respective projects. Effective communication

They’ve customized our approach to social media marketing, and our success rate is much higher than it would be if we’d just put an ad on Facebook. Our business is niche, but they’ve helped me reach the right customers.

They’re very honest and upfront. When we hired them, they laid out the whole project and the different milestones. They communicate clearly and let us know if there will be any delays or changes to the timeline.

What sets them apart is the quality of their work, their ability to deliver on time, and their cost. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. I don’t have any complaints. I spent a lot of time with them at the beginning of the project, so they understood my needs well, so we didn’t need to go back and change things after the fact. They’re very accommodating and I can always go to them for advice on technical issues.

Break the project down into what you need to change and what you want to be customized. I also think it’s helpful to screen share so they can understand exactly what you want, especially if you’re not a technical person.
