Unfortunately, our experience with Webskitters was not a positive one.

What was initially estimated to take one month ended up stretching over six months, with minimal visible progress from week to week — requiring constant follow-ups on our end. Although we believed Webskitters to be a UK-based company, we later discovered that much of the work was outsourced overseas. This led to significant miscommunication and a lack of cohesion between teams.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Pedro was consistently responsive and courteous, and we truly appreciated his efforts to manage the situation. However, despite his professionalism, only about half of the agreed-upon work was completed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Webskitters could have done differently?

Ultimately, we had to abandon the project with Webskitters and hand it over to a single developer, who was able to finish it independently within a couple of months. Even now devs are having to clean up the messy code and awful backend of the site that was built my Webskitters.

We needed help with mobile app and e-commerce development. My customers used to complain about the transaction fees within the app, and I wanted to make the app more comfortable for them and for me.

Regarding the e-commerce development, we specifically needed help redesigning our Shopify website. It was a bit outdated. We hoped this project would increase our sales and give a more refined look to our website.

Webskitters successfully delivered the project, and everything worked well. The project itself is very clean. We didn't receive any complaints about the app's functionality either. Moreover, we saw a significant increase in our sales. We were earning $20,000 monthly before hiring Webskitters, and after the project was completed, we were able to make nothing less than $200,000.

The process began with a pre-engineering workshop which was to be done. We sent Webskitters a draft version of our user stories, and their IT analyst completed the project paperwork using the information. Using this, the Webskitters project manager and I (the Senior Product Owner) created a backlog of tasks in JIRA so that our internal team and the Webskitters team could facilitate agile development sprints. In addition, they furnished us with a UX/UI consultant, an iOS TechLead, and a DevOps engineer to assist the team during the development stage.

The project's product is a brand-new, functional iOS app that supports the current system and is rated 4 stars in the app store. For us, developing the iOS technology was a "greenfield" undertaking that included starting from scratch. Additionally, a new version of the app with updated features and a fresh appearance for Android users was made available. We thus provide reliable iOS and Android products that live up to the expectations of our customers. In order to compare the related support concerns, the project was also evaluated against the legacy application. Both our operations and our customers will benefit from the significant reduction in user support requirements brought about by this release.
