I’m a senior computer vision engineer at Bradken. We design and manufacture custom wear parts and equipment for the mining industry, supplying products like mining buckets, mill liners, and remote monitoring solutions to major mining companies worldwide.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebOccult Technologies?

We engaged WebOccult Technologies to carry out an AI-based desktop application development project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

WebOccult Technologies developed the backend logic that communicated with the neural network for detection and classification. The team also created the frontend UI with analytics on the local dashboard. The main deliverables were the complete tested and validated application software, trained models, and associated documentation.

WebOccult Technologies delivered a complete tested and validated application software, trained models, and associated documentation. I'm happy and satisfied with the collaboration and continued relationship.

WebOccult Technologies followed standard project management and software practices, making it easy for us to understand, communicate, and act. The team met every week for project updates and communicated through emails regularly for any requests, clarifications, or updates.

Their quick turnaround time for our requests related to demos and presentation materials was impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The team was doing well, but one area where they could further improve was effective communication and idea sharing. This could come from the tech team apart from regular weekly meetings. Sharing ideas, innovative solutions, and brainstorming alternative solutions for key challenges could be a part of those dedicated meetings.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked with several Indian development companies and have always had positive experiences. Unfortunately, this particular company has been exceptionally difficult to work with. They frequently ignore messages, fail to meet timelines, and have very poor communication skills. They take an unreasonable amount of time to complete tasks and consistently question or push back on requests without offering solutions.

Finally, I expressed how frustrating and challenging it was to communicate with them, but they took it as an insult instead of addressing the issues constructively.
