BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a director at an emerging startup called Tilly & Jasper. We’re a UK-based organic baby and children’s clothing company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Web Cures?

At the time, we were a fairly small operation that had only just launched, so we wanted to establish an organic web presence. Web Cures joined the project to lead our SEO efforts.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They primarily manage our SEO, assigning a full-time specialist to build up our backlinking profiles and generate content that supports organic growth. At one point, we did use them for paid advertising campaigns and social media, however, we felt they were best suited to SEO services.

What is the team composition?

Their director of online marketing and SEO serves as our main point of contact. Their level of communication varies depending on the task at hand, but I typically interact with him 2–3 times a week.

How did you come to work with Web Cures?

We found them via Upwork while looking for experienced vendors within our budget. After interviewing several agencies, we went with Web Cures because I felt confident that they’d be able to deliver.

How much have you invested with them?

It fluctuates, but they generally charge about $800 per month. In total, we’ve spent around $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work started in November 2017 and is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since their initial involvement, our organic traffic has gone from zero to a reasonable amount of daily unique visitors. We now rank first on Google for many of our primary search terms and have seen a corresponding increase in revenue as a result.

How did Web Cures perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re comfortable with how they’ve managed the project. Because we don’t have any in-house SEO expertise, I more or less let them do as they see fit. They then give us weekly reports about what they’ve done and track the progress. If we have any inquiries, the director is responsive and gets back to us immediately through Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve achieved the objectives we’ve set out for them, and I enjoy the level of communication they offer.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d like to see more of their strategic planning in terms of what they’ll do or focus on next and what we can expect to achieve in the future.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It's important to have clear, pragmatic expectations when working with an SEO firm because it’s a long-term process. You won’t see results in a month or so; rather, it takes time to see progress.
