George Syrengelas: South Coast Sea Foods Co., Inc. is a seafood processing and distribution wholesale company. I’m one of the VPs within the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with We Solve Problems?

AS: We wanted to modernize our IT infrastructure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

AS: Initially, We Solve Problems came in to help us address an email hack that could have been potentially catastrophic for our business. There was a time-sensitive security breach with an international service provider that was hosting our emails, and We Solve Problems helped us execute a solution quickly.

Now, We Solve Problems helps us purchase and install new software as needed. They’re in the process of setting up WiFi in our business, which was not set up by the previous management team. Their team is also helping us to ensure that we have adequate WiFi in our holding freezer so that our scanner guns work properly and all of our ERP data is updated properly. They’ve provided us with both on-site and off-site services.

What is the team composition?

AS: We’ve worked with at least 3–4 teammates from We Solve Problems, including the owner and CEO and the people who directly report to him.

How did you come to work with We Solve Problems?

AS: They were recommended by a friend who owns a company in the IT industry. This friend is pretty well-regarded in the industry, and he said that We Solve Problems would be the only company he would choose.

What is the status of this engagement?

AS: Our partnership began in December 2022, and it’s still ongoing. We signed a one-year contract with them, but we probably will continue with them indefinitely due to our great experience.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

AS: Thanks to We Solve Problems, we have a better firewall, so we now receive fewer spam emails. Additionally, we have a new password manager, so our staff is able to access everything they need quickly. Their team has helped us keep our systems updated, resulting in fewer glitches overall. As a result of these enhancements, more of our staff are using email and other computer-related software systems.

How did We Solve Problems perform from a project management standpoint?

AS: We Solve Problems is incredibly responsive to our needs; it usually doesn’t takes them long to get things resolved. Their team responds as soon as they see our email and reach out to us personally. Moreover, they finish their projects very quickly, so we always know that they’ll get things done on the same day.

We Solve Problems’ communication is also very timely, prompt, and crystal clear. They don’t hesitate to call us if it makes more sense to have a conversation than an email exchange. In addition to email and phone, they also use Microsoft (MS) Teams to share their screen and ensure we understand what’s going on.

On top of that, We Solve Problems has been great at working closely with other service providers when there’s an overlap. For example, they’ve worked with our electrician to run certain wires and hardware as needed. We’re also switching ERP companies, and We Solve Problems has been very proactive at joining the meetings so that they can provide input about new ERP software providers from an IT standpoint — they really care.

We’ve been working with We Solve Problems for just a few months, and they’ve helped us solve some major issues. When they joined, we had the perfect storm of multiple IT issues at once, so they had to address them all. Still, they were very thoughtful at ensuring to address them in a way that was respectful to our budget so that we wouldn’t compromise more urgent needs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

AS: We Solve Problems has incredibly bright teammates who keep up with the latest technology in the space.

Are there any areas they could improve?

AS: There’s nothing We Solve Problems could improve on. They’ve surpassed any expectations we’ve had by leaps and bounds.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

AS: Just trust them. We Solve Problems always has the customer’s best interest in mind with whatever they suggest because they know that those are also in their best interest in the long run.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We Solve Problems helps us with in-house IT work and documentation, which has included securely encrypting our information so that no one can hack us. Additionally, they’ve helped us install our software. For example, they’ve set up 1Password for us. On top of that, We Solve Problems ensures we’re payment card industry (PCI) compliant and help us with the maintenance of our Google Drive client folders.

What is the team composition?

Ashkaan (CEO) and Emma (Client Success Director) are my two main points of contact at We Solve Problems.

How did you come to work with We Solve Problems?

Our CEO found them through LinkedIn.

How much have you invested in them?

We spend about $4,000 a month on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in February 2021, and our engagement is ongoing. We don’t plan on ending their services anytime soon.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We Solve Problems has helped us maximize our network and Wi-Fi capabilities. Now, we have fewer bugs, and our network speed has improved. In our company, we all work remotely with our own work computers. Thanks to We Solve Problems’ cybersecurity and IT work, we can work securely and efficiently from home.

In addition to that, We Solve Problems’ work around our passwords has contributed to that efficiency. For example, they’ve ensured that all of our passwords have 2-Step verification, which has saved us around 12 hours in total because we have a lot of passwords on our platform.

Their team has also organized all of our client folders so that we have secure access. Now, instead of giving all the access to our clients, we have a much more secure way of sending documents. This has saved our clients and us from viruses or hacking attempts. Moreover, We Solve Problems has saved us weeks of work hours because we have a lot of clients.

How did We Solve Problems perform from a project management standpoint?

We Solve Problems stays on budget and within the hours agreed upon in the contract. Their team has helped me fully understand everything they work on, so if there is a problem with our system during their inactive hours, I can fix it myself. Still, if we have an issue within their working hours, they respond immediately and solve the problem the same day. We use Slack, Google Meet, and Zoom for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like how professional We Solve Problems is. They always have positive and helpful energy, and they’re enthusiastic about helping us with anything we need. Being able to work with a team of their level is very comforting. They’ve exceeded my expectations every time, especially regarding their IT and cybersecurity expertise. Although I’m tech savvy, I don’t have their level of expertise, so they’re a perfect partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I would recommend We Solve Problems to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When We Solve Problems suggests the best possible solution to secure your company’s information, make sure to do everything they say and follow each step with an open mind. Some things might be a little difficult to understand due to the technical terminology, so take the time to fully comprehend their services and what they can do for you. Additionally, ensure to keep all your documents secure because the last thing you want is to be hacked.
