What was the scope of their involvement?
What’s good about them is that they have a very flexible profile when it comes to the needs of the project. They also assigned more coders to the project. This flexibility was phenomenal because the client’s initial estimates were off and we needed support. Thus, when we had the highest amount of work, we had 2 backend developers, one frontend developer, and a part-designer. Three and a half developers in total.
How did you come to work with We are Cactus?
I was working in a co-working type of space when I met them. They had just founded their own agency. I knew they worked very well because they were 2 developers and a designer that had worked for another company, and they wanted to dedicate to full-time, backend development work. Since we develop apps and we didn’t want to allocate resources to backend, we started working with them. We have practically grown together, but they have also grown bigger, working with very large companies in Valencia, Spain. We chose them because they used Django and Python, which are very popular and very scalable.
For this big and scalable project that we had in mind, this was great. They are very professional and they are very objective and problem-solving oriented. We have always been able to develop projects in collaboration with them. Whenever we had a technical problem, we knew we could consult with them. I have tried working with other companies that develop backend and it hasn’t resulted was well as with We are Cactus.
How much have you invested with We are Cactus?
The largest project was around $25,000, but we have done smaller projects of $1,500, like our first web page. Other projects range between $10,000 and $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Some of them have been completed and delivered to the client. Others, like the current call center project, are still ongoing. They have continued funding it. It’s a German startup and they have been wanting to update the service. Depending on the month, $2,000-$5,000 go to We are Cactus.
The client is overall satisfied with the developed web tool, Python knowledge, and the project’s cost. However, We are Cactus’ quality of deliverables, compliance with project timelines, and schedules were considered an area for improvement.
