As a startup there was a lot of iteration in the vision for th project and features required, VT Labs were excellent at understanding our requirements, providing a strong recommendation on the best way to implement and then providing timely estimates that they would always deliver within.

The success was really delivering on time and in budget as well as providing addiitonal value by taking the time to understand our core business objectives and thinking about future enhancements and features that would further improve the product.

Yes they were great at communicating, with most communication through Slack and a weekly check in call. Our project manager Anna was excellent and not only managed the development resources effectively was willing to jump in to assist on a variety of ecomm store management tasks as well.

After that, VT labs team improved system stability, site speed, and SEO performance by fixing bugs on our existing Shopify store and implementing a few other changes. They also upgraded it to Shopify Plus, built a new custom Shopify App which handles all the business logic tight to auctions and switched it to a headless architecture.

They customized Shopify checkout and implemented an inventory management system and MLM program. Finally, they turned their e-commerce site into a marketplace. After all of this was completed, they provided post-launch support services.

I had a great experience working with the team at VT Labs. Vlad was our project manager and the main point of contact throughout the entirety of the project. There were also 2 Ruby on Rails developers, 3 front-end developers, 1 QA engineer, a lead developer, and a marketer.

After the first phase of our project, we saw a 70% increase in conversion rate and improved system stability. In the second phase, they moved our e-commerce to a headless architecture that helped us raise $1.7M in investment for our marketplace. The third phase entailed turning our eCommerce platform into a marketplace that had +7K auctions every day without hitting API limits.

This team has no us versus them dynamic; everyone works together easily and frequently communicates any questions, updates, or responses. • Improved speed of the website
• Cleaned up code from previous developers
• Installing pixels

Our website speed improved significantly. Outcomes were hard to measure because we generally have pretty low site traffic so we can't calculate if the edits we made to the website improved the conversion or not. General feedback is that VT Labs helped us get this website to be as close to what we wanted it to be.

I think that the level of customer service was outstanding. Vlad was always available to plan a call and connect in person. They would over-communicate vs under communicate. They adapted to my communication style and joined our team's Slack. Pretty quick response times for most requests.

Despite a bit time difference we made it work very well. I am very impressed by how much the team cares for our business and how transparent they are on all projects.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

These guys kept operating even during the worst times. Our project manager had to evacuate Ukraine when the was started and was back online working almost 48 hours later with the same level of dedication and attentiveness.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I am pretty hands off, so wouldn't bug to get quotes on every small ask, but sometimes small asks ended up being much bigger projects than I anticipated and would end up costing us much more than expected.

So I would recommend to setting time limits on small asks so you don't end up investing a bunch of hours on a something that seems small to be, but is actually a lot more complex to execute.
