I am a project manager in this company. We're based in South Africa and are committed to bringing awareness into people for fixing electrical problems on their own or booking certified contractors through their platform.
For what projects/services did your company hire Volumetree?
Volumetree was hired to develop a system in which we can custom create cases: wherein questions, answers and supporting content (videos, images, pdf) are held that could help end customers to resolve their electronics queries.
What were your goals for this project?
We were looking to increase the awareness of people fixing electrical problems on their own or booking certified contractors through their platform.
How did you select this vendor?
The original coding of our application was done in South Africa and was totally inflexible. I had previously made contact with Volumetree CEO Shivam Gupta and was impressed with his professional approach and understanding of our product. We decided to entrust its redevelopment to Volumetree
Describe the project in detail.
We had an initial system, which had a hardcoded set of questions and answers that could help end customers resolve their queries without getting a contractor on-board. With Volumetree, we built a system that let our clients create custom cases: wherein questions, answers and supporting content (videos, images, pdf) that could help the end customer to resolve the queries.
What was the team composition?
We were assigned a team of three, including a Project manager. The team that was assigned was very professional
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Volumetree was able to interpret our needs from the original coding we shared with them and produce a totally flexible solution. We have launched in South Africa and have already established a partnership with a real-estate company, wherein the solution will be leveraged by all the residents in their properties.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was good and it was well-communicated.

“This was one of their first projects in our industry, but they delivered on all our needs.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the operations director of an online blinds company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Volumetree?
Our clients want custom blinds to suit particular kinds of windows. We wanted a way for users to enter measurements to suit each project.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Volumetree created a table format for users to enter their measurements and get a price quote. It sped up the process of price estimation, and makes ordering much easier. They worked on the backend to convert the measurements into millimeters and make quotes more accurate. All the work they did for us links back to our ecommerce website.
They put everything together, including design and development of the site. We gave them some examples, and they built everything based on our specifications. A lot of the ideas were theirs, and they did a lot with the images and data we provided.
What is the team composition?
I work with a team of three, led by a main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Volumetree?
They were referred to us. I looked over their work on their website and contacted them. I explained what I wanted done, and they came back with a whole proposal with a good price.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $7,500 on this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project was given the green light in March or April 2019. The project was completed in August 2019, but we're still making small changes.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We can check our data through Google Analytics, though the site is still very new. Feedback from our users on Facebook is great, and we hope to have good results after we spend more time with marketing.
How did Volumetree perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management is outstanding. We met through Google, and we also spoke through WhatsApp, phone, and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They took on all the challenges. This was one of their first projects in our industry, but they delivered on all our needs. Their manner was always positive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They did everything we needed. We had some minor challenges with the time difference, but there is nothing they could improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you hope to start an ecommerce site, have a plan. Work out all the other details, and go to Volumetree when you have everything else in place.
Shifting from hard-coded questions to user generated content and flexible coding, Volumetree significantly expanded the platforms value proposition. Their thorough communication allowed both sides to align on a workflow. Customers can expect a technically knowledgeable partner.
