What challenge were you trying to address with Visualized Technologies?

We needed help creating a mobile app for a real estate development that we have in St. Louis, Missouri.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us build our app from scratch, on iOS and Android. The app is all-encompassing for apartments, office buildings, retail, and food. It’s for people to use on-site while they’re at the development.

We work with one contact, and they communicate our needs to the rest of the team.

We worked with Nick (Founder) in the past and had a good rapport with him.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2020, and our work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The work has been very high quality so far. The team is always very responsive and dependable. Anytime we have questions or we needed some feedback, they were always available.

How did Visualized Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly and monthly scheduled calls with the different teams involved. They sent us weekly emails on what the status was. We managed the project via Trello and Figma. We were pleased with them, overall.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re great at meeting deadlines and being available whenever needed. About one month in, we asked them to speed up the deadline process and they were more than willing to accommodate us. Their level of customer service is also great; they’re always on top of things and are always very professional.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they did a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to lay out how often your communication will be from the start.

Design and development of a iOS application for our Travel division.

What were your goals for this project?

Simple & Clean UI/UX, Multiple API integrations, Location specific content

How did you select this vendor?

VT submitted a time & cost proposal that met our criteria, we were evaluating 3 other potential vendors.

Describe the project in detail.

iOS application written in Swift, integrated into our API's as well as multiple other 3rd party API's. The application would present a traveler with reservations made through our platform and give the user access to payment information generated from our API's.

What was the team composition?

The VT team included a PM, UI/UX designer and a iOS developer through the lifecycle of the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was completed on time and on budget, we had an existing user base and change is never easy, however VT created a gradual roll-out plan that enabled users to toggle between the old and new app, easing the transition.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

VT was very easy to both work and communicate with.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They over-delivered, to demonstrate the commitment to obtaining work, they were accommodating on inevitable scope-creep.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The hiccups on the project were mostly on our side but nothing comes to mind on what VT could have done better. Highly recommended.

What challenge were you trying to address with Visualized Technologies?

We needed help with mobile app development to help our customers manage their subscriptions.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired them to build our iOS and Android app. The main goal was to reduce the number of pain points our customers were experiencing while using just our site to manage their subscription.

How did you come to work with Visualized Technologies?

They were referred to us by a friend. We vetted 4–5 other agencies; some offered deals that were too good to be true, while others were overseas and we didn’t want to have to deal with those communication hurdles. It’s been a game-changer working with a local company.

How much have you invested with them?

Our budget for this year is $150,000. We’re still working with them on a retainer.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in Summer 2019, and our work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Both the iOS and Android versions of the app have received a tremendous amount of success. The team really acts as an extension of our mobile app experience development team. When we first launched, within three months, we already had over 20,000 downloads. We’ve definitely seen a sales jump after the mobile app launched. Our retention rate for our customers has been a lot higher.

How did Visuahlized Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication with them is really simple. They’re very detailed from short term fixes to long term goals. Everything has been delivered on time. If you don’t have any mobile app development knowledge, they’re the place to go for sure.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our internal team is small. We don’t have an in-house web development team or an in-house app development team. When we started working with them, it was great how they took our ideas, performed research, and really went above and beyond to reach our goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have any cons I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Setting proper expectations is key because you have to know exactly what you want. Their team will help you bring that to life. Make a list of the functionality you need, and what your goals are, before getting to the development phase.
