We were looking for a partner who understands our business DNA well and is able to express it using visual identification and graphic designs. We wanted our partner to understand our priorities and be able to advise on the most optimal solution for our brand.

The cooperation began with examining our needs and a series of workshop meetings in which we worked together to define our goals and priorities. Visual71 consultants tried to get to know our business and challenges in the best possible way. The next stages were mocking up individual projects of the pages, verifying whether we are going in the right direction and cooperation on the final graphics.

I’m the founder and CEO of Onely.com. We’re a technical SEO agency from Poland, and we mainly work with large and medium e-commerce brands from the US.

What challenge were you trying to address with Visual71?

We were splitting from another company and needed to both rebrand and build a new website from scratch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We developed the website, and Visual71 handled the design work. 

At the beginning of the project, we met with them for a few hours to discuss our business, clients, and other relevant information. The team laid out some logos for us to choose from, and once we’d agreed, they designed the full layout of the website.

Visual71 produced everything related to our visual identity, including a new logo and business cards.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people from their team. Our main point of contact was Staszek (Design Director, Visual71), and other designers.

How did you come to work with Visual71?

We first found Visual71 about six or seven years ago on a recommendation. We knew the scope of their work was impressive, so we reached out. 

When we knew we were going to start this project, we reached out to Przemek (Business Consultant, Visual71) for support.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $123,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Visual71 between December 2018–June 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We didn’t have any specific metrics for the project, but the Visual71 team always produced deliverables on time, and we’re happy with the website they created. 

The collaboration was very successful, and we’d work with Visual71 again given the opportunity.

How did Visual71 perform from a project management standpoint?

Visual71 kept our strict deadline in mind throughout the project, doing everything in their power to finish on time. That quality is unique in the web design space.

All of their correspondence was extremely streamlined. The team kept us in the loop throughout every stage of the project, and asked us a wide range of questions before moving forward with any design portion.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Przemek, in particular, was very knowledgeable about design trends. His keen visual sense was always able to steer us away from clichés or overused themes. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so. The only thing that would be nice to have is more availability. They're usually booked quite long in advance, though that speaks to the quality of their work.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I’d advise their clients to save a little bit of time for the collaboration. They need a lot of in-depth knowledge and information.

Visual71 designed a website for us. They started by asking me a serious of questions over Skype and brought me 2–3 drafts of designs. Once I landed on one, they built it from there. Their team took care of wireframes and mockups and updated my font, color scheme, and branding. Visual71 did some backend development as well.

I work with one point person, who deals with all of the conversations and alterations, but we work with a team of three from Visual71.

They had done work in the past that was in the direction of where I wanted to go with the design.

I have invested around $10,000.

Our engagement with Visual71 ran from July 2018–August 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m completely happy. The language barrier and the time difference were never an issue. The website progress got stalled due to something on our end and they were incredibly patient. Their team was very polite, which is something I’m grateful for. Their team offered to set up Google Analytics for the site, which might help us better understand the balance of things. I really like the end result.

How did Visual71 perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team used InVision to send us updated designs. Our teams also used Skype for conference calls. Their project management was great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication was great. Visual71 knows how to move things along in a graceful way. The design is elegant and sophisticated. Their team takes my feedback into account.

Together with Visual71, we reviewed all of our different printed materials (e.g. flyers, certificates, catalogs) and discussed which ones were necessary and how we could change them to make them more consistent with the overall feeling of our brand. They also redesigned our website because it was a bit outdated and not as cohesive as we’d have liked. They changed the colors, copy, and layout of the different pages, making them match our brand better. The website is nearly complete, with only a few small projects remaining.

The co-owner is our main point of contact.

I was looking for a few companies, and I wanted one that was nearby so that we could communicate easier. A friend introduced me to Visual71, so I met with them. They were extremely professional and had good past work, so I hired them.

They’re flexible and meet our deadlines. Whenever we have questions, they answer them in a timely manner. They communicate well, and we use Slack, email, and phone calls to stay in touch. We also use InVision so that I can see and comment on their work in real time.

We asked Visual71 to create new branding for us. We’d changed our company profile and didn't identify with the existing branding anymore.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed branding that reflected our company, wasn’t too serious, and helped us stand out from our industry competition.

How did you select this vendor?

Our CEO met Visual71’s co-founder at a venue, and then they started conducting initial interviews. They were the only company that communicated with us like an old friend; they weren't vain or too careful.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

We started with developing the new logo. Then, we worked on our primary website as well as a second website with a different persona. Visual71 visited our office a couple of times to get to know us better, as we hadn’t provided an in-depth brief. In the end, we had a new logo, tagline, brand colors, custom pattern, logo book, business cards, PPT presentations, and two websites.

What was the team composition?

I worked directly with Visual71’s two co-founders.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our new branding is cohesive, which was the most important part for us. Our clients always compliment us on our new look. Everything always looks custom-made for each meeting. Clients often ask our sales department where we got such attractive business cards.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We met according to the schedule in our contract.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We’re a busy team, but Visual71 never reproached us for delayed communication. Sometimes, we took a long time to give them an answer because we had to prioritize our clients. They were always friendly and understanding, even when we made the project frustrating for them.

I also value their creativity. We wanted something completely different from everything else on the market, and they did exactly what we asked.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I think we have more to address than they do.

We are a trading company that operates in various retail areas, including furniture and interior design.

For what projects/services did your company hire Visual71?

The company operates mainly in B2B markets, which define our main mission, vision, and visual identification system. Our challenge was to adapt this branding for our commercial network, which has different business objectives than our B2B area.

What were your goals for this project?

We also had to maintain a connection to the company’s general branding and key visuals. That is why we were looking for a partner who would understand our needs on the one hand and who would accept constructive criticism and objective evaluation on the other.

How did you select this vendor?

My team searched and directly interviewed potential agencies that provide professional branding services. We considered price conditions, time of completion, creativity, uniqueness of approach, and ideas and experience in the implementation of similar projects. Visual 71 convinced us with a professional approach that was tailored to our needs and our concept of the trade network brand.

The process began with workshops carried out at the level of staff, management, and the president of the board. During these workshops, the agency presented two different development concepts.

After choosing the right path, Visual71 implemented a key visual design for the trade network. They gave us clear, simple guidelines for developing a consistent brand and marketing environment.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After the implementation of key visuals, we have found it easy to create new advertisements and image projects. Our graphic designers use the new concept and adopted principles to create a coherent visual identity system.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Cooperation and communication were facilitated through direct contact with Mr. Pawlak. He approached everything with a professional, objective approach to achieving our goals.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Visual71 is a small design office that fully commits to the implementation of client-focused projects. I wish everyone had such a partner to work with.

There is always room for improvement. I hope that they continue to offer excellent development while maintaining their unique client approach.
