TA Ventures is a venture capital firm in Kiev, Ukraine. It’s the largest VC [venture capital] firm in Ukraine.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Vintage?

Venture capital is not highly developed in Europe. We were going to invest in not only Ukrainian companies, but all over Europe, America, India, and Mexico. It was very important for us to present ourselves well, so our website was very important for us. We had an outdated website and needed something new, fresh, and clear.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We did two websites with them, for which they built everything from scratch.

What is the team composition?

They had a dedicated project manager.

How did you come to work with Vintage?

Vintage were recommended to us. We viewed their portfolio and it was great; we liked it very much. In our first meeting, we could see that they were familiar with all the stages of website production. They asked us good questions and we could see that they were credible. Their portfolio plus the recommendation from a friend is why we chose them, and prices are also good.

How much have you invested with them?

$10,000–$12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2016 until August 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a good job with design. Our website was very neat and clear. They also did some nice things that distinguished us from other companies in our realm.

How did Vintage perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a great experience with them. Tatiana [Project Manager, Vintage] did a great job, as did the designers. In terms of specific questions and tasks, everything was great. We used phone and email.

Deadlines were also met. We didn't always provide our information on time, but still they were always on time. I never had any problems. We’re very satisfied. My boss has also been satisfied. Everything was very good. We’re always recommending Vintage.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The owner is doing a web design contest in Kiev. It’s nice to see that because he’s doing it for no profit. He wants to share his knowledge and he has a lot to share. They not only do business. They also do things to develop our community. Ukraine is not that very developed in terms of design. We’re a step behind the U.S. and the rest of Europe so it’s nice to know he’s doing that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything was great. I was shocked that level of service was done in Ukraine. I would recommend them to anyone who asks me.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to the manager who is working with them. Show them the questions and ask for their advice. Sometimes there were issues where we didn’t know what to do and Vintage always had solutions for us that worked great. Work with the manager and enjoy the work with Vintage.
