Outdoor Media Works offers a full spectrum of experiential marketing services, from sponsorship advertising to product sampling and content creation.
Vicara Marketing built a new website for Outdoor Media Works using the popular open-source platform WordPress and a premium theme to manage the layout. The project began by converting the existing WordPress website into a multisite network to facilitate the development and eventual launch process.
The WordPress platform was chosen for its ease of use, versatile features and integration with third-party extensions. A security plugin was installed to secure the websites by stopping automated attacks and protecting against plugin vulnerabilities.
Since experiential marketing is all about creating an emotional connection, full page video backgrounds were setup to provide examples of how Outdoor Media Works has helped brands reach massive audiences at live events. A powerful WordPress plugin was utilized to create these video backgrounds that begin playback on page-load and include engaging transitions.
Elementor was utilized as the preferred page builder to create and manage all the content of the website. Page templates were created during the project to facilitate the design process. Additional plugins were installed and configured to setup the under construction page, create countdown timers and manage Search Engine Optimization (SEO) settings.
Vicara Marketing has helped Outdoor Media Works improve the effectiveness of its online presence with a redesigned website that clearly showcases the value of experiential marketing. The website has now become a new marketing tool that enables the company to promote branding opportunities at upcoming events for potential customers.
The Smart Meter Safeguard offers an effective solution to protect against the intense radio-frequency (RF) radiation emitted by smart meters. This device blocks 98% of radiation pulses while still enabling the transmission of electricity consumption information for invoicing purposes to the provider.
Vicara Marketing utilized WordPress and WooCommerce as the preferred open source solution to build the new Smart Meter Safeguard website. The platform was chosen for its ease of use, powerful features and integration with third-party extensions.
The project began with an outline of the pages and sections that would be needed for the new bilingual website. A premium WordPress theme was selected and the necessary functionality was installed via free and paid plugins to secure the website, manage multiple languages and connect with the transport company for shipping estimates. An SSL certificate was installed to ensure all transactions were processed securely.
Vicara Marketing has helped Smart Meter Safeguard expand the reach of its product with an e-commerce website that features a shopping cart secured by SSL technology to ensure customers can purchase in total confidence. A page structure was created that allowed our client to build a library of informational resources such as articles, videos and research studies, which are used to promote awareness about the health concerns related to pulsed RF radiation.
Now that the Smart Meter Safeguard website features bilingual content, e-commerce functionality and analytics tracking, the company is better able to reach a broader audience and track the performance of future marketing initiatives.
Since 1995, Communities in Bloom has been fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through a national program that focuses on enhancing green spaces in local communities.
Vicara Marketing helped Communities in Bloom expand the reach of its programs through paid search and social media advertising campaigns in an effort to increase the number of participating communities across Canada.
We started with a complete audit of their existing Google Ads accounts, both the paid and in-kind ones. The keywords were reorganized into new ad groups to increase relevancy and boost quality scores.
Facebook Ads were also utilized to raise awareness for promotional opportunities offered to participants in local communities. New ad campaigns were created for each initiative, which involved installing a tracking pixel, setting up a lead tracking script, defining the audience demographics and creating the ad content and visuals. A bid strategy was set to maximize conversions and a predetermined daily budget was allocated to each campaign.
The Communities in Bloom existing Google Analytics account was optimized by re-organizing the structure of property views for the English and French websites. Filters were created for each property based on IP address to bring clarity to the metrics by differentiating website activity between visitors and employees who are located in various offices. The account was also linked to the Communities in Bloom Google Ads accounts to gain a deeper understanding of the data by seeing the full visitor journey, from interacting with the ads to completing goals on the website.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founding president and CEO of a small Canadian nonprofit organization, Communities in Bloom. Our vision is to promote the planting of trees, flowers, and shrubs in communities across Canada. We provide advice, guidance, and evaluations for municipalities engaged with us, and we also have international partners.
What challenge were you trying to address with Vicara Marketing?
We hired Vicara Marketing to provide technical support, including hosting our website and making updates to our site. We’ve also used their support for social media management.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Throughout our engagement, Vicara Marketing has provided a range of support. They host our email server and website, continually making tune-ups on it. They make updates on the WordPress platform, as well. Whenever there are any issues, like our emails being blocked or we need a changed password, they manage it all for us.
As far as social media goes, they’ve been instrumental in setting up our Google accounts, opening our Facebook Business, and running our Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well. They design our ads for Google and Facebook. Our team provides content for these ads, but since they’ve gotten to understand our business, they bring their own ideas and content to the work, adjusting wording as needed.

How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent a few thousand dollars on the project throughout the engagement.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since March 2018 and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Because of the work Vicara Marketing has done for us, we’ve seen between a 10% - 20% increase in traffic to our site. For social media, we’ve seen engagement multiply by 10 on a monthly basis. Their work has been excellent.
How did Vicara Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
Their team has been fantastic from the beginning. Depending on the season, we speak on a monthly or weekly basis. When Anthony doesn’t know the answer, he takes the time to research and returns to us quickly with information.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very cost-efficient—as a nonprofit, this is extremely valuable to us. Additionally, Anthony is always up to date on the newest trends. This is important in an industry like digital marketing since it’s always evolving and becoming more complex. They do the right research first to find the correct answer. Also, if we don’t agree with a suggestion or have the funding, Anthony is flexible and accommodating.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They should continue doing what they’re doing. We don’t have any concerns.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It’s helpful to do some homework first. As with any project, being precise is important. I spent a few hours looking at ads from similar companies and it was great to do before contacting any provider.
