We needed to design and develop our company’s website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

VeteranWebDesign.com has designed and developed our site from the ground up using WordPress. Initially, I asked VeteranWebDesign.com to design a user-friendly site and provided our company’s content, including our purpose and vision. 

Moreover, VeteranWebDesign.com has also designed my company’s logo. I've given them a few references and concepts, and they've designed the logo and website accordingly. 

VeteranWebDesign.com is still working on uploading some videos to the site, and we plan to design a marketing strategy too.

I’m only in contact with VeteranWebDesign.com’s CEO. I’m unsure how many people work on his team.

I found VeteranWebDesign.com through a referral from a veteran colleague. I chose them because a teammate from my company and I are veterans too. When I read VeteranWebDesign.com’s mission statement, I felt confident they could take care of our website.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

VeteranWebDesign.com has been very efficient throughout the project. Moreover, the site that VeteranWebDesign.com has developed meets my expectations, and I’ve received positive feedback from my colleagues.

VeteranWebDesign.com project management is good. They meet deadlines and sometimes deliver work ahead of time. VeteranWebDesign.com has guided me throughout the process and kept me posted about their work.

I’m the owner of a company called Arrow Thin Films. We’re an optical component manufacturer that makes specialty products for the laser and photonics industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with VeteranWebDesign.com?

VeteranWebDesign worked on two projects for us, and the original project involved a traditional website. After consulting with Donnie (Founder), he noted that we missed out on a lot of traffic because of our website’s configuration. For this project, we had them come on board to convert our traditional website into a mobile-friendly website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

VeteranWebDesign updated our WordPress website. They went through our site and migrated all of its content to a mobile-friendly platform that featured informational pages, product pages, and capability pages. Their team also gave the product a whole new look.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with Donnie.

We wanted to partner with someone who had a military background because we frequently work with the government. It was clear from Donnie’s website that he was a veteran.

We spent about $1,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began the update around May 2020 and finished this project in July.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

To measure our success, we considered our site’s views and customer feedback. We’ve heard positive comments and a couple of people came back to us. It’s hard to provide metrics because we’re mostly B2B. Our website’s more of a portal for people to find us and learn about our services.

How did VeteranWebDesign.com perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via email and phone calls. After I shared my ideas, Donnie expanded on them based on his past experiences. He managed the entire project, so it was easy for me.

VeteranWebDesign has a great eye for design. Everything he delivers looks good, which is important. He helped to make my small company look big. His communication was also great.

No, we’ve had good experiences with VeteranWebDesign.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do your research to understand what you want. I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted, which made Donnie’s job harder.

I’m the owner of a civil litigation practice. We’re under the umbrella of real estate claims and litigation, business litigation, employment claims, and things of that nature.

I moved my practice from one city to another. I wanted the opportunity to reach a broader audience and get the word out on services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created my new WordPress website. First, they asked about which template I wanted and which sections of law I covered. They also asked about endorsements from clients they could include on the site. Then, they put articles I had written on the website, too.

What is the team composition?

I had one main point of contact.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested approximately $1,000. I can’t remember an instance where they charged me for any fine tuning or adjustments, so as a consumer that made me pretty happy.

We began working together in 2010, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I had an excellent experience. They were very responsive and had a positive impact on the image of my practice. The website definitely helped the business to succeed.

How did VeteranWebDesign.com perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via email. I remember I was taking a trip once and noticed something about the website and emailed them about it. They got back to me promptly and fixed it, even though I wasn’t even in the office. It points to their ability to respond quickly and efficiently to their clients.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were much more efficient and available than another provider I used to use.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In a perfect world, I would have liked more hands-on control over editing and adjusting my own website. It might not be a possibility since I’m not very tech-savvy, though.

Answer the questionnaire they give you at the beginning of the project as quickly and straightforwardly as possible so you can achieve your goals. Make sure to reach out to them if you have questions and follow-up if you need clarification. They get back to you promptly and take care of those things.

I’m the owner of an event planning company. We plan things like weddings, baby showers, and retirement parties, as well as help to set up for the events, send out announcements and invitations, print programs, and work with a catering company to provide the food.

My business has been primarily spread via word of mouth, so I needed someone to provide a basic website to direct my potential customers to so that they could see pictures and information about what I had done before.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built the website completely on their own from the ground up. I don’t have a lot of technical knowledge, so I told them what I wanted, gave them the colors and pictures that I wanted to use, and they handled the design and construction of the pages from there.

What is the team composition?

I work with one person from their company, but I’m not sure how many people worked on the website behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with VeteranWebDesign.com?

Donny had actually served as the IT person for the government agency that I worked for previously. Whenever anything went wrong, we could always call him, and I knew that he did really good work, so when I started my company, I asked him to help me build the site.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost has been about $1,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2018 and he continues to help me whenever anything comes up that I need help to fix.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since I fully retired at the end of 2019, I have gotten over 30 leads just through the website, which is way above my expectations for its performance. I only do 1–2 events a week, so I’ve been very satisfied with the level of interest and success that I’ve had there.

How did VeteranWebDesign.com perform from a project management standpoint?

He has always been excellent at communicating and meeting or exceeding any deadlines that are set. Anytime that I ask him to do, usually over email, he has fixed it within the same day or the next day at the latest. He also takes the time to explain everything to me and help me figure out how to handle the permissions and other things on the site on my own.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of access that I have to him provides me with incredible peace of mind about my business. If anything goes wrong with the business, I never have to worry because of how prompt he is at handling those requests.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’ve had no issues whatsoever throughout our work.

Just be specific about what you want. He’ll take your vision and turn it into reality, but the more detail you can provide to him about that, the better he will understand what you’re looking for.
