Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CTO for Inventory Innovations. Our company provides a cloud based SaaS inventory management platform as well as sales and labor analytics.
For what projects/services did your company hire Veloxcore, and what were your goals?
We decided to convert our existing legacy desktop application to a fully cloud based SaaS application. We wanted to take advantage of the many options that Azure had to offer that were a good fit for the type of business that we manage. Our goal was to become fully cloud based and no longer support a desktop application which would help us with future growth.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We had discussions with several companies and Veloxcore's experience with big data, Angular, .Net Core and Azure were the main reasons chose to work with them. They were also able to ramp up quickly as we needed to get the project started.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We worked with a system architect to get our initial specs done for a full rewrite of our legacy application. We then turned that over to Veloxcore to implement. This is an ongoing project but we were able to get a MVP version of the application up and running in just over 12 months. The key technologies that we are using are Angular, .Net Core, Azure and SQL Server.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We initially started with 2 senior developers and have grown to 2 development teams with 7 total developers currently and expect to continue growing as we add additional modules and features.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to complete an MVP version of the application in just over 12 months. We have migrated 95% of our legacy customers over to this new SaaS application which has reduced and simplified our support allowing us to focus now on growth. We continue to add many new features and modules allowing us to stay ahead of our competition.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Each team has a senior developer that manages the team. We have a daily stand up with each team. We are using Azure Devops to manage our backlog pipeline and CI/CD. We mostly use Slack for internal communications.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They have been very committed to the project and our business. They truly are partners and not just contractors. I like that we have been able maintain the same team of developers instead of a constant revolving door of ever changing developers like many others contractors.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We are currently working with Veloxcore on better testing and debugging. Out company shoulders some of the responsibility but testing and debugging are 2 areas that I wish we had done a better job on from the start.

What challenge were you trying to address with Veloxcore?
We were looking for a partner that could provide remote development resources to augment our staff.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Veloxcore has provided development resources to help us build a web-based translation software. We primarily use a Microsoft development stack, which includes MVC for web development, .NET for app development, and Windows services.

We found Veloxcore through a freelancing platform.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We measure their developers’ success based on their productivity, time spent on tasks, and how well the deliverables meet our expectations.
Generally, Veloxcore’s developers meet, and sometimes exceed, our expectations. They also showcased a very high interview passing rate of 80%, compared to the 30% passing rate of other offshore vendors that we had interviewed in the past.
How did Veloxcore perform from a project management standpoint?
Veloxcore performs well in terms of project management — they manage our expectations well and consistently deliver on time. We utilize DevOps to manage our tasks, implementations, user stories, and overall deliverables.
We primarily communicate via email, DevOps dashboard, and Microsoft Teams. We also have daily stand-up meetings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Veloxcore’s technical skills and resources make them stand out from the other vendors that we’d worked with in the past.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would be great if Veloxcore could hire more resources.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the founder of a cloud application services company that provides file handling and workflow services, primarily to financial institutions, benefit administrators, and NGOs.
For what projects/services did your company hire Veloxcore, and what were your goals?
We were re-inventing a suite of services which had first been created nearly 15 years ago. We needed a team to give us a quick-start as shifted from .Net Framework development to .Net Core. We also needed some overall architectural guidance as we shifted from server-based applications to platform services.
How did you select Veloxcore and what were the deciding factors?
Veloxcore first contacted us in response to a full-stack developer job posting. After reviewing their skills, experience, certifications, and published materials - we added a new architectural job posting and invited them to respond.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Initially, we engaged a senior architect at Veloxcore to "teach" us about some technologies in which we had interest. They provided us with some hands-on training and examples for ElasticSearch and Azure Functions. In the course of that training, we had the opportunity to see code examples (.Net Core) written by one of their senior developers that impressed us.
We then engaged that developer in a full-time capacity for two months to help us break through some challenges we were facing in our .Net Core development efforts. Veloxcore also helped us implement CICD with Azure Pipelines during this period.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Two people worked with us - the Founder / CEO initially as a consultant / advisor / trainer, and then a Senior Azure Architect / Engineer for the latter part of the project.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
It's difficult to measure... Our goal was to learn from the Veloxcore team, and that we did. There are no metrics to share, but they more than met our expectations - offering help and assistance at so many levels.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
We communicated primarily using Slack and tracked initiatives in JIRA. Any project management was on our end, and we only engaged one of their team members at a time.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I have worked with IT teams in India for 15+ years, making 30 trips to work with development teams there myself between 2000 and 2016. I have to say that these guys are among the best when it comes to communication and resourcefulness.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I don't really have any criticism. I'm looking forward to working with Veloxcore again, and even expanding the relationship. We regret that we were only able to use Veloxcore for a relatively short time, as this engagement was not in budget and we could only fund a brief period.
But we're working them into the budgets for our future workload - and expect to maintain a long-term relationship!

Scalable E-commerce Development for Phone Service Provider

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We provide cloud-based communications and phone services to small businesses and residential customers.
What challenges were you trying to address with Veloxcore?
We had an older system, and we wanted to make something that was more like an application and portal.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They implemented a fully scalable system where users can order a phone system that is automatically integrated after purchasing. It’s an ordering system and customer portal all-in-one. With our old phone system, users had to go through an onboarding process and configure multiple things to set up.
They used Microsoft Azure.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a team of three people consistently.
How did you come to work with Veloxcore?
We were working with a lot of contractors to do small tasks. We hired Veloxcore to do a smaller project, but we saw that they could do a lot more, so we decided to bring them on for this larger project.
How much have you invested in them?
We spent between $50,000–$200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working on portal development in July 2018. They’re doing maintenance for some of the projects, but they’re also in development on newer projects.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were able to get through challenges, work through bugs, and make the system scalable. That’s a testament to their skills as a team. They’re not just a contractor, they’re a part of our team, and they worked seamlessly with our in-house developers.
How did Veloxcore perform from a project management standpoint?
We have weekly Zoom calls with them. We also used Trello to manage the project. We have frequent communication with them because we’re comfortable working together.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to figure out new technologies and issues that arise. They learned what we asked them to learn, and they quickly became experts in it. I felt like they weren’t afraid to try new things which helped us come up with unique solutions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have anything negative to say. Any of the problems we had are problems we’d have with anyone because it’s part of the nature of development.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Focus on the technology they use. They’re experts in Azure and Microsoft technologies, so make sure that’s what you want to work in as well.
With Veloxcore's efforts, the company has completed an MVP version of the application in about 12 months. The conversion to the new SaaS application has reduced and simplified support, allowing the company to focus on improving. Veloxcore is a team of experts who are genuinely committed to the project.
