What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
What we do is incredibly niche, and our service isn’t consumer-focused enough to provide standard results such as customer base growth. However, from a technical perspective, actor-based frameworks and event sourcing aren’t widely adopted areas of expertise yet. Still, Artelogic has been able to learn them very quickly and effectively.
Moreover, they’ve been able to stabilize our whole application and rapidly iterate on the existing code base to get it to a much better state than it was 12 months ago. We’ve made far better progress than we were two years ago with a different team. In consequence, our users are incredibly happy with our product, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
How did Artelogic perform from a project management standpoint?
Artelogic’s ability to work within our deadlines is perfect; I can’t fault them in that regard at all. Additionally, they’re very responsive, answering well outside of business hours. For certain situations that require support, it’s wonderful to count on Artelogic’s responsiveness. For example, one of their resources has been working with us for seven months straight — he’s not taking any leave until one piece of work is delivered.
We use Microsoft Teams to communicate, where we have internal channels. We also have daily video calls through Microsoft Teams as scrum meetings. Additionally, we’ve provided Artelogic’s resources with their own email addresses from our company’s domain. Their English level is very good, so they provide direct support to our clients on our behalf, which is perfect.

There’s nothing Artelogic could improve on — they’re flawless and readily available, and the quality of their work is exceptional.

They also helped us create job descriptions and identify key candidates. We were looking for a Java developer with backend skills in Spring Boot and a good level of English.
Moreover, unicrew was involved in the onboarding process. They checked in with the employee during the first days and talked with us when we had some problems.
What is the team composition?
We mainly spoke with our contract account manager. There was also a project manager who was more involved in the project and the applicant.

unicrew contacted us via email about two years ago. After that, we had a talk online and met a couple of months later. We started working on the project together.

unicrew met deadlines and stayed on budget. They responded very fast, and their communication was very good. They also kept the expected time slots all the time. We used Jira for project management and communicated via email, Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
What did you find most impressive about them?
unicrew worked from Ukraine and Poland and was able to create candidates and send them to us for a fair price.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It wasn’t easy to complete the logistics, but I don’t know if they could have done anything better. Due to the conflict, the candidate found it quite difficult to get a laptop into Ukraine.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Take care of the timings and think about how long it will take to get somebody into the project. It will take a little bit longer than getting somebody from your own country into the project. However, unicrew had good communication and took care of the problems by finding solutions.

unicrew meets their deadlines and stays on budget. They've finished the API on time, even with tight deadlines. We maintain our project management system and use Shortcut, similar to Jira. Since we're a small team, I take on the role of project manager and Scrum master.

The developer was part of our team and worked on the project rather than in the background, supporting our software development projects.
Artelogic went through a recruiting process to hire the developer who worked on our project, and we interviewed different candidates. Artelogic supported automation in the Microsoft SharePoint project to automatically translate in a specific use case. We created the design and high-level architecture, and Artelogic implemented the automation based on Azure functions developed in Visual Studio.
The team used web standards or frameworks in Microsoft 365 to authorize and authenticate securely between the different systems. Artelogic also used C#, .NET 8, and packages related to Microsoft SharePoint, such as the MSAL and PNP frameworks.

There were additional one-to-one meetings or project-based meetings depending on the phase of the project. Timeframes were held. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I'm the general manager of a software company that I founded with two of my brothers in 2005. We started this company focusing on developing custom software solutions. Over time, we switched to developing only one software solution, which we now offer as a SaaS. This product is an ERP system with an online shop functionality.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Artelogic?
We hired Artelogic to expand our development team. We were working on rewriting our software's frontend back in 2019, but we had limited capabilities, so we decided to hire an external developer to speed up the development process.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Two developers from Artelogic have joined our team: a frontend developer and a backend developer. These developers work with us on our ERP software. For example, the frontend developer is remodeling the whole frontend side of our software. Additionally, the backend developer has worked with our head of software development and other members of our team on developing custom features. As for the technology stack, we use TypeScript and LitElement for the frontend development.
Initially, Artelogic figured out what we needed by joining our candidate interviews and refining the profile for future candidates. During this process, we had several interviews with candidates, during which Artelogic learned our requirements. They eventually improved their recommendations based on what they learned, which worked well for us.
What is the team composition?
We work with a frontend developer and a backend developer from Artelogic. During the first phase of our collaboration, we were in touch with Artelogic's customer success managers, who helped us search for the right developers for our project. Since then, we have worked directly with the developers on a day-to-day basis, and we only connect with Artelogic's management from time to time.
How much have you invested with them?
We've spent around €70,000–€80,000 (approximately $76,000–$87,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership with Arelogic started in September 2023, and it is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Artelogic's developers are very good. Engaging them to expand our team has worked well.
How did Artelogic perform from a project management standpoint?
Artelogic is very responsive to our questions, and they proactively ask if everything is going well and if there's something they can do to improve their service. They're very interested in having a good partnership, which is very good. We communicate via email and video calls, but mainly video calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The work ethic of Artelogic's developers is very good, and they're very professional in their job execution. For example, they frequently offer reports, track their times accurately, and keep track of their activities in version control frequently. Basically, they always track what they're working on.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything Artelogic could improve on; they're very good.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
We've worked with other companies similar to Artelogic, and they weren't as good as Artelogic has been. Thus, I can only recommend getting in contact with Artelogic and see if they're a good fit for you.

I’m the CTO of Open Room Inc., a Japanese company that focuses on real estate and has been operating for six years.

What challenge were you trying to address with Artelogic?
We were trying to launch our company to the market by introducing a new product. The real estate market in Japan is a bit outdated technologically speaking; most companies still use paper, fax machines, and other outdated processes.
Thus, we were trying to create a website with image processing and AI capabilities so that we could process and digitalize paper documents and images in a way that made sense. Although we did the development work in-house, we didn’t have enough workforce to test the features and ensure a good quality of our software. Therefore, we hired Artelogic to do that for us.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Artelogic provided us with testing services and takes care of our QA process. Given that we’re a very small team, we didn’t have a lot of time to do additional work, so we were lacking documentation. Still, Artelogic dived right into our product and explored it. We were there for them to answer questions and help them understand our work, especially because everything is in Japanese.
What is the team composition?
I worked with two managers and a testing engineer from Artelogic.
How did you come to work with Artelogic?
We found them on Upwork while looking for testing engineers.
How much have you invested with them?
We paid them around $4,000 per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around February 2023. Unfortunately, we just put our engagement on hold because we ran into some financial issues. Still, we hope to resume our contract as soon as possible.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Artelogic’s work had a very positive impact on our team’s morale. As our development quality was improving, our engineers were more confident in what they were doing, allowing them to work faster and with more confidence. As a result, our releases took less time and were less stressful.
Moreover, Artelogic’s work freed a lot of time for everyone on our team. Before this engagement, we even had our business team involved in the testing side as well. After working with Artelogic, we were able to focus on the announcement of upcoming features. Overall, their work made everyone more productive.
How did Artelogic perform from a project management standpoint?
We had no issues on the project management side. Everything was delivered as expected.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?
Ihor (Engineering Director) was great. He kept our communication open at all times and was very proactive in ensuring everything was good. He was excellent at listening to our feedback, and communicating with him was very easy. Thanks to him, I always knew what was happening on Artelogic’s side.
I would also like to give a shoutout to Olena (Software QA Engineer) because she was perfect for us. She was very autonomous and did a great-quality job, so we almost did nothing ourselves.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We really appreciated the fact that Artelogic was very autonomous and explored the product on their own.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything Artelogic could have improved on. Everything was great.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Don’t be afraid to ask for anything because Artelogic is very accommodating. If you think of anything that can improve your relationship, just say it.

We liaise primarily with a project manager from Artelogic who then coordinates the developers and quality assurance team. This facilitated an easily managed chain of communication and also ensured we were provided information in an understandable manor via the project manager rather than jargon from multiple developers.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our website’s overall functionality has been improved both in frontend possibilities and user experience as well as backend aspects of website management and financial monitoring. These are not easily qualitfiable but there has been a net gain in available staff hours for alternative projects as a result of improved website abilities reducing workload.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The primary communication platform I’ve used with Artelogic is Slack for day-to-day communication, we also utilised Trello for providing and managing scope and development with invoicing being issuued via email. All responses were very efficient and language was never a barrier.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Response time and customer service. Very quick response to all queries and whenever there was an issue caused by our older modules Artelogic were extremely rapid in offering support and deploying fixes even in out of office instances
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I have never been found wanting with Artelogic, their team and service level is brilliant.
