Topia - The Financial Independence App
Topia is an app that helps people reach financial freedom. We helped Topia with turning their initial designs and concepts into a fully functional mobile app from concept to production launch in multiple regions.
This involved integrating their financial models for calculating financial freedom, integrating open banking and refining the user experience during app development.

Get Me Fit - Online Wellbeing & Fitness platform
The fitness instructors’ platform created by fitness instructors. GetMeFit allows instructors to setup an online profile with classes that participants can discover & book. We helped them build the first prototype and turn that into a fully functional MVP ready for launch.

Ferly - Empowering women and folx
Ferly exists to radically transform your relationship with sex. How you think about it – and how you have it. Sex is taboo, but it shouldn't be. It should be about as normal as taking a nap or going for a run. This is why we've created a space where you can discover what exactly sex means to you. A space where you're able to lead a life that is pleasurable, confident and healthy. We helped them implement new features and streamlining the user experience to improve retention after their initial launch.

Specialist Health Care Innovation Research
In 2020, we supported the Innovation team at Macmillan with research into the potential an online marketplace could bring by enabling people living with cancer to find and access digital forms of support. To support our research findings, a digital prototype was created and tested with people living with and affected by cancer.

Growyze - Making stock control a breeze
Growyze is simple stock control and accounting software for food & beverage businesses and venues. Scan stock, check orders and see discrepancies. All in one place, anytime & from anywhere. We helped them build a v1 concept to get funding and have been supporting their development team with implementing new features ever since.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm Head of Growth at Thrift+, a managed marketplace that aims to make second-hand shopping seamless. I head up our customer acquisition and retention, and also oversee CX and product on the shopper side of our business.
For what projects/services did your company hire This is Undefined, and what were your goals?
Our off-the-shelf Shopify website was slow, clunky to navigate, and had a number of clunky apps which were not fit for purpose. We also have a large inventory of unique items (everything is preloved and photographed individually) which is not compatible with most standard solutions.
We wanted to build a seamless e-commerce experience so that shoppers could quickly and easily find what they were looking for. Our aim is to make the preloved shopping experience as good as new, to get more people to switch to shopping second-hand.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We wrote a brief and then got a number of recommendations for agencies. We were looking for affordability, quality, and a team who would be responsive.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We did a kick off with the development team and provided prototypes in Figma for the team to build on the front end. We then entered several sprints which included building custom functionality and installing new solutions like Algolia for search, as well as integrating with our existing tech stack. We moved from Shopify front end to a headless build with react.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
3 - project manager, junior developer, and senior developer.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our user feedback has been excellent - the site works quickly, smoothly, and is a huge step up vs previously. Conversion has grown 30% and basket size has also increased.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The team were highly responsive in Slack and we had regular calls to run through Jira and unblock any issues. They worked to problemsolve when we had any issues.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were very responsive, friendly, and committed to getting our site live and on budget.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
When we first started, we mainly communicated in a weekly call or via email, which was too infrequent. The cadence of the project increased in the last weeks before launch, and it felt we could have accelerated sooner to avoid such a rush at the end. That said - we hit our launch date target, and were pleased with the pace of work!

E-Commerce Development for Wellness Supplements & Teas Co
"Their work has massively helped us to get global retail."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of JetFuel You. We sell food supplements and wellness teas.
What challenge were you trying to address with This is Undefined?
We had a Shopify store from a different developer, but we had problems because it wasn't properly set up. This is Undefined came on board and took a list of deliverables to build our store.
What was the scope of their involvement?
This is Undefined built us a brand new website. We initially used an original template, but we ended up starting from scratch. It wasn't easy because lots of the apps clashed with each other. We'd get one application working perfectly, and then we'd integrate another app that would put the other one all out.
They implemented what we designed, so they focused on tech. They integrated a sidebar cart and built the Shopify store out in Shogun to make our product pages look like landing pages within Shopify.
Right now, they do the maintenance, but they've also introduced us to somebody who is one of the top 5% Shopify developers in the world. When we hit a few snags with our store and nobody can fix them, that guy helps us.
What is the team composition?
We’re in contact with two people. Siebe (Founder) is our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with This is Undefined?
Another e-commerce brand recommended them to us.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about £10,000 (approximately $13,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement started in May 2020, and the project took three months. However, our partnership is still ongoing. We'll go back to them with future changes to the store.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve exceeded our expectations. The store is converting really well, and they've managed to make the brand look bigger than it actually is. We look like a huge, global brand, and people forget it’s a small startup because everything has been fantastically and professionally designed. Overall, their work has massively helped us to get global retail.
How did This is Undefined perform from a project management standpoint?
We kept adding things to the project, and they were good at sticking to the budget. On the other hand, we had to manage them to ensure they met our deadlines. We had a weekly call with everybody on the team to keep the project on track.
We typically communicated via Slack and WhatsApp.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're great developers. This is Undefined really knows how to build tech compared to others. I went to them with a list of what I wanted to create, and they were able to follow my instructions and build it for me.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything.
Any advice for potential customers?
When you go to them, know your deliverables and what you want.
