I’m the CTO of Mawi Solutions, a manufacturer of medical device wearables for measuring temperatures and more.

What challenge were you trying to address with UDEV HUB?

We needed more IT staff to go live with our project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team at UDEV HUB helps us with infrastructure, security, and IT-related services. They helped us to migrate our infrastructure from a not very good situation with the newest AWS without any downtime.

Our project was for companies to give devices to their employees, and each employee can measure their biosignals and answer the questionnaire daily. It allows employers to let them know if they’re able to work or should contact their doctor to receive help or get a COVID-19 test.

What is the team composition?

There are three people, including DevOps engineers, that work with AWS services.

How did you come to work with UDEV HUB?

One of the reasons we hired UDEV HUB was because of their expertise in AWS integration.

We invested $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with UDEV HUB started in June 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s been a 100% successful cooperation. Users didn’t have any issues with our services while we were migrating our services. We’re going to continue working with them.

Communication is very good. They meet all our expectations. I’m happy we decided to work with them, and I feel comfortable with them.

Please describe your company and your position there.

My name is Ilja, I lead Product for Calypso AI, an SF-based AI security firm. At Calypso, we are solving one of the most important technical challenges of our time: we build trust in Artificial Intelligence systems.

We have built the world’s first Trusted AI SaaS platform, and we offer consulting and services on the side. Our customers are some of the biggest and most important institutions (public and private) in the world.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ukrainian development HUB?

We hired Ukrainian development HUB to build a front-end for a new app we wanted to demo with clients.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a visually appealing front-end for our newly developed backend, and most importantly we had to meet a tight deadline.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Ukrainian development HUB came recommended through a friend. We conducted numerous interviews with numerous dev shops and Ukrainian development HUB came out on top.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The main idea of the project was to build a tool that could visually display and summarize information from Calypso’s RESTful API. The Front-end part of the project was developed from scratch.

The design and Scope of work were provided. The structure of the Front-end of the project was implemented with using Angular 8.2, Owl carousel, plugins for graphing, functionality for image comparison.

What was the team composition?

The team for the project consisted of two Front-end Angular2 developers, one manager and QA tester. The size of team didn’t change over time.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We successfully conducted numerous demos using the developed front-end.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The workflow was very effective. The communication was always effective and on time, despite of 8 hours' time zone difference. We used Skype for daily meetings and mail for sharing information.

The team brought new ideas and always explained their thoughts, why some way of implementation would be working better than the other one.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The speed and clarity of communication impressed us.

We provide consultancy services around cybersecurity, and my position is the technical director.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ukrainian development HUB?

We had a requirement from one of our clients to deliver cybersecurity consultations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Without giving too much detail as we are under an NDA, the work was for a regional financial organization that needed help in securing their infrastructure. The engagement was a large project that was broken down into smaller pieces, and one of those pieces was outsourced to Ukrainian development HUB. We received expertise from people who knew what needed to be done. Their team worked on-site and remotely.

What is the team composition?

We had four people from their team on-site with us for a couple of weeks.

How did you come to work with Ukrainian development HUB?

Our team found them online. We also had a couple of recommendations from a Ukrainian partner that we worked with. After conducting a couple of interviews with Ukrainian development HUB, we decided to give them a shot.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent around $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the engagement in January 2020, before coronavirus hit. The project is still ongoing but to a lesser extent because of the current travel restrictions.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They delivered our expectations as well as made us and our client happy. We’re extremely pleased with the delivery and how they managed it. Their team knows what they’re doing, and they’re experts in their field. I’d recommend them to anyone.

How did Ukrainian development HUB perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done quite well. Their team clearly understood what needed to be done and engaged with the client directly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been most impressed with how deep their technical knowledge is in comparison to other companies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of any areas other than language skills. The language difference was a bit of a barrier, although most of them spoke English quite well. On a technical level, they were second to none and no one can match that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don’t have any advice, but we’re extremely happy with how they helped us and our client.

I'm the COO of a company with headquarters in Ireland. We're a smart dock-less mobility platform. We offer dock-free electric scooter rentals to fulfill short distance, urban and other trips.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ukrainian development HUB?

We're a startup that needed a mobile application development. UDH developed the app for us from scratch a year ago and constantly maintained it.

What were your goals for this project?

The main goal was to create a simple and user-friendly application that looks for available e-scooters which are reachable on average within a 1-5 minute walk.

Once the user reaches the desired e-scooter, he first needs to unlock it using the application and then start his ride by hopping onto the vehicle. When the user reaches his destination, he ends in the application.

Ride fees consist of a fixed unlocking fee and usage fee which depends on the amount of time during the e-scooter was unlocked.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We've searched the web and got a couple of recommendation from our partners and friends. We spoke to a couple of vendor around the globe. UDH was the most competitive in terms of price, terms and had the same area of expertise as all other vendors.

Describe the project in detail.

Once we selected the vendor we defined the tech specification finally. Proceed to the efficient roadmap with an agile process. The development of the app was always due, any comments have been taken into account. A lot of improvements have been done by the team due to their experience which was very satisfying.

What was the team composition?

The project manager was assigned immediately and was always on contact from the beginning till the end, but I know that 3 or 4 people have been working on front and back end also IoT specialist was available.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The Briz mobile application was designed for ease of use and navigation and available in several languages. Briz app was available with the following functionality:

• account management and history
• payment profiles
• a map which shows nearby e-scooters and the time the e-scooter may be used (alternative to battery charge)
• language options and functionality that allows users to view e-scooters that are available for rent

In addition, Briz has expansive and data-driven operations software tools that facilitate daily operations and reporting. The in-built IoT module will allow saving all the data related to the trips made by e-scooter riders.

The real-time information that our operations teams track allows for ongoing refinement and engagement with e-scooters on the ground, ultimately resulting in high-quality user experience.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager that we assigned was easy to communicate with and provided us frequent updates. We connected over the Skype at least two times a week. I have a good impression by the timeliness if the team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The vendor had very good knowledge about scooter sharing app development, user experience, and optimization. He gave a lot of improvement to our project.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always a lot of rooms for improvement.

What were your goals for this project?

Get an AI that can recognise SKU under different angles of view and different lighting. Make this recognition successful over 85% .

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

All the services, starting from correct technical task to end product was made on a turnkey basis. Moreover, first tests and beginning of the development was made without prepayment. It took us lots of time and several attempts before get the result. But the result was achieved on a high level.

What was the team composition?

Hard to say. We had two people as a contacts for communication. Our interest was not in team members but in result.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The integration of new AI image recognition helped us to move faster in market conquest. At the moment we have approximately tripled our pilot projects with new clients in Ukraine, Turkish, Kazakhstan.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

In the end in a comfortable way. In the very beginning we had some argues about contract, but contractor offer to start without waiting of contract being sight up, on his own risk.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The way they communicate and open in discussion of problems that appears during development of AI.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Yes. We won more than 50% of tenders for image recognition, thanks that our system gives more accurate data.
