We import many inventory feeds from many vendors in a variety of formats and file types. The project was to create a modernized system to import each file, merge it into a common dataset, filter and transform the results as needed and then export the unified data to our e-commerce systems.

We primarily sourced the work from Upwork and Varun was the contact with UCode on Upwork. During the hiring process, he was insightful and eager to assist. His detailed knowledge of warehouse inventory systems was the key to hiring him and the agency.

Initial setup including creating an app and configuring a database which included the necessary data as used by our site. Afterwards, several apis, ftp endpoints and emailed spreadsheets were setup with necessary import criteria. This data was mapped to the common database. This data was then setup for export in multiple ways. Lastly, the application was updated with several quality of life improvements to allow an end user to update the configuration as needed.

The system was intended to assist backend operations which are not tracked in the same way as front end deliverables would be.

We had weekly meetings to touch on progress and review issues. The team worked primarily using an on-prem project management software and access to the software was provided to me by the UCode team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team was very capable and knowledgeable about modern software development. They were very thorough when it came to both development and quality assurance.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The project took slightly longer than initial estimates but this is relatively standard with software development.

In terms of functionalities, the app allows users to put the address of a house and go through a long checklist to indicate which part of that house needs to be repaired or replaced and add notes and estimated completion time.

We needed Ucodesoft to architect the entire back end of the web application, update components based on user feedback, test in beta, and ultimately implement on our live server.

Selected this vendor through an interview process. Their experience in developing similar applications and cost efficiency were the main drivers behind the decision.

Designed and developed a PHP/Laravel-based web application that links to a pre-existing home page for the company. All deliverables were provided through Bitbucket.

The end-result was high-quality and met our continuous updates throughout the process.

Timeliness was good. We had regular calls 3x per week and managed all tasks through Asana. Other than that, communication was handled through email and live chat through Skype.

Their ongoing support and post-launch have been incredibly helpful. Debugging support was also offered at zero cost for several weeks after delivery.

We needed Ucodesoft to develop and design our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ucodesoft developed and designed our site from scratch. In order to complete it, our engagement had three phases. The first phase was all about sharing our ideas with Ucodesoft since we didn’t know exactly what we needed in the beginning. They then helped us set up an original page featuring information regarding our business. 

The second phase was all about enabling our company to perform vehicle inspections. That way, our inspectors could log in and upload their diagnosis to the website. The last phase focused on polishing the deliverables we had given them. They also created an app during the third phase.

We stayed in touch with one main point of contact. She then divided the work into at least three other individuals who were capable of coding.

I found Ucodesoft through Upwork. Upon reading their profile, they worked for a similar company like us — they were not in the same industry, but they also performed inspections. In the end, I chose them because they had the ability to do research for me, and they were knowledgeable in the particular area where I needed my website built.

We spent around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our collaboration ran from September 2018–June 2021. We ended our partnership due to COVID-19, but we’d work with them again on the final leg of the development of our website.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They successfully developed a well-written website. Since they had some background in providing inspection services, they were great at integrating the inspection process within the site.

How did Ucodesoft Solutions Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

They had a good project management process, and 95% of the time they were on target with their deadlines. We communicated using email most of the time, but we’d occasionally collaborate on Skype.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The language barrier, as well as the time difference, were our only difficulties. Since they were based in India, they’d usually take some time to get back to us because they were sleeping when we were working. However, that was to be expected. We also found that they had spelling mistakes on the website, and they weren’t using proper English. Despite that, they easily fixed those mistakes.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a little patience because Ucodesoft Solutions could do great work. Every dollar that we spent on them was worth it.

I am the president of a software and consulting company. We specialize in providing mission-critical services. Our primary function is helping teams consistently execute against difficult tasks and have provable compliance in accomplishing those tasks without error. We use our background in military commercial aviation as the basis for the methodologies we deploy.

What challenge were you trying to address with UCodesoft Pvt. Ltd.?

We needed to build a digital checklist system to make it easy for operators to do the work they’ve been assigned while also proving compliance.

What was the scope of their involvement?

UCodesoft Pvt. Ltd. designed our digital checklist, which was formatted as a mobile app for Android, iOS, and Surface tablets. Their team was responsible for backend work on the database structure, which would house all of the procedures, checklists, and reporting.

They also created our web app, which offers all of the same functionalities. The app keeps all of the procedures organized by customer. It allows for easy icon-driven creation and improvement of our procedures. 

Their team designed our entire UX for all three apps and continues to provide new updates and designs. UCodesoft Pvt. Ltd. also helps us approve products and respond to customer requests.

We measure everything against customer satisfaction. Our customers are happy and satisfied with our product and have continued to use them. We don’t have any churn rate. That’s attributable to the UCodesoft Pvt. Ltd. and how hard they worked with us to get it right. They are enthusiastic and enjoy their work.

They’ve always been able to deliver against deadlines, and whenever they can’t, they’re very upfront and honest. Their timeline estimates are usually right on. If anything has been missed, there was a valid reason. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

UCodesoft Pvt. Ltd. is thoughtful and thorough. You can find a software company, tell them what you want to be built, and they’ll build it. But to find a team that’ll actually think it through and make recommendations is rare. They got involved in our problems and really helped us solve them. It’s impossible to put a value on someone understanding your product deeply.

No, we’re really happy with their work 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Fully explain your problem and make sure to get their input. The biggest mistake would be to push them into a normal development role where you aren’t hearing their suggestions. You won’t get nearly as good of a product.

I hired Ucodesoft Solutions to create a custom API for my clients needs. Due to the complexity of my clients CRM, a custom solution was needed in order for the data to be passed trough properly.

I found them on Upwork.com. I really had a great vibe from the very first meeting we've had when I was conducting interviews to hire someone. Also, when reseraching on Google their company, I noticed that they had really great reviews which was another factor for me to move forward with them.

After explaining in details to them of what I needed, they started to work on building out the API application I needed for my email marketing agency. I personally had done some previous setups on Postman for their tech team to look up and build out the scripts. All I can say here is they have been delivering the scripts I needed but also improving them along the way after testing. It is a work in progress

I was able to launch the needed automations for my clients and will keep on working with Ucodesoft for more tech projects related

Communication is great and done on a daily basis which is really important to me as I need to understand exactly what is going on, especially as a small business owner. We mainly talk on Skype and we use Zoom when we have a meeting

I like the way they handled the project as well as the constant communication. Your investment is worth it with this company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They are improving the quality of their work as we move forward with the final results of this project. They also have great recommendation about things you wouldn't necessarily think about as a non tech person. Overall great experience with this company
