First, they developed our website. They implemented SEO and integration of Google services such as Maps and our Google business profile. They also rebuilt our online ordering system. Next, they revamped our marketing strategy. Before, our advertising consisted of fliers made in-house and distributed by employees at homes and businesses. They changed the way we approach fliers and direct mailings, including offering a lunch special and trimming the menu across our storefronts. Lastly, they provided business strategy, especially in customer service. They advised us to start conversations at the register and over the phone and to pay employees for interacting well with customers. TRIXMEDIA gave us the tools to push us over $1 million in gross sales. One storefront increased its sales from $700,000–$800,000 per year to over $1.2 million per year. Our customer engagement strategy has garnered us five-star reviews on our Google business profile, and we’ve seen growth in our overall customer base. The improved online order system brings 20–30 orders every day when it used to be zero. Also, by streamlining the menu, we’ve saved money on food storage and preparation for items in low demand.

What was the scope of their involvement?

TRIXMEDIA Inc already had a solution that met our needs. Initially, they sent us forms that asked us to detail our goals for the website and how we wanted the platform to look. We provided them with descriptions and images for our products and they put together a new layout and various filter tools that prioritized accessibility for our users. In the development process, our website was only down about three times, but the team solved this, and any other glitches, within a day.

The site uses Joomla as its content management system. Our product selection section features a range of filters that allow users to choose specific colors. Because most of our carpets are multi-colored, TRIXMEDIA Inc programmed a functionality that lets users choose more than one at a time.

In addition to web design and development, the team helped us form a strategy to manage our two different pricing structures. Our customers are categorized in either a tier 1or a tier 2 account based on their yearly spending with our company. The system’s new, and easily managed, backend is programmed to show the specific product prices that correspond with their account type once they log in.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website TRIXMEDIA Inc provided put us in a very good branding position. Customers are able to easily access our new products and browse our collections. We’re a niche market, so people don’t generally buy our carpets online, but the website has significantly helped our business. We are currently working with them on a different project that is more sales oriented.

How did TRIXMEDIA Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

TRIXMEDIA Inc’s project management skills were excellent. They were consistently communicative and responsive. We mainly spoke through email and collaborated on the templates for the website. Despite some delays in providing material on our end, their team still completed the project within their estimated timeline.

They are extremely responsive and stick to all of their deadlines.

Are there any areas they could improve?

TRIXMEDIA Inc could be slightly more cost-effective in terms of their subscription-based service. But, given that their industry is becoming increasingly competitive, I think they're doing pretty well.

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend clients gather all of their data before starting the project. On many occasions, we gave their team unfiltered data and they sorted it, but we always let them know ahead of time. This way, they were aware that they had extra work to complete.

One of our previous vendors recommended TRIXMEDIA because they had a good reputation and great ideas. After studying our company, they came up with a business plan to minimize our advertising expenses and increase our customer service. They then led our rebranding efforts, which involved finding a new name, defining a strategy, and building an e-commerce site. We worked with them to find a new internal POS, and they connected it to our site. Currently, they manage all of our marketing materials and digital impressions.

What was the team composition?

Their team works across multiple locations in the U.S. and abroad. While we don’t know the entire team, we’ve worked with resources from their web development and graphic design departments. We also have direct contact with their owner.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They've completely transformed and modernized our business. We now rank on the first page of Google for our keywords and receive international calls from prospective customers. Several flooring vendors have also recognized us for featuring their products on our site, which has a strong digital presence.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They take care of everything. In many cases, we were largely unfamiliar with their approaches, but they were patient and took the time to bring us up to speed. They also work faster than we do, which we appreciate. We typically coordinate through online meetings. Occasionally, the owner and a few team members come on site to visit.

After laying out the graphic design elements, TRIXMEDIA Inc built out the necessary backend infrastructure and implemented the feature.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Again, the most significant feature they developed was the digital showroom that enabled customers to view our furniture designs within a custom display. I thought all of our customers would find the feature useful and that was a miscalculation on my part. That level of customization isn’t as crucial to the wholesale consumer. However, we noticed stellar reactions from the section of our customers that grasped the concept. People that utilized the feature were highly impressed with its functionality and intuitive design.

How did TRIXMEDIA Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

I wanted a cooperative partnership and that’s what they delivered. Hirbod was always available to us and helped guide me through the process when the technical aspects were over my head. We’d have meetings to discuss development or design options and he’d work on them independently until further decision making was required. He excelled in this role. We primarily communicated through phone calls, but also used email and held in-person meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Once I hired TRIXMEDIA Inc, the whole project felt like a partnership. Hirbod was more invested in each development than other companies we’ve worked with in the past. He made sure to be specific when communicating what implementations were necessary to accomplish our goals.

My main points of concern with any project are timing, communication, and cost. Hirbod succeeded in each of these areas. I can’t recall an instance where they could’ve performed better.

I wanted to launch a promotional website for my self-released album, “LifeAfterLife”, and share my story. I was low on resources and TRIXMEDIA agreed to work within my budget.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Using provided graphic elements, written content, and framework requirements, TRIXMEDIA designed a professional aesthetic for the promotional website. The informational pages and galleries included the brand logo, high-resolution visuals and album imagery, and links to my various social media accounts. Their team connected the site to CD Baby and programmed a music playing feature to let visitors purchase tracks. Additionally, they created a contact function that facilitated safe communication with fans. Now, if I notice any issues or necessary changes, I reach out to TRIXMEDIA and they handle the adjustments.

I worked directly with the owner and a small off-site team in India.

How did you come to work with TRIXMEDIA?

We initially engaged through an employment ad on craigslist. I worked as their copywriter for a while before collaborating on my personal website.

The project was a total of about $1,000. I paid half up front, and made up for the rest in labor.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Almost all of our web and digital presence was handled by them. They helped out with enhancing our branding, web design, and development. I realized they had a lot of knowledge about websites and the digital world. I wanted to give them the opportunity to do a website for me and, after seeing their level of dedication in the work, I expanded the scope more and more. They've done a couple of different websites for me, initially using Jira.

I showed them some sites that I liked the look and feel of, after which they made suggestions. They also advised me on SEO, social media, posting, and trying to get helpful backlinks with authoritative blogs and anything related to my industry. Finally, they took care of copywriting, new introductions, and new trends.

I worked with Hirbod (Founder & CEO, TRIXMEDIA Inc) and his team, but he was my main contact there. My team worked with his team to get a lot of the work done. I found him to be very hands on.

I met Hirbod through my cousin before TRIXMEDIA was formed.

We spent $60,000–$70,000 per year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August 2006 until June 2017. I eventually chose to go in a different direction because what I wanted, what I wanted to spend, and what he could do for me didn’t match anymore.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we started, there weren’t too many people that had really nice websites in our industry. I was part of the early stage relative to most of my peers and competitors, so I saw results because of that.

How did TRIXMEDIA Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed really well. Over the years, there were many platforms and software that we used. Hirbod would input in tasks and we would get updates every day from the team in India. They're detailed and they provide updates so the client knows what work is being done, how much is being done, and the efficiency of what is being done.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really understood my industry, which was helpful compared to other companies I have worked with. In order for a web company to really do a proper job, they have to do good research about the industry as a whole. They really delved into that, and because of that, not only were they able to help me, but also to expand into other similar industries.

They've really come a long way from day one. Hirbod started as a one-man show and for him to be where he is, I have to commend his understanding of the scope of his work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I give them credit for everything they did, but Hirbod always thought that he understood my industry better than me, which is where we sometimes conflicted. I took his advice, and other than that, he knows his field well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They've built a web-based platform that does everything, including keeping a track of inventory, that you buy into with a subscription. I didn’t sign up for it because I don’t want someone else’s platform, but if someone wants that, they're the perfect candidate. The main reason we parted ways was that I didn’t want to sign up for a subscription. I realized the only way I could ever grow was to do things in-house.
