During our project, Trenser assigned three teams of engineers to work with us. The first team focused on improving and developing our AI/deep learning models, working closely with our engineer. They were also part of the team responsible for training our AI models.
The second team was responsible for designing and implementing the user interface (UI) of our application. They created the primary user interface and integrated essential visualization components using GPU technologies. The third team was responsible for annotating large amounts of video data. They prepared the necessary data for training our AI models.

We began working with Trenser in October 2020 and have continued the engagement. Trenser assigned a team of engineers to work with us, and they have been collaborating closely with our engineering team.Now our team has grown to 10 engineers. We successfully built a product and release to market.

As part of our offering we had integrated an open source DICOM viewer to allow our users to better leverage the robust imaging data being used for analysis directly on the platform. At that time, the out-of-the-box functionality was subpar. We needed to add a number of image labeling tools, data type support, and custom functionality in order to meet our customers' needs.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We found Trenser through an online search trying to identify development groups that had experience in medical imaging. After reaching out to them and having the initial discussion, we were pleased with their offering and expertise.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
They developed on top of our existing open source DICOM viewer which is written in JavaScript: React as well as a new custom API service. We first started with early requirements and design sessions to align on the customer needs we were looking to address. Then, we worked together to translate those requirements into our development management system. We met weekly to discuss progress and get demos of features as they were being completed.
At that point our product team was able to review work with key stakeholders and iterate as needed. The final product has secured a number of new customers while enhancing the experience for our existing customers. In addition, the project was such a success that we have since scaled up our relationship with them and they have become an integral partner in our platform development.

We started our relationship with Trenser with three team members. They were a frontend developer, a backend developer, and a technical architect. Since that time we have scaled to a total of twenty two team members spanning frontend, backend, QA, and technical architects.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to successfully launch an entirely new product line for our largest customer which expanded our footprint there and generated new lines of income. In addition, the work done by the Trenser team has been at the forefront of our marketing strategy, been featured widely at numerous conferences and webinars, as well as a key selling point for new valuable customers.

Trenser's project management was incredible. With ever evolving requirements, new customer deliverables, and shifts in priority the team handled themselves with the utmost professionalism and were able to flex with us through out the year. We communicated through Google Meets, Jira, GitLab, and Slack.

We have open lines of communication between the Trenser team and our internal engineers which expedited many aspects of the project. They also consistently went above and beyond to assist us in meeting tight deadlines or chasing down bugs. We are a very customer focused organization. This presents a challenge with resource prioritization towards competing needs of sustaining engineering and new product design. We hired Trenser to augment our US based engineering team to address this challenge. Our goal was to have dedicated sustaining engineering and new product design teams to continue designing innovative camera products without compromising the quality of support to our customers.

We found them through a referral. Since customer satisfaction is of utmost value to us, we needed a reliable partner that was committed to providing excellent customer support by leading the sustaining engineering effort.

Trenser was initially engaged to handle the sustaining engineering issues related to camera firmware. After witnessing Trenser team's success at reducing our sustaining engineering backlog significantly, we augmented our US based engineering team with a dedicated new product software development team from Trenser very soon after. Trenser team uses an Agile Kanban workflow for the sustaining engineering and test automation tasks and an Agile Scrum workflow for the new product development.
Trenser delivers all necessary engineering documentation for each new feature implementation. This includes software specification, UI mockups, design diagrams such as class & sequence diagrams etc. Trenser uses a vast array of software tools and technologies to help us deliver robust and innovative products to market. This includes C/C++, C#, SQL, HTML5, JavaScript & web UI frameworks, SNMP, RTP/RTSP, SoapUI etc. to name a few.

Due to the recent global supply chain issues, we had to design in more readily available components into our cameras as a replacement for hard to obtain parts. With the help from Trenser team, we were able accomplish this design change in a very short span of time and without affecting our production schedule.

The project management style is very effective. The daily concise updates from the project manager help us to keep track of the project status. We use Microsoft Teams, JIRA/Confluence for communication.

I am most impressed with Trenser teams’ ability to work as an extension of our US based engineering team for around the clock development. Trenser team uses the collaboration tools very effectively to help bridge the time zone difference between the US west coast and India.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
While communicating with most of the Trenser engineers has been very easy, there were few cases where it proved to be challenging to engage new team members. This was communicated to the project manager and the leadership team at Trenser. The leadership team has since organized several training sessions to improve communication skills and I see significant improvement in collaboration between the Trenser team members in India and our US based engineering team.

We aimed to develop a cloud-based document management system for one of our clients. We didn’t have much expertise in developing cloud-based technologies and mobile applications, so we reached out to Trenser.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Trenser has provided us with cloud engineers and application developers to help us develop a cloud-based document management system. We shared specifications and met with their engineers to develop a plan for the system.
With Trenser’s help, we gathered the requirements and built a customized Azure Cloud system from scratch. The Trenser team has been responsible for designing the software, programming, and testing it. They’ve also replicated the system into a mobile application for iOS and Android use.

We’ve worked mainly with the cloud engineers and application developers at Trenser.
How did you come to work with Trenser Technology Solutions (P) Ltd.?
We had collaborated with Trenser’s senior managers before they established the company a few years ago. We’d worked very well together and built a trusting relationship, so when they branched off, they approached us to collaborate on technology projects.
We researched Trenser and found they’d also developed sophisticated medical image processing technology. They were also well-versed in AI and cloud-based technologies and provided a competitive price structure, so we introduced them to our leadership team. Once our team approved, we formed a strategic partnership.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Trenser has helped us develop a system that has enabled our client to store their data electronically instead of on paper. Now, our client can manage their documents more easily, decreasing their workload and increasing their efficiency. Our client has shared positive feedback regarding the technology; they’ve been delighted with the user-friendly interface.
Since the system is cloud-based, it’s also very easy for us to expand capabilities as needed, which has been nice. We’ve included Trenser in meetings with our other customers who’ve asked us to develop similar systems to fit their needs. Trenser has created customized proposals for our other clients, and we’re excited to continue collaborating with them to deliver the tool to more customers. The partnership has been invaluable.

Trenser has been a great project management partner. They typically send us weekly schedules, and we meet twice weekly to discuss progress and review reports. We usually communicate via email, Zoom, and Teams. Regardless of our language barrier, Trenser has orchestrated an efficient workflow.

I’ve been most impressed by the level of expertise Trenser has delivered for the price they’ve charged. The Trenser team has provided cost-effective solutions that have allowed us to strengthen our partnerships with our own clients. We really value the partnership.

Since Trenser isn’t located in Japan, they don’t provide as much documentation as we’re accustomed to. We require robust documentation, including design specifications, functionality, and detailed testing reports, so that would be one area for improvement.

I advise involving Trenser in your project at the beginning stages when you’re still trying to define the specifications. Creating the best possible engineering solution will be difficult if you don't have many engineering specialists. Trenser can help you design specifications upfront to craft the best solution. Also, meet regularly to ensure the project outputs are meeting your expectations.

We focus on enterprise software, including mobile apps, web apps, and enterprise applications, but we don’t have all that expertise in-house. Over the years, we’ve partnered with Tenser to work embedded in our system doing product engineers, helping us solve whatever problems we run into. In this particular engagement, I needed reference work done for an IoT yacht solution. Their responsibility was to create the hardware, firmware, and associate mobile app.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed our frontend, backend, and the layer that communicates between them. The backend is responsible for communicating with the sensors on the yacht.
There are two main functions of this application: collecting data and using the data. We have a number of sensors including fuel sensors, speed sensors, location sensors, flow meters, etc. This data is displayed on dashboards, which allows the information to be used in calculations of fuel efficiency and other metrics. They also built the sensors themselves.
What is the team composition?
They assigned a project coordinator that was a one-stop shop. They acted as a front-facing person for a 5–6-person group, which included a large number of developers, including a mobile developer and a cloud developer.

We started working with them a long time ago after one of our business partners introduced us. After some of their teammates came to work with us on-site, we began using them on more and more engagements whenever we have IoT needs.

This was a code development project, so the result was that we won the next phase of work based on what Trenser developed for us. I’m sure our client had another result, but we were happy that we impressed them and stayed on time and on budget.

Generally, we worked in two-week sprints. We communicated through daily stand-ups and had occasional meetings doing retrospectives. Depending on who from our side could attend the meetings, Trenser would escalate issues as necessary.
They did an outstanding job on the project management because they understood our iterative process really well. The communication that supported this process was strong as well. Our time zone different was initially a concern, but that didn’t end up being a problem.

The initial phase was a bit slow, but I’m not sure whose problem that really is. It would have been faster if they could have come to our office. Once we got over that initial hump, however, everything was good.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Give them the full version of the product. Sometimes with outsourcing, you can only provide the top-level specifications, like I want a certain widget painted red, but if you give Trenser the full story, they’ll be able to leverage their expertise and ensure that red is the color that you actually want.

I’m the head of technology for a medical technology company. We do surgical planning and delivery technologies for joint replacement surgeries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Trenser Technology Solutions (P) Ltd?
We brought them on mainly for custom software development services in the medical imaging space.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They’ve developed custom software for us, in particular physical planning applications. We normally provide them with specifications, wireframes, some initial testing data, and acceptance criteria. One application manipulates 3D geometry in 3D space and overlays different objects on the space so we can report where the intended implants are for a particular patient. So essentially, it’s an interactive software to position multiple 3D optics.
Trenser has also built other applications. Another solution involves integrating different tracking technology, tracking different physical objects in space, and navigating physical objects relative to each other. In a sense, it’s like a GPS system for surgery.
What is the team composition?
We work with about six developers.
How did you come to work with Trenser Technology Solutions (P) Ltd?
We were seeking an outsourced company that had experience in the medical space and in understanding the regulatory requirements in developing software applications. Our team found Trenser online through a job ad we posted on a platform. One of their account managers reached out. Trenser matched the profile we were looking for. They had a strong understanding of the quality management systems required and the regulatory requirements in terms of testing and software traceability for medical devices.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested just over $1 million AUD (approximately $777,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement started in February 2017.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
By working together, we managed to get the developed software applications CE-marked and TGA-regulated, which is Australia’s regulatory approval process. That’s a really good measure of success. The software increases our productivity and efficiency in preparing physical plans for surgeons. The applications integrate into the physical navigation environment.
How did Trenser Technology Solutions (P) Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is pretty good. There are a few misses but overall, it’s good. We run in scrum and use an agile approach. We have daily standups and sometimes do extended standups so we can discuss more things with them such as reviewing the backlog or doing some testing. Our current process is to communicate through Jira on specific tasks by leaving comments or updating the descriptions. Aside from that, we typically chat on Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their understanding of the regulatory requirements in the medical device space as well as their technical capability in building high-performing software applications.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s always room for improvement. Communication could be a lot more frequent and effective. Even though we have put processes in place, it can still use some work. Additionally, we would previously have their engineers come to our office to help with the overall understanding of where the project is going. Obviously, everything has been online for the past year and a half so things have been difficult. Having more frequent face-to-face correspondence would be beneficial.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Fully specify your requirements before assigning tasks to them. They seem to work best when we have all the requirements fully defined and the testing pathway is clear.

An engineer from Trenser visited our (my) LinkedIn profile and website and contacted us. We held meetings and decided that each other's skills and experience were reliable.
We received a request from a major Japanese medical device developer to select a company that can develop new CT algorithms. Trenser was selected from several Japanese R & D companies because it is good at developing embedded systems.

Trenser implements the planning by LISIT. LISIT develops computer programs, creates IEC-compliant documents, and verifies clinical practicality. Trenser was in charge of verifying the accuracy of the program.

There were 4 people in the core team, including a project manager, 2 senior computer programmers, and a Japanese translator.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The project is a joint contract under NDA from a major Japanese medical device manufacturer. It cannot be opened to the public.

Thanks to their specialized programming ability for medical images, it is possible to develop embedded systems.

If Trenser had hired a diagnostic imaging doctor or medical technician (such as a radiologist or medical physicist), I think communication with LISIT would have improved further.
It has the ability to contribute to national projects of medical-engineering collaboration such as clinical image analysis using CT, MRI, and PET in Japan and India.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They’ve developed a variety of solutions including web applications (using mostly React), server applications, cloud solutions, mobile apps, and firmware. Rather than providing more of the same capabilities we have in-house, they always bring new capabilities to the table.
How did you come to work with Trenser Technology Solutions (P) Ltd?
I met them while I was on a business trip to India visiting a company that they branched out of. I had a very good experience with them while they were still part of that company, so I stayed with them as they made their own way.

We’ve been working together since January 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Tresner Technology Solutions owns their deliverables and are always very flexible. Recently, I’ve gotten a new project started in just two weeks; with enough planning, they have the resources to ramp up quickly.
Their concern for customer satisfaction and drive are why I like working with them. I know I’m going to have a good experience, which is why I keep bringing them to new projects. We’re increasing our investment with them, adding more resources across other products.
How did Trenser Technology Solutions (P) Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
As long as you’re clear about your expectations, they’ll know what to do. They don’t necessarily have a specific style, but they have dedicated project managers who adapt their style to whatever the client’s needs are.
Trenser Technology Solutions fits into established systems, which means Azure DevOps on my team, in addition to Microsoft Teams calls. Weekly and daily sync-up meetings help us stay on track. These are interactive conversations.
In some cases, they will project manage, meaning I’ll give them the problem and they’ll handle it end-to-end. In other cases, depending on the specific customer, they work with in-house project management resources. I’ve also seen Trenser excel in hybrid situations where they manage a portion of the project that dovetails into a larger scope.
My development lead is always responsive, even to the point where they answer on weekends. Trenser Technology Solutions doesn’t hang up the apron at five PM like other outsourcing companies. They’re truly dedicated to their customers’ success. This is very refreshing in both my software business and my consulting business.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Tresner Technology Solutions reaches across projects if somebody needs them to. For example, if we’re running a hardware project and need expertise on the team that we didn’t have, then they provide internal mentorship to my team. That support has been very useful. They assign these mentors on a part-time basis.
They proactively troubleshoot things without me asking, as well. This sense of ownership comes from the top down, from the CEO and CTO down to the individual developers. Everyone is dedicated. I’ve noticed them working crazy hours — it might be 10 PM there in India on a Friday, and they’re making last-minute fixes that I need for Monday.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of any overarching changes needed.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
This is generic advice, rather than Trenser-specific, but make sure you’re clear about what you want. Don’t expect a vendor to know your domain. Provide the background for your requests, rather than just the requirements, to get the best results.

I worked at HP for a number of years. My software colleagues worked with Reps for various India based software companies. A quick conversation with this Rep pointed us toward Trenser.

Trenser customized Ultimaker Cura 4.8 and 5.0 to create WuxnSlicer. This required some source code modification to create our color scheme and branding. Additionally, a number of files that contain printer parameters, material details, and print profiles had to be modified to conform to our 3D printer. We selected BTT TFT as our interface. Trenser created our f/w foundation that we use to drive the TFT and manage tap/touch selections. This tool allowed Wuxn f/w engineers to customize and tailor performance and desired behavior

Varied, but at a minimum: 1 Program manager, 1 developer, 1 tester.
