Challenge

Our team had to develop a customized landing page that drives new registrations. We needed to create a logo, build a landing page from scratch, design icons and illustrations. The customer also required multi language and a responsive layout that adapts to different devices.

Solution

We’ve developed this landing page from ground zero according to guidelines our

client briefed us with. Concept, design, development, responsivity and multi language were on our side. To reach the main goal (conversions) we’ve used attention grabbing headlines, included images and consumable copy, placed the form at several points of the customer journey, limited the overall number of questions on the form. As a result we’ve got the simple and clear landing page.

Challenge

TSI Analytics Inc. provides a comprehensive solution in the analysis of the cryptocurrency market. They has been developing a new tool and needed to extend their development team. We were tasked to locate 3 full stack developers fast to launch MVP on the scheduled date.

TSI Analytics Inc. CTO managed the development process himself, so outstaffing model

sounded great for him. We were ready to locate appropriate candidates in 5 days after careful CVs review and initial interviews. We conducted interviews with several potential vendors, which were previously selected by analyzing their presentations. We made a decision based on a number of criterias. Among them were hourly rates, references from their clients, length of the hiring process, case studies on mobile app development, simplicity of cooperation, company background (number of employees, tech stack...).

TrendLine Global found a team that worked on the project from UI/UX design to release. We required input from UI/UX designers during the whole project. The development took less time than wire framing, designing and creation of moskups. So we involved some team members from time to time.

There was only 1 designer working on the project and there were times when 3 designers, 5 developers and a PM were involved. This has allowed to save budget on those stages when a full team was not needed.

What was the team composition?

Our team includes 5 software developers, a project manager and 3 designers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Now we have the app, we had in mind. Additionally, we were able to extend our development team asap due to using staff augmentation.

Communication go really easy, because guys speak English fluently. They're not overloaded with projects, so they engage completely in the process.

TrendLine Account manager made our communication easy and regular, and the project manager monitored developers’ productivity. It was an interesting experience, TrendLine developers were fully integrated in our development process and became a part of our friendly team.

I’m CEO at the company which is operating in the digital marketing area globally.

For what projects/services did your company hire TrendLine Global?

It was the development of a video streaming app for our US customer, which had to be completed in 6 months and met the required functionality.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to get a fully functional app operating with a relatively low budget. In fact, we needed extra developers for this project.

How did you select this vendor?

Our partner said outstaffing could work in our case. He even recommended few vendors. We called them and chose the one who offered affordable price and timing.

Describe the project in detail.

We picked remote developers and built the project in a way in which only the developers needed for the stage were working on a project. At some stages 4 engineers were working, at some — just one. We were managing the project ourselves. And TrendLine was dealing with back office expenses, employer taxes and loyalty programs.

What was the team composition?

We worked with 3 backend developers and 1 frontend developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

TrendLine Global helped us to make a good app within the required timescales.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We talked via Slack. They communicate well. We appreciate that they provided us with the account manager who helped to avoid miscommunication if happened. We also had a weekly call to update the progress of our project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their engineers didn’t require too much guidance and could manage their job almost independently. We truly appreciate that employees can work with approved backlog autonomously. And we were really surprised that it is possible with remote staff.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing comes to mind.

We were considering outsourcing as a way to create a website. But after seeing the article about outstaffing we became interested in it. It was some kind of “how-to save on development”. The author of the article was TrendLine CEO, so we decided to continue with them.

We had a clear vision of what we wanted to achieve, so TrendLine Global found an excellent web developer to do a scope of work. He was working full time on our project from their office. At the beginning of the project we approved a list of things to be done, then had weekly skype meetings to update the development progress.

It was quite effective, we had no problems with it.

Outstaffing is the most impressive thing about TrendLine Global. It is a more reliable model of hiring than freelancing (because developers are employed by a reputable company), but cheaper than outsourcing.
