Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chef and owner of a restaurant I’m starting called Let’s Get Loaded.

What challenge were you trying to address with ThumBrand?

My menu is highly customizable. We have add-on options where customers can really customize and personalize their french fries. This is why I needed somebody that could design a website with all the customization options and moving parts, and also compatible with Square.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Apart from designing and developing the website, they also provided the hosting platform, Photoshopping, and set up my Square business account. I gave them ideas of how I wanted the website to look and they did most of the research themselves. I gave them my menu, showed them the customization options, and told them how it needed to look. 

The core features we requested were the delivery of the website through Square, drop-down customization, page development, and the menu — they based the theme of the site through the logo that I designed, and took care of the design aspect of the entire project.

What is the team composition?

I spoke with Jonathan (Co-Founder) originally, and he passed me on to Tyler (Co-Founder & Chief Content Officer). Tyler had a group of people who worked with him, but I specifically only talked to Tyler.

How did you come to work with ThumBrand?

They were recommended to me by another chef who hired them to design their website. We also went with them based on price point since opening a restaurant can be very expensive — ThumBrand was not only good, but they were very cost-effective.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent a little over $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–May 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I wish I could show the website because their work truly speaks for itself. The fact that I’m spending my time doing this review when I should be opening up a restaurant speaks volumes that ThumBrand is worth the time and weight in gold. Additionally, working with them was really simple — once it was in their hands, I didn’t have any stress about whether or not my website was going to be done well.

How did ThumBrand perform from a project management standpoint?

Their performance was 10 out of 10 — they were completely transparent with any issues. When the project started, they made me aware of the challenges, but assured me that they can still do it. By the end of it, all the issues were fixed and everything looked fantastic. We typically communicated via email, and they sent me recorded videos on how to navigate the website and check things out before it was launched. The videos were very informative and easy to follow.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I would say that the ease of working with them was amazing. They made it really simple and comforting to put a website together.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This is the first website I’ve ever built and it was incredibly easy. There’s nothing they could improve on because their customer service, product, and price points were amazing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend being upfront and honest about what you want, and go into the meeting with a little bit of guidance — they’ll get back to you with a lot of stuff.

Excellent responsiveness, great team to work with, and they always find a way to keep the client happy - which I was - very!

The can-do attitude. At every stage they held my hand and suggested great solutions to make the end product awesome.
