Thrive Design has designed and developed a WordPress website for a medical spa business. Currently, they work on content, blogs, keyword research, backlinking, and other SEO efforts to boost the website.
Since the website has gone live, the client’s business has grown, and customer calls have increased. Thrive Design has stood out for their knowledge and expertise. The team manages the project well and uses Loom to provide support. Overall, customers can expect great communication and service.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a physician; I own Glow Medispa in Seattle. We’re a medical spa with two locations. Sometimes I see patients, but I mostly run the business.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Thrive Design?
Our website was clunky and messed up, so we needed to redesign it completely.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Thrive Design developed a new WordPress website for us and migrated it to a new server. Initially, we reviewed the proposal and had a series of video meetings to discuss our goals. Then, we went through the design and development phases. Thrive Design worked on all the building blocks to compose the website’s pages. We also went through a content phase, which meant a lot of work on our part because they weren’t content writers.
They’re currently working on our ongoing SEO efforts to boost the site. First, they optimized all the pages for SEO and provided a month of follow-up after we published the site to ensure they fixed anything that was slightly off. The team continues with the SEO project, which includes different components to maximize each page. They’ve worked on content, blogs, keyword research, and backlinks, and we try to help with blogs and media.
Additionally, Thrive Design also works on increasing the site's speed and provides hosting services.
What is the team composition?
We routinely deal with three teammates, and an additional person occasionally provides information.
How did you come to work with Thrive Design?
I met the founder many years ago when I was starting my business. When I was looking for a new web host because we had to move the website, I found him again through a search and recognized him. I reached out to him; he was a smart guy, so I decided to go with Thrive Design.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $25,000 on the website. The SEO project is ongoing, and we pay around $2,200 a month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2021, and the website went live in September 2022. However, our relationship is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website went live a month ago, and our Google Analytics has shown a big boost. Our business continues to grow, and calls have increased.
How did Thrive Design perform from a project management standpoint?
Communication is great. One team member is in my time zone, so he’s the fastest to respond. However, our main developer is in Australia, so he’s awake when we sleep, and vice versa. If we reach out to him during our work day, we can’t get a response until the next day.
Besides email, Thrive Design uses a lot of Loom videos, which are pretty handy when they try to show us something.
What did you find most impressive about them?
When someone is smart and skilled, I think they’re worth the money because it’s hard to find those people. Thrive Design doesn’t know anything about our industry, but they know everything about web development and SEO. Our original mistake was hiring a marketing company targeted to our industry. However, they weren’t good web developers. On the other hand, we’re happy with Thrive Design because they know what they’re doing. Their team is great.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They have a ticketing system for website maintenance, but there aren’t ways to follow the progress. We can’t see where it goes or what’s happening.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They'll be an excellent choice if you’re willing to put in the time to create the content. Thrive Design is worth the money, and they’re great at what they do.

Thrive Design fully redesigned a website for an investment firm, going through an iterative process to ensure consistent branding messaging.
Thrive Design ultimately increased the client's engagement up to 150% over six months. In addition to the quality of their work, the team was also very responsive and helpful throughout the engagement. Notably, the vendor created a 90-second video showing solutions to one of the client's issues.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a Portfolio Manager at Leeward Financial Partners, a registered investment advisor that provides investment management services for primarily high-net-worth individuals.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Thrive Design?
We started Leeward about five years ago and our headcount is still only three. None of us had any web design experience, and our business model has essentially hinged on leveraging service providers for all business components not directly related to business development, financial planning, and portfolio management. It made sense for us to hire an external provider to create a high-quality website that our clients could access to learn more about our company, process, and access the resources we create internally for their use.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Timely responses to inquiries. Professional expertise.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Brand design, including colors, fonts, graphics, and logo. Website Design - consistent with branding, and messaging.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Prospect engagement up 150% over 6 month period.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Workflow was seamless
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
On top of the responsiveness, attention to detail, and technical knowledge, what I've really enjoyed is how the members of the team have leveraged technology to answer our questions efficiently. I reached out about an image hosting issue and within an hour, Thrive had put together a 90 second video showing exactly why I was having that particular issue and what I needed to do to remedy the issue. As a visual learner, this approach was very helpful for me in that I was able to view the solution on my own time, I had the ability to go back and reference the solution, and we didn't have to fumble through setting up a call and then screen sharing.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing to add here. Thrive put together a top-tier website for us very quickly. They've been incredibly helpful and quick to respond to all of our questions.

Thrive Design has developed a website for a Salesforce consulting company. The deliverable is a website that’s clean, professional, and authoritative. The team also provides hosting and maintenance services.
The company is happy with the website, which impresses the customers and leads that visit it. Thrive Design manages the engagement well and communicates efficiently with the client. Their request and approval process is seamless, and there’s a clear signoff process in terms of development.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder and CEO of a Salesforce consulting company. We provide services to nonprofits that use Salesforce.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Thrive Design?
We had a Squarespace website, but we needed a more professional website that could validate us as a professional company. Our team didn’t need a lead generation website; rather, we needed an authoritative platform for our customers and prospects. We wanted to show that we were legitimate.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Thrive came in with a WordPress custom-designed site that was clean and professional. At present, they’re hosting our website and do monthly maintenance. They help me any time I need anything, such as backend support.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Noah (Founder & CEO) and a designer.
How did you come to work with Thrive Design?
I found Thrive through references. Apart from that, I’d known Noah personally but not as the CEO of Thrive. When I was looking through my network of people who built personal websites, I decided to talk to him. They seemed like a good fit, so we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
The original project cost around $12,000, but because of the ongoing maintenance, our investment has been about $15,000–$16,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Thrive in November 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
A lot of people hear about us through word of mouth and common connections, and when they go to our website, they seem impressed and think that we’re a global firm. They’re pleased with the quality of the platform. In other words, the site is doing its job as an authority platform.
How did Thrive Design perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate mostly through emails, and they’re super responsive. Noah and the designer are truly communicative. The way they process requests and approvals is efficient. There’s a clear signoff process in the build process. I don’t know what their backend tools are, and they’ve been truly helpful in the design and development process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Thrive’s attention to detail, quick response times, and overall friendliness are impressive. I know that they’re working for my goals, and that’s super helpful — it’s delightful to work with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. If anything, we’re the ones slowing down the delivery of the content. The Thrive team is always ready to move forward.

Thrive Design has built a user-friendly site that has helped improve page views and has already started generating leads. Responsive and transparent, the team communicates effectively using Zoom, email, and Loom. Their personable approach and drive to get the best possible result stand out.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the sales and marketing director for PracticeCFO, a CPA and financial firm for dentists. My role involves managing client outreach, new prospect outreach, internal communication, and culture. I also ensure our branding is great for clients and our in-house team.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Thrive Design?
We had been unhappy with our website for a while because it was dated, so it was time to hire somebody to redevelop it from scratch. Our company is in a niche market, and we wanted our site to help us stick out. We have great reviews on Yelp ad Google, from which we get a decent amount of leads, and we also wanted to have a website that we could use to our advantage.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Thrive Design built our website from scratch using WordPress. The site’s main goal is to show who we are and get leads. We’ve updated content from the backend while the team takes care of the more technical side. I’m the liaison between our CEO and Thrive Design to communicate requirements. We requested them to base our new site on our business model; we utilize separate teams, and the site needed to reflect that.
On the new website, users can look through our four CFO teams and see highlights of their differences. Each team page contains a video with the CFOs introducing themselves, and some sections point out their philosophies. There’s also a call to action on each team page where users can reach out and book them. This leads to a form that collects information from the user, which then comes through to me so that I can make the scheduling.
Our requirements specified that choosing a team and booking them should be as seamless as possible. Thrive Design included a functionality where users can have us pick a team for them if they don’t know who they want to speak to. Additionally, users can contact any person from our broader team page. The team also helped install a chat feature.
Thrive Design included a work culture highlight on our broader team page. There is a headshot of each team member on the page, and if the user hovers their cursor over each photo, they can see a funny picture of the teammate. This is our way of reflecting our work culture and personality to help facilitate connection and make client relationships more meaningful. Thrive Design recommended a photographer to capture the images for the new website.
Currently, they provide us with maintenance and consultancy services for the website. Thrive Design also helps us with website analytics and basic SEO.
What is the team composition?
Our main contacts are Noah (Founder & CEO) and Adam (Design & Development). From our side, we have four people involved, including two of our CFO partners.
How did you come to work with Thrive Design?
I wasn’t part of the initial outreach. Our director of operations looked for someone stateside so that they were in the same time zone and there weren’t any communication issues. We connected with Noah and were happy with how communication turned out, so we signed an agreement with Thrive Design. Our CEO was also a part of those first few calls.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2021. Although we had to pause around the holidays due to an uptick in the COVID-19 pandemic, our engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The site went live a few weeks ago, and we’ve already seen two prospects come through in the last week. We haven’t had to do anything; they’ve just come through. The prospect forms are our number one indicator of success, so it’s exciting to see those numbers pop up passively, thanks to the site being so friendly and functional.
In addition, we’ve noticed a spike in page views. Users are also popping in through the chat feature and asking legitimate questions about our services. Overall, working with Thrive Design has been a wonderful process, and we’ll keep collaborating with them.
How did Thrive Design perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve absolutely rocked the project management. The team is very responsive and communicative. There’s a lot of transparency with them, which we value very much. For example, if something falls out of the scope in terms of budget, they always let us know and give us the price rundown before we agree to anything.
Our main form of communication is email. We use Calendly to schedule meetings and Zoom to conduct them. They also use Loom to send videos and get points across more clearly. Since so much of the site is visual, it’s better for them to share their screen on video to explain things. We discovered Loom through them, and it’s been a game-changer for our company.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m most impressed with Noah’s drive and go-getter attitude to make the best product possible. He’s chipper, fun to work with, and easy to talk to. Throughout development, he was always optimistic about the site’s direction. He also had great persistence in getting the project past the finish line. We’ve been busy at the firm, and in the last few months of development, we needed accountability to complete the project; Noah helped us with that. Together, we busted it out and made the best product we could.
Thrive Design takes feedback to heart and makes an effort to give us exactly what we’re looking for. We had a specific vision regarding our CFO workflow that fell out of the ordinary web design. The team had no qualms about it; they were willing to make it happen and created exactly what we wanted. Plus, they had a great spirit the entire time. Overall, we’re super happy with the final product.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only constructive feedback I have is to have better communication between the leadership and the development team. During development, we would give our requirements to Noah, and he would communicate them to Adam, who was in the UK. Sometimes things would get lost in translation, and we’d have to reach back out to Noah. This wasn’t a persistent issue, though.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would recommend having a really clear idea of your vision. Although Noah can bring to life whatever you want, you need to know what that is. The Thrive Design team thrives with companies that have an identity and vision and know what they want to put out there.
Additionally, you should also be eager to get the project done. You can’t engage them and then let the project fall to the wayside; there needs to be reciprocity on both ends. I’d advise having momentum and stamina because this type of project requires work from you as a client, such as approving things and updating content.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner, founder, and one of the attorneys of a family law firm.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Thrive Design?
Our website was quite outdated, so we needed someone to provide us with SEO and web development and design services.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I contacted Thrive about giving my website a facelift and giving it a more professional structure to acquire more potential clients. We started the process by talking about content issues and redesigning other features such as our CTA.
They then started revamping our existing website through WordPress, and have implemented certain features such as an online quiz, blog page, and contacts page. We’re still working with them through their maintenance and support program to manage the platform.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact is Noah (Owner).
How did you come to work with Thrive Design?
We came across Thrive Design through a mutual friend.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent somewhere between $10,000–$15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing partnership started in February 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The look of the website has gotten generally positive feedback from anyone who has had a look at it. Additionally, the site has also been helping us significantly increase our bank deposits since its launch.
They’ve exceeded our expectations and we’re 100% satisfied with their continued work.
How did Thrive Design perform from a project management standpoint?
They perform well from a project management standpoint as they always adhere to our budget.
We typically communicate through phone, email, video conferences, and a software called Loom, a video recording tool.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’re impressed with their solid infrastructure to accomplish their tasks efficiently, and straight-forwardness.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything they need to improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would advise you to have a clear vision and as long as you know what you want, they can definitely build it and bring your ideas to life.

Thrive Design is developing and designing a new website for their security industry client. To ensure security, they built the site on WordPress and are transferring it over to static HTML and JavaScript.
Receiving a more modern design and intuitive grouping of pages, the client is pleased with Thrive Design's flexibility and communication. Their close collaboration stands out, as does their detailed, responsive, video-based communication. The instructional clips help specify meanings and decisions.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for an information security consulting firm. We provide various types of consultations to companies ranging from Fortune 100 to much smaller businesses and localized firm. The federal government contracts us as well.
We do full-scale penetration testing, security code analysis, blue team, red team, and operational support in the security sphere.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Thrive Design?
Although we’re experienced technologists, we’re not professional web developers, although some of us were in the past. We needed to modify our 3existing web content to bring a more focused, modern, and authoritative presence. Our main goal was to have Thrive modernize our website, make it look professional, sound authoritative, and help us consolidate some of our online websites. There are multiple websites, blog posts, and security advisories. They unified some of that.
They also created a number of new logos for us. In fact, that was one of our main concerns in the beginning: to modernize and improve the logo.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a lot of content on the site and already knew what kind of top-level sections we were interested in, and we have some very specific content that isn’t like what companies outside our vertical have. For example, we have a password cracking content and post the results. Additionally, we release advisories regarding the security issues we find on our clients’ sites and the steps they take to mitigate those issues. We relied on Thrive to direct us on how to integrate the content and what it should look like.
We’ve always developed and maintained our own websites because, due to our work in the security field, if we were to experience a breach then it would be incredibly embarrassing, destroying our reputation and credibility. Therefore, we need complete control over the backend technology. Not in WordPress was a pre-condition we set out, but Thrive convinced us to use WordPress anyway.
We had them design everything in WordPress and then dump all of the content and all of the backend WordPress database stuff into a single ZIP file and then pass that to us, and then we host our own WordPress server locally from there. We’re still in this process of doing this next part, but we’re using WordPress’ static HTML conversion process to turn all of the content into static HTML and JavaScript. After that’s done, we’ll push that content onto our public website. WordPress ended up being an intermediary to get us to the static content type we needed.
Regarding the logo, we provided some parameters, as we wanted to stay close to our existing color — there’s a blue we’ve been using for a long time.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Noah (CEO) pretty much the whole way through. Adam was our primary web designer, handling all of the integration and development of the content, the handoff of the WordPress archive and more. Nick did our design, including the logo, color schemes, and some of the initial page layout. Finally, they had a contractor that was going to handle our copywriting, optimizing it for search engines and web readability.
How did you come to work with Thrive Design
Although we’re not professional website developers, that didn't stop us from developing our own website in the past. We’ve been through four iterations or generations of our website, and we knew that it was time to call in some professionals. We formed a committee and internally developed a plan for what our end goals were, which initially included a good deal of Google Analytics work. We were trying to find someone who would help us to not only redesign the website but to maximize the data that we were getting from Google Analytics.
Once we put that in place, we identified some of our competitors; styles of websites that we wanted to reference. Then, casually, we tried to find web design firms that we could work with but didn't have a lot of success. I then stepped in to manage the project myself and continued to search for for styles of sites that I liked and web designers. I had four calls with potential partners before I got to Thrive and didn't have a great experience with those other options. Some of them flat out told me that we weren’t going to give them enough business to work with.
I found Thrive on Clutch. In terms of how I selected them, Noah emailed me and was very responsive to my initial request. He gave me the most honest and thorough answer to my initial contacts, sending a short 30-seconds video actively browsing our website and talking about components of it and ideas that he had. This was really great because I was able to share that with all of my colleagues on our website search committee. Thrive was pretty much universally like after that and popped right to the top of the stack.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $26,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since April 2021 and are in the final stages of hand-off, though we intend to continue working with them into the future.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We did the deliverables in four phases: the initial design phase; the intermediate development phase, which included copywriting; final back and forth (they gave us a demos site to give feedback on), and project finalization. We worked collaboratively the whole way through.
How did Thrive Design perform from a project management standpoint?
We met once month and received weekly email updates, even if there wasn’t anything finished to show us every week. They’re based in the UK, but they were very accommodating with the time difference.
Google Meet sufficed for our communication, though we used Zoom if anything went haywire with Google.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Initially, it was their communication. Noah reached out to us with that little video clip, and it really got to us. They continued to do stuff like that for us and, if I have a concern about how something works or how to how to modify it, then they’re very responsive. Those little videos make it really easy to see exactly what the layout should be and know which images to choose.
We’re a unique case in that we have highly specialized content that Thrive hasn’t ever dealt with before, and they haven’t had any problem using WordPress as an intermediate step and handing the site off to us. Noah and I went back and forth on strategies, and he has been very flexible.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When we worked with the contracted copywriter, the output wasn’t as useful for us as we’d hoped. We use very specialized language and were trying to convey a very specific tone, as we occupy an upper-tier reputation in the industry. The result was that we had to rework a lot of the content again.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be communicative and set expectations for what you’re looking for. The more concrete examples you can provide, the better foundation you can have to build the project on. In generally, they’re flexible and easy to work with, and you’ll be happy with the end product.

Thrive Design developed a clean energy company’s website to help them build more business partnerships. The client requested the site to have a mix of high-quality visuals and solid quantitative details.
The website successfully helped the company strengthen their business relationship with more partners; the site also helped them attract more talent as they expanded the business. Thrive Design was highly transparent and attentive to issues, providing timely and high-quality development services.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of MicroEnergy Credits. We work with microfinance institutions and connect them to carbon funding when they lend for clean energy.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Thrive Design?
We needed to refresh our website, so we hired Thrive. Our organization was looking for new opportunities in the carbon markets, and we truly wanted to get our story out to groups that might be interested in buying voluntary carbon credits.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, Thrive and our team had a conversation about our strategy and goals for the website. They then came back with a process proposal. Once we agreed on that, we started working on an early design for the website. The team built it, and we filled out the content. We replaced the old website with a new one that was designed from scratch.
In terms of features, we wanted to have a mix of qualitative information and emotional content combined with quantitative details. Solid facts and figures combined with photographs could help us give our audience a sense of how we worked. Combining those parallel goals was quite a complex process.
What is the team composition?
A manager handled the business side of things, so we spoke to him from the beginning to the end. However, we also mainly spoke with their designer; we had constant communication with him. I also worked with him on delivering the site’s content. A developer coded everything, but I only spoke to him once.
How did you come to work with Thrive Design?
I found Thrive via Clutch. I Googled various developers in Seattle and looked for review sites. Then, I interviewed 4–5 companies and had initial calls with a few of them. I narrowed down the list to two vendors, and I ultimately felt that Thrive was most aligned with our goals.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
This project lasted from August–November 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We achieved our goal of getting new partnerships in the carbon market; this boomed after our website went up. In other words, the website legitimized the company. We developed relationships through networking, and people went to our website to learn more or feel more confident about us. The process was effective.
Moreover, the website told our story, establishing our credibility by telling our history and accomplishments. We had a tremendous amount of business growth. On top of that, we also saw a huge uptick in good candidates and talent reaching out to us — this was one of the transformative effects of the website. We expanded our team and attracted talent through it.
How did Thrive Design perform from a project management standpoint?
Thrive’s project management was excellent. The team was transparent about the budget, and they were great at sticking to the schedule. Issues came up during the process, such as when a feature cost more or took a long time to finish. I appreciated Thrive’s ability to be transparent and flexible in relation to such issues.
Moreover, they truly had good turnaround times. We had to extend some things and experienced delays, but their timing was still great. They adapted to our processes well, and since they had transparent communication, we always worked something out to solve our problems.
To communicate, we primarily used video conferencing tools. We also sent emails back and forth, along with summaries of our conversations. We used emails for things that needed to be put in writing, while we easily scheduled video calls when necessary.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their system worked for me, and I truly enjoyed working with them. They were attentive to my needs, and the team was flexible in terms of adapting to what our company specifically needed.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there weren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you’re similar to me — you have ownership and ideas invested in the business, and you have a personal attachment to the messages you want to get across — then you should invest your time in in-depth conversations with Thrive. The team can adapt to that well; they can also work with other business styles.
For context, I achieved a lot in our engagement because I had specific ideas and requirements. Although I wasn’t sure how to implement those ideas, I had strong opinions and put a lot of work into the engagement. I communicated with Thrive to bring up such ideas and underwent a learning process as we worked — I was constantly listening and learning while investing a lot in the process.
