I’m the CEO of Onions52. We grow, pack, and ship fresh onions.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ThoughtLab?

We changed our name and needed to do a company-wide rebrand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re taking care of the design, logo, market announcements, advertising, packaging, and website (i.e., everything involved with marketing). We’ve given them full responsibility for these tasks in return for a turnkey product. They’ve also helped us a lot with writing.

What is the team composition?

There are about 10 people working on this project, including writers and website, graphic, and artwork designers.

How did you come to work with ThoughtLab?

We interviewed a number of marketing companies and felt that ThoughtLab was the most innovative. We didn’t want a status-quo project. They came in and presented themselves very well. We were hoping that they would apply divergent thinking to the project, and they have.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve invested $175,000 to $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them on this project in 2017, and the relationship is ongoing. We have a number of phases which are about 75% completed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had a 100% approval rating in the produce industry. Our company rebrand has been met with excitement. People are remembering our name, which is pretty amazing. Even now, six months later, I still meet people who remember our name because of what ThoughtLab has done.  

How did ThoughtLab perform from a project management standpoint?

They use a timeline manager which we work off of. We have the details of the project lined out and identified with target dates set. They have been accessible, responsible, and timely in completing tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We are 100% satisfied with what they’ve done for us. If I had to name one area as most impressive, it would probably discredit another area that doesn’t deserve it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any suggestions.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I suggest potential clients define their project clearly because it ended up being helpful for us. They take their work seriously, and they will walk their clients through the process of what they need to do.
