BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the country manager for Waybiller which provides an e-waybill software that allows companies to transform from paper waybills to e-waybills. We are based in Estonia and I help our clients with product consultancy and oversee business relations.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Thorgate?

We need product consultancy and development from scratch, having only the idea to begin with. We hired Thorgate for quality Python development for our software idea as well as consulting on how to take the product forward and scale it.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a working product that we could take to the market and that can help us generate revenue.

How did you select this vendor?

Waybiller and Thorgate are under the same parent company but operate independently of one another. Thorgate is also an industry leader in Estonia, so it was a rather easy decision. 

Describe the project in detail.

Thorgate helped us build everything from the scratch, they have made our platform very easy to use. Also i can recommend their designing skills.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager who we talked to regarding any issues or any ideas we had. However, we had 1 team lead, and three developers dedicated to the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within a month or so we had a clickable prototype, and we built forward from that. In 6 months we were able to bring our product to the market, and we have gotten immensely positive feedback since the launch. Thorgate is still helping us maintain the software and improve it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Deadlines were always followed, communication was smooth and easy and above all, we were always on the same page due to constant feedback from the project manager.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive thing about the Thorgate team is their knowledge about Python and the industry. Some things that made our experience positive included transparency from their end, very honest feedback on our requirements and openness to hear us out.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There might be some overhead and processes could be made faster. However, Thorgate owns it that they prefer quality over speed, and would like to ask as many questions as possible to deliver the best possible solution.
