For what projects/services did your company hire TH-EY, and what were your goals?
We hired TH-EY to build a web application that will optimize our internal workflow. We have been extensively using Microsoft Office and felt that we need to have a dedicated application in order to scale our company.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
A representative of TH-EY has contacted us on LinkedIn. The small dedicated team and price and quality delivered were deciding factors
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
When we came to TH-EY, we had an idea of what the application should do. We have provided them with the details of our current workflow. After a few workshops they have provided us with wireframes that have shown the end product as well as estimates with a breakdown. The wireframes were later used by the branding team that we hired to produce the final designs. After the final designs were ready the contract was signed and the development started. The technologies used: Java with Spring framework, React, Microsoft SQL Server Everything deployed to Azure cloud
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We’ve been communicating with the company founder regarding the ongoing development and feedback. There were 2 developers involved in the development.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The deliverables were on time and within budget and of very good quality. Due to good joint preparation in terms of defining results and technical opportunities and challenges, the basis for good cooperation and good end results was created.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We’ve been communicating mostly with one of the founders for project management. Most of the communication was through the Slack channel, and emails.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They showed commitment to our result!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the CEO and founder of Onboard ( https://onboard.careers/ ) We bridge the gap between job application and interview stages by letting candidates apply for jobs using their voice.
For what projects/services did your company hire TH-EY, and what were your goals?
TH-EY were hired to build us a custom web platform, which facilitates the whole hiring process and connects job applicants with employers.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I found TH-EY on the Clutch. The deciding factor was the cost of the development in comparison to other London-based agencies. But also I was able to talk with one of their clients, who recommended them.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
I approached TH-EY with a rough idea of what needed to be done. I had the project description and some initial wireframes. They prepared a quote based on the material I provided, and we agreed to move forward from there. At first I worked with their designer and then with the development team. After about 1 week of working on the designs, they started to develop the application. After another week I was able to click through the app, login and see the progress on the test environment. Subsequent features were delivered on a daily basis and as soon as each component was finished it landed on the test server. The frontend was done in the React framework, backend in Java. The application was deployed to the AWS environment.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I communicated mostly with the company founder - Filip, who was managing the project. But at the same time we had a slack channel, where I was able to talk directly with all the team members. The team in total was 5 people (not everybody working at the same time) including designer, developers and QA.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We now have the MVP version of the platform, which is in beta testing. Right now we are focussed on getting initial traction, validating core features and are looking ahead to raising venture capital to develop our product offering for enterprise users.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The communication was excellent, I spoke directly with the team members and had demos and calls with their manager. Project management was carried out through the Jira board, where all the tasks and requirements were described. If there were any questions or uncertainties, we discussed them on Slack, which helped us avoid misunderstandings.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
TH-EY has a proven track record and brings the lessons learned from previous projects with them to new work. The team was not only able to execute efficiently on building features for our product, but also provide advice and guidance on best practice during initial discussions.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No specific issues come to mind, overall our partnership ran very smoothly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The guys at TH-EY did a fantastic job on the Chrome extension. They are also flexible and adapt to requests and changes in scope quickly and without issue. They quickly understood my requirements and provided useful feedback to improve the solution.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
It was a good experience overall and TH-EY are easy to work with, but I would advise in future to give the customer a more structured and formal proposal of how the project will be undertaken and outcomes achieved e.g. architectural and technology choices. This will allow the customer opportunity to consider how these may impact on their business in the long term

App Development for Social Media Startup

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the co-founder of a tech startup launching a new social media platform.
For what projects/services did your company hire TH-EY?
We had a new concept for an app that we had designed and needed the application building from scratch, the product will be ever-evolving and we hope to continue working with TH-EY for a long time ahead.
What were your goals for this project?
To get what we had designed built out into an iOS application and take that product to market. Now that we have completed that process the next goal is of course to start acquiring a mass of users.
How did you select this vendor?
A good friend and UX designer we had been working with on a previous project had worked with TH-EY previously and recommended that they would be good to work with. We took a meeting with them and were very impressed with what they had to offer, naturally we had meetings with quite a few other development companies as well - all of whom seemed to focus the meetings around themselves and how much they would cost us rather than what they could do for us, TH-EY listened carefully when we explained our ideas and came back with solutions as to how they could help us.
Describe the project in detail.
Our first thing to do was propose the designs of the new concept to TH-EY so they could give us a quote for time and cost, this process really helped us distinguish what our true MVP should be. The next goal was getting said MVP built into an iOS application, we have now been live and doing constant testing for a few weeks so the next goal is to start focusing on the analytics and hopefully getting lots of users on board.
What was the team composition?
TH-EY offer us a very streamline team composition where the number of people working on the project can easily change depending on how much work we need doing and how quickly we wish to achieve that. We are in constant communication with the project manager so we know exactly what is going on each day.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
This project started from scratch and based on previous projects we had worked on we were very concerned about how long it may take to get it up and going, but there have been absolutely no issues with TH-EY, by the end of the first week of work we already had something to see and play around with in a test environment, within a month we had the whole mvp.
The product is now live, we are starting to take on our first users, we’ve been getting great feedback, we’re really happy with how TH-EY have brought our designs to life.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We are in constant communication via slack, 5 days a week, sometimes even at the weekend, responses are always fast, we are always kept in the loop. We can always have phone calls if necessary but because the slack communication is so frequent that isn’t often necessary. As well as this we can always see what work is currently being done and keep track of progress with the JIRA board.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They actually listen to our ideas, spend time thinking about them, and then come back with ideas and solutions. As well as this there have been a few things that we wanted to doing to the app that the team hadn’t worked with before and they have taken the time to do thorough research and expand their skills and knowledge so they can cater to our needs.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I think every client will always want their product to be delivered as quickly as possible, TH-EY work incredibly fast and efficiently so on the few occasions that things have taken slightly longer than expected I’ve had to take a minute to remind myself that it’s not that they are being slow, but 95% of the time they are working exceptionally fast!
It would be really great if there was always somebody working over the weekend (currently there sometimes is), but that’s just the dream world of a workaholic.

Web Development & Support for Rental Community Platform
“TH-EY is the best development company I’ve ever worked with.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Hatchpad, a PropTech software.
What challenge were you trying to address with TH-EY?
We needed someone to provide web development support.
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, TH-EY performed an in-depth analysis of our company in order to understand our business needs and problems. Their team handles our web development support and mainly does backend work. Initially, they were doing some frontend work but that changed. I have an in-house designer who generally completes the whole design and wireframe and then we give it to TH-EY to build from there.
What is the team composition?
We always talk to Wojciech (CEO) and there are two full-time individuals on the project as well as another person who helped us with the frontend UX design. He’s not currently working on our project but will probably be used again at some point in the future.
How did you come to work with TH-EY?
I met TH-EY at a networking event in London.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested about £40,000 (approximately $49,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in October 2019, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They genuinely feel like an in-house team in terms of how they add value to software building. TH-EY is the best development company I’ve ever worked with. They’re really good, and I’ve worked with huge development companies in the past. However, TH-EY is head and shoulders above other companies in terms of how much they understand the problem at hand.
How did TH-EY perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re easy to get a hold of and are always available. We use email and Slack to communicate and hold weekly calls about what has been achieved, what needs to get done for the week, and any problems that occur. Sometimes, we have demos throughout the week on new features or work they’ve done.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m impressed with how well they contribute to solving our business problems and ways around certain issues. They think outside the box on projects and even on certain features. Their team has made a real effort to understand our business and how it operates. TH-EY analyzes the problem themselves and looks for ways to do things more efficiently.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t have any criticism.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They’re mainly coders. It’d be good to have your own in-house designer. Prepare everything for them as much as possible.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the CEO of Seamless, we develop software for for hardworking garment manufacturers who believe there are better ways to spend their time than copy/pasting numbers onto Excel.
For what projects/services did your company hire TH-EY?
TH-EY has provided me with consultancy services for my previous project called “Weavenote”. They advised on the software after the previous team has left. Because they don’t specialise in Ruby on Rails, they have connected me with high quality freelancers that I was happily using for some time. Additionally, for my new project (seamless.to) they have developed a small proof of concept of a dashboard that allows me to quickly onboard new clients.
What were your goals for this project?
For the dashboard project, the goal was to have a lightweight, easily customizable solution, that I could adjust for individual client needs.
How did you select this vendor?
I met Wojciech - co-founder of the company in London via common friend in Google Campus for Startups.
Describe the project in detail.
The service provided was to create a customizable dashboard. Additionally, the software was deployed to my AWS account and I have been provided with a “How to” document as well as later support.
What was the team composition?
I was working with the Founder who has gathered all the requirements for the project and later delivered the solution.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Existing customers are happier and I are able to take on customers that need more complicated work.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I was talking directly to the founder. The communication was through emails and via Google Meetups. The project was executed smoothly in a matter of days.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They work swiftly and within budget (which I find extraordinary since I usually work with quite laughable budgets). I never received more value for my money.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They have truly walked the extra mile to make solutions to fit with our budgets, which really is the most important to us. Only praise from here.
