Analytical Weighing Balance Design
One of the main challenges of the Analytical Weighing Balance Design project is its structural design. The load cell is super sensitive and hence it has to be completely isolated from external influences. This apart, the device had to be modular such that the device can be used with or without the wind shield. Wind shields are used for extremely high accuracy requirements. Further, the weighing balance design had to to be aesthetic to stand out within its competitors in the market and also help customers build confidence in the product.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Clicksie, LLC. We develop electronic devices that use a corresponding app.
What challenge were you trying to address with TEQZO Consulting?
We were looking for help with product design.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TEQZO Consulting is providing industrial design, mechanical engineering, and prototyping services. They’re also helping us with manufacturing. They helped us turn our initial idea into something that looked like an actual product.
We were impressed by their creativity and engaged them on the app design as well. We had a basic design for it, and we wanted to make the app be completely in-sync with the hardware. TEQZO Consulting helped us come up with a nice UI/UX for the app.
Currently, they're working on the product packaging for us. We're also still in the process of discussing manufacturing.
How did you come to work with TEQZO Consulting?
We reviewed the timeline and cost proposals of a few companies. We liked TEQZO Consulting’s responsiveness and level of engagement, so we went with them.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost so far is $35,000, not including prototyping and manufacturing.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with TEQZO Consulting in April 2020, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re not out in the market, so I don’t have any metrics to capture yet, but it's been a great experience so far.
We really like TEQZO Consulting’s hardware design. They developed a lookalike/workalike prototype based on those designs. We’re confident in our ability to manufacture based on the designs.
How did TEQZO Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve delivered within the timeline and budget. They’ve had slippages of one week or so, but that hasn’t slid any deadlines for us. They always have some progress to show during our meetings.
We’re using Google Drive and other basic tools for project management. The project isn’t big enough to warrant the Atlassian suite or something similar.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They see to it that any feedback we provide them gets addressed. They always try to come up with solutions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
TEQZO Consulting isn’t the best communication-wise, but they’re above average.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Clients should make sure to communicate everything about their initial idea, and have an engaging conversation with TEQZO. It shouldn’t just be a one-way thing. They should be given enough examples and a description of the environment in which the product will operate.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a startup that builds medical devices, and I am the CEO of the company.
What challenge were you trying to address with TEQZO Consulting?
We wanted to make sure that when developing our product design aspects, we had input from someone with experience in industrial design.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TEQZO Consulting helped us turn all of the functionalities that are critical for the device’s usability by the end customer into manufacturable elements of the design. It was a collaborative effort, so in some cases, we showed them design blueprints we had come up with, and in others, we had relatively basic ideas and they helped us develop and build those out into a finished shape and form.
What is the team composition?
We worked with roughly 5–6 people from their team, including a project manager who was our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with TEQZO Consulting?
The owner of the company is a friend of mine from college. I didn’t know that he was into product design until we happened to meet at an industry event, but when I heard about his background and experience, I wanted to give it a shot. It became clear immediately that they are very good at what they do, so we have continued with them ever since.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent a little over 2 million rupees (approximately $28,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began in 2015 and is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our primary performance metric was their ability to translate all of our requirements fully into the design. That was absolutely critical for us because, in order to be credible as a medical device, we needed to make sure that all of the inputs we received from doctors and clinicians were well-considered and converted into the final product.
From that perspective, they have been very effective in hearing us out and accomplishing everything we request from them. Our internal team has been highly satisfied with the quality of their work at every stage of the project.
How did TEQZO Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve done a good job with project management as well. Given that there are multiple priorities competing at all times, we’ve had to relocate their resources frequently, and they’ve been really flexible in making that happen.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They take their work very seriously and make sure that they are always working toward the end goals of their client. As a boss, you have to be able to entrust your goals to the people working for you, and they make that very easy to do.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I think accurately allocating resources can sometimes be a little bit of a challenge, but given proper planning and execution, we were able to address all of our needs promptly, so that is just one area I think they could keep in mind going forward.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
There are very few companies who have the type of skill and expertise that the TEQZO Consulting team has, so if you are looking to complete a project in industrial design you will be hard-pressed to find a better partner. He is a tremendous resource, not just in product design, but also through his connections throughout the industry.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am one of the co-founders of TivaLife Products Pvt Ltd, a startup.
What challenge were you trying to address with TEQZO Consulting?
We needed product design help. We were aiming to build a unique product funded by the National Institute of Design.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve consulted with TEQZO Consulting for the design prototype. They’ve worked with us for the entire lifecycle of the product, from the conceptual design to supporting us at the manufacturing level. Their team has offered a few designs throughout the process. We’re currently in the proof of concept (POC) stage, and we have a few prototypes that they helped us develop.
What is the team composition?
We work with two people on a regular basis, including a project manager.
How did you come to work with TEQZO Consulting?
We are both based in Bangalore and we also had some contact with them because of the National Institute of Design funding. They have a great reputation for being one of the best, and there were some common touchpoints that we worked on with them.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent close to 10 Lakhs (approximately $14,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in November 2017, and the project is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The National Institute of Design’s design team came to review our product, and they were very pleased with the approach. Based on our milestones reports, we feel that everything is going according to plan.
How did TEQZO Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?
We include TEQZO Consulting in the high-level meetings with the institute. We’ve been pretty liberal in managing the project because there have been some conceptual changes since the beginning. They’ve worked with us through the few iterations that have happened. Although they haven’t always met our timelines, the problem comes from both of our teams.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their team is very strong—we like that they’ve capably handled the project through every stage. They’ve taken us from the conceptual level all the way to a working prototype, which not all companies do. We’re impressed with the prototypes since they look like actual functional products.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When it came to the timelines, I wasn’t always happy but I think this is in part because we don’t fully understand the whole process. It would be better if they could explain the results to us from the start so we know where we’re going.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you’re looking to make a serious product, they’re one of the best. They’re very hands-on, and you’ll get value for your money with them.
While the engagement is still ongoing and the product is not yet live, the internal team is satisfied with the results thus far. TEQZO Consulting delivers according to the set timeline and budget. The team's technical skill instills a sense of confidence in the client.
