We needed someone to provide us with custom software development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I subcontract my software development efforts to TechCells, our primary coding partner. We first went through a discovery phase to gather our requirements and needs, and have since been working on the first iteration of the data collection kiosk. They’ve done some redesign work for it and have integrated an API for stability.

They mainly use Kotlin and Java as their main development tools.

What is the team composition?

We worked with the CEO in the beginning but now, we mainly interface with an account manager and three core members of their development team.

I was looking for a company with resources that align with my needs from a technical standpoint, and came across TechCells while looking searching in Upwork.

So far, we’ve invested somewhere between $50,000–$100,000.

Our ongoing partnership started in October 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The partnership has been good, as they’re able to deliver their tasks on time. Our daily communication makes the project more seamless and efficient, so they consistently fix technical issues whenever they appear.

How did TechCells perform from a project management standpoint?

They perform well from a project management perspective, always meeting our deadlines and maximizing our budget.

We typically communicate through Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re good at assessing the project's situation, recommending the best approaches and solutions, and creating proposals. Moreover, we like how they don’t overpromise and under-deliver — they’re good at estimating their tasks and the resources needed to accomplish them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

So far, I haven’t seen any weaknesses in what they do.

my websites are quite complex with a long history and several API interfaces with my own database and other like Amazon etc. My goal was to improve internal processes for content creation as well as improving the UI / UX for users.

I have worked with several agencies and individual developers. I had a conference call with Zafar and was pretty fast convinced that TechCells was the right choice.

The website use WordPress as content management system. Some key technologies that we use are PHP, React.js and Laravel. Among other things, we did implement Algolia Search.

The team reach all our goals and could finish the project and several tasks on time.

Zafar and TechCells are always reachable and spot on, They take care everything runs smoothly and act immediately in case any issues pop up. The developers were easy to talk to and were willing to go the extra mile. They are experts in their fields.

DoubleDoor makes is easy for ordinary people (and their realtors) to buy and sell properties around the world easily and safely. I'm a cofounder, and managing product and engineering.

We had legacy codebase in the form of a web/SaaS application (browser-based) and apps in Android and Apple. We hired TechCells to take over the codebase, fix bugs, and make persistent improvements.

I had worked with Zafar on a previous project together and was pleased with the service he provided me. I was happy to see that he had since then started his own tech services company. I am glad to be working together again.

TechCells staff has been quick to pick up our existing codebase and underlying software technologies, and run with them. We are using them as our offshore engineering team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are in the early stages of our relationship but already we are seen results which please us. Many bugs have been fixed and several improvements (to our web product) have been made. Many more changes and improvements lay ahead.

TechCells has been very professional and organized in their interactions with us. All sorts of tools are used (Notion, Figma, Email) but the primary communication tool they have introduced to the mix is Microsoft Teams, the foundation, if you will.

Professionalism, negotiable/reasonable costs, fast turnaround.

We are in contact directly with TechCells on these topics. They have been responsive.

The Project manager is always available to answer any questions. We used different tools like email and Skype for communication. All our projects are tracked on Trello and all the work is done by the developer is committed to our Github library

I am the CEO of Medyear. We are a US based healthcare technology company. Medyear connects patients and doctors in a seamless and secure way, which enables them to communicate and share health records. We have iOS, Android, Salesforce, and web apps.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of Medyear is to create a seamless way for doctors and patients to communicate and share health records. Our goal is to elevate the healthcare experience. We started engaging with TechCells at the early stages of our app development, so the technical goal of the team was to launch the product on time.

I had a connection with the founder of TechCells through a different company that we worked with in the past. When I learned that Zafar is running a software company, I had no hesitation to start using their services.

Medyear connects patients to 10k hospitals and 1 million doctors in the USA. As a patient, you can search for your doctor in Medyear, download your medical records, share health records, text and video chat.

What was the team composition?

TechCells developers became part of our team. They participated in our daily meetings. They extend our team and the developers directly report to our internal managers (project/product managers at Medyear). We also communicate directly with the CEO of the company as well as the account manager (client manager at TechCells.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

TechCells developers helped us create breakthrough applications in the healthcare industry. With their help, we were on time on our deadlines, created wonderful demos and products for our audience, and raised money from different investors.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We used our internal tools for our workflow. We communicated on Slack, used Azure for DEVOPS and project management. TechCells talent were hands on in all of our daily activities and were highly effective. When we got started initially, they were quick to adapt to our internal environment.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They technical expertise is amazing. Developers are quick and responsive all the time.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They have been wonderful all the time. The only thing I can think of right now isthat I would love them to have nearshore presence in US so we can hire some in-house developers in the future. Also, some of their developers should improve their English.

Choosing Techcells was the right fit for us. Right away, we got into discussing the functionality and design of our web app and within a couple of weeks, a flowchart and sketch were made. Every step of the development was discussed and shared.

I spoke with the project manager and he found the talents working on my web application and smart wearable integration. We use Trello to see and communicate regarding the progress and development.

We kept close contact with the project manager and he update us on a regular basis. Prior to any step taken, we see the design and full explanation of the features.

The project manager update us on a timely schedule. We see when each milestone is expected to be done and what steps of the process are being worked on. We used Trello to track the project and Telegram to communicate.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and progress made by the team.

I’m the owner of Tophelpers, a moving platform where customers can book moving companies online.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechCells?

We needed help with building our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

TechCells has developed and designed our website from scratch using WordPress. They are currently working on implementing six features, including the login, review, and coupon pages.

Our website allows customers to book a mover online. When they open the first page, they need to input their zip code and the moving date. Then, they choose local or long-distance movers.

What is the team composition?

We work with at least 10 people from their company, including designers, a production manager, and four developers.

How did you come to work with TechCells?

A friend of mine recommended them to us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $140,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2021, and our engagement is still ongoing.

We’ve already published the website and noticed a consistent increase in traffic — more customers have been booking moving companies.
