Our partnership began with a call to talk about our business, our needs, and a presentation of our existing app. During the primary stage of the project, Team Rainmakers worked on coding the frontend of the app in Xamarin. They also collaborated directly with our internal development team to utilize backend API and make sure that everything was cohesive. After the initial development phase, we reviewed their work and gave our feedback.

We worked with two people from their team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Team Rainmakers fixed all bugs in the app. It now works on all platforms without any problems.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was via Skype and email, and they were quick to respond. While all of the documentation of our original app was in Danish, Team Rainmakers works a lot with Danish customers so it wasn’t a problem. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their team was very flexible. They knew what to do, even when dealing with complicated tasks and a lack of proper documentation. I had no issues with their work.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Sometimes I wanted to get the results faster.

Team Rainmakers developed our CRM platform with a UX/UI that new employees can operate after a short training. Their team handles everything, from development, requirement management, and QA. They finished a portion of the work and will complete the platform at a later date.

Their team helped implement a software product that affected the idea of business development. The first portion of the work was done on time and within budget — our employees have begun using the software, which has dramatically reduced time expenditures.

The process has been incredibly smooth. I had scheduled meetings frequently where I always had my questions effectively answered.

We had several vendors on the table. It wasn't difficult to choose TRM because they were the best in every category. The board of the company and the other parties involved agreed that TRM was the way to go.

They've produced the apps from scratch. The backend was already running, so they focused on usability and accessibility. We gave them documentation, including feature and functionality descriptions, and chose a technology that aligned with our general business strategy.

They deliver in milestones so that we can implement smaller elements and scale up once all the features are ready. The app is still in development as new ideas emerge. 

What was the team composition?

TRM was completely responsible for choosing the project team, but we have only positive feedback for the members and their skills. The size ranges from one to five and consists only of the necessary resources.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The workers that use the app daily come from a non-technical background, but have switched from pen and paper to the mobile app in three months with only one education session. That's because of of the usability logic that TRM placed in the app.

We were looking to create an informative website about the services our company provides. We also wanted to connect potential customers with our managers via contact form.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were considering a service company that we’d worked with in the past, but we decided to work with TRM to compare their quality of customer service and team dynamic.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

We started with visual design. They used a freelance designer who worked as needed, but the work was lacking a few elements with regard to UX perspective and responsive behavior of suggested visual elements. The frontend team then started an HTML prototype, and they were extremely efficient. We’ve had two rounds of user acceptance testing (UAT) thus far.

Our requirements for the site were very precise, which led to a smooth development process. I was really impressed with the back-end solution that the TRM team suggested, which is called Umbraco. It’s a very flexible and powerful CMS that met our needs perfectly. We hosted the site on their servers, and launch was incredibly smooth. We’ve also released the second iteration of the site, which was enhanced with improvements to responsiveness, multilingual accessibility, and custom content management solutions for the new pages.

We worked with a project manager, a designer, a backend developer, and a frontend developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We haven't started promoting the website yet, so I don't have any analytics to share as of yet. However, we now have a solid and accurate representation of our services online.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We were pleased with the development process, the speed of delivery, and the efficacy of communication. We have a task-tracker and milestone planning organized by a project manager on GitHub, and communicate primarily on Slack.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They’re a young and dynamic team that helps their customers find solutions to complex problems at an affordable price. Even with some scope creep, they’ve maintained their initial quote. Their level of involvement and results-based approach were key to the project’s success.

They should hire an internal designer and improve their frontend strategy according to best practices. They could also have more accurate estimates and improved risk management.
