Please describe your company and your position there.

We are Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) and I am the project lead and originator of the idea for this mobile app.

For what projects/services did your company hire TADCO, and what were your goals?

Forensic KOP Shop (Knowledge of Protocols) is a mobile app, that was initially funded by the Public Service Innovation Fund 2020, that aims to provide the customers of Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) with a simple, user-friendly digital platform to access knowledge and correct procedures for collecting and packaging items for testing in FSI.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

As newcomers to the development of a mobile app we were looking for an app development company that was the right fit for our project. Out of a group of several possible candidates considered, TADCO impressed from the very beginning and quickly established themselves as the leading candidate for the project.

TADCO provided invaluable advice and guidance from the early design and development stages of the app, right through to the final build. TADCO is customer focused, was accessible and responsive to our needs as first-time app developers, and went above and beyond our expectations in the level of support it provided throughout the whole project.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

After an initial scoping of the project needs with the expertise provided by TADCO we were presented with a wireframe detailing the flow of the app, a list of proposed app features, and solutions provided by TADCO regarding the most advantageous way forward regarding the frontend and backend of the proposed app. We recieved a breakdown of each key deliverable of the project, and a clear upfront pricing structure and terms.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We primarily worked with a single point of contact (a senior team member of TADCO as project manager), and occasionally other staff (developers) for more technical discussions. We were always aware that a wider team from TADCO were working on various aspects ofthe project to bring it to life. The single point of contact worked very well for us and gave us a clear line of communication throughout the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We saw an idea jotted down on paper come to life and become a reality through the support and guidance of TADCO. We found TADCO to be customer focused, accessible and responsive to our needs as first-time app developers.

They frequently went above and beyond our expectations in the level of support it provided throughout the whole project. Each milestone was reached and a comprehensive review carried out before moving on to the next stage. This gave us confidence in the process and we saw the mobile app developing and progressing with each passing milestone.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project manager was easy to work with, knowledgeable and clearly communicated what was possible and what was not possible at any given stage. This provided clarity and confidence in the process. Communication was by email, phone and online meetings as required throughout the course of the project. The availability of TADCO for our needs was a positive during the development of this mobile app.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

TADCO impressed from an early stage and we were in capable hands from the start. Their technical knowledge was invaluable in providing timely, practical solutions to the proposed app features. This saved us time and helped keep the project on track.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

TADCO excelled across a number of measurables i.e. technical knowledge, timelines, value for money, easy to work with, etc., so on balance TADCO were the right fit for our project and we worked well together.

I am the COO of Flexibod. We have developed a sports chair for athletes who work. Our company design and manufacture products for sports enthusiasts. I head up Sales and Marketing

We hired TADCO to develop both iOS and Android apps for our product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

TADCO managed the entire development process from development to project management. 

What is the team dynamic?

On the team we had backend developers, iOS and Android developers, QA and a Project Manager. We communicated with a dedicated Project Manager who managed the development process for us. 

How did you come to work with TADCO?

We got quotes from three different companies and we based our decision on cost, communication, quality and previous projects undertaken.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project is complete. TADCO successfully developed iOS and Android apps, along with a web admin panel for us to manage the app users, content etc. We plan to launch into app stores once our product is ready to for market. We continue to work with TADCO to manage our apps and provide support into the future

How did TADCO address the challenges that arose?

As this was a project heavy on detail, we faced a few challenges along the way but Daragh and the team at TADCO went the extra mile to deliver. As our budget was limited, they worked with us to ensure we were able to get a quality application for a lot less than market rate. They also helped us with a grant application.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

We now have a fantastic app on iOS and Android and are looking forward to launching our product in the near future. The apps supplement our product and will help to improve the user experience, while providing an improved value proposition to our customers.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

They were able to overcome complex development issues with ease. If any issues arose, TADCO had our back and worked through it. 

In what specific areas can they improve?

Due to the fixed cost nature of the agreement, the project was delivered on budget. We changed the scope in the early stages so this had an impact on overall spend. As the project was quite detailed, it was necessary for us to spend time checking each milestone as we received it but this is part of the process.

Feedback summary:

TADCO finished the project. Despite the app not being launched yet, the client was pleased with its design. Although the team could improve in terms of cost-effectiveness, it was still a successful partnership.

How did you select TADCO?

We got quotes from three different companies and we based our decision on cost, communication, quality and previous projects undertaken.

Describe the project in detail.

We sent mockups of our design through InApp which TADCO were then able to use to develop the App. The App development was broken down into milestones. At the end of each milestone, we would review the development for that milestone and provide feedback. We generally found that there was on average 6/7 areas that needed further work from each milestone. These areas would be incorporated into the development of the next stage and so on.

What was the team composition?

We had a project manager within TADCO who then worked with the developers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app has not launched yet but it is finally looking like a really nice.

We are a TV production company and I am the managing director.

To create an App for our TV show Operation Transformation

What were your goals for this project?

The TV show has a web based online platform. We wanted to enhance the user experience and create additional tools by building an app for smart phones.

How did you select this vendor?

We used the company before and we were very happy with the outcome.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

This project had a very limited time with a very real deadline. The company moved very quickly from design layout to then producing a phototype for testing and then launch. As the App was connected to a very popular TV show we had to work with the company following the launch to make sure the high level of traffic did not take away from the user experience.

What was the team composition?

Our team was the executive producer of the TV show and the social media producer.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The app has help us extend the brand of the show. How the app was used has also informed us on next steps.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Clear timelines were set. Everybody knew our deadline was real and could not be pushed back so that helped speed up decisions. We kept regular contact with the developers over the production and launch period.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were able to deliver a product in a short time, they work in partnership with you and it feels like everybody is on the same team. Very important when the deadlines are tight.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always room for improvement. The level of traffic this App received was very significant and I think everybody will be better prepared for that next time.
