Introduce your business and what you do there.

Jobpose is an online job board which can be described as a Tinder for hiring. It allows users to swipe through profiles with photos, and look at all the details of a potential applicant. I am the CEO of the company.


What challenge were you trying to address with Symphony Solution?

We had an idea at the time and reached out to Symphony Solution with no product at all. We were a group of salesmen with no technical background.


What was the scope of their involvement?

Symphony Solution built our platform from scratch; from the website to the iOS and Android apps. They guided us through the process. We have a standalone Clover POS integration and are currently entering our third credit-card processor. Symphony Solution built a matching algorithm for the site, which was based on my concepts. They also took care of the entire backend and database, as well as the frontend development. A different company took care of the design.

The app is free for job seekers, but we charge employers. Symphony Solution built our billing system and integrated it with our credit card processing interface.

Symphony Solution wasn't involved in any of our marketing, but, from a strategy standpoint, they did bring in some HR expertise. They provided input into actual features they wanted to see, the legality of our processes, and so on. Symphony Solution did similar work in the past, and they used that knowledge in our project.

I mainly had a single point of contact from Symphony Solution and had occasional interactions with one of their other project managers.

How did you come to work with Symphony Solution?

I found Symphony Solution through a referral from a friend who had worked with them in the past. We quoted at least four other companies but chose Symphony Solution because they were amazingly competitive, and had built a hundred other apps. They also had an HR background.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Symphony Solution in 2014. We've made several changes to the platform during this time and launched it in April 2017. We continue to use Symphony Solution for updates and maintenance.


Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

People come to our site and seem to like it. We're converting traffic at a very high rate. We have healthy stats for a young company, based on industry averages. I think that this is an obvious attribute to Symphony Solution's work as well.

How did Symphony Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

Symphony Solution performed well regarding deadlines. We've had to connect them with other vendors in certain areas, and they were always waiting for the other person, and not the other way around.

Are there any areas Symphony Solution could improve?

Since Symphony Solution is an overseas company, I can't get issues fixed in the same day without spending a lot more money. Other than that, I have no complaints about Symphony Solution. On the one occasion our site went down, Symphony Solution got people out of bed and working on it.
