We needed a partner to build the application.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Customers can use the app to request someone to come wash their car. The app uses location services to know where the customer and the service provider are. We had the wireframe and idea, and Symbyotic Technologies Inc built the native apps from scratch for both Android and iPhone.

What is the team composition?

We worked with the project manager.

How did you come to work with Symbyotic Technologies Inc?

One of their past clients referred me to them. We talked about the project and decided they’d be a good fit.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August 2017–April 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app isn’t live yet since we’re still working on marketing. We’re incredibly happy with their work, though.

How did Symbyotic Technologies Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

They worked well as a team and had good communication. The project manager did an excellent job and kept the project quick and efficient. We mainly communicated via Slack but also did phone and video calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re knowledgeable and coded the app incredibly well. I’ve worked with other developers who’ve produced lots of bugs and other issues, but we didn’t have any problems with Symbyotic Technologies Inc. The project went smoothly.

Trust their knowledge and expertise. If you let them, they’ll make suggestions to improve your app’s functionality.

We wanted to maintain the viability of our legacy code without burning time and budget for the development of new code.

We chose them based on their depth of experience and ability to understand our requirements quickly.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

Our legacy application interacts with other software that needs periodic upgrading, which requires server migration and legacy code changes. The managers and developers responsible for the original code were no longer available, so in order to migrate and update the legacy code, it had to be reverse engineered and altered to work within the updated software.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a single senior engineer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Without the ability to upgrade the existing code our enterprise would not have been able to maintain viability while developing replacement code. Symbyotic’s timely and successful legacy code maintenance allowed us to maintain viability while developing new code, all within our budget.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Change orders, expected outcomes, and timelines are shared on an as-needed basis. Communication with the developer has been very effective, and specifications are easily understood and followed. The developer's suggestions for improvement have been very helpful as well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Having dealt with many vendors in the past, this has been one of my best experiences. Their communication and ability to understand and meet requirements effectively and within budget has been terrific.

Since we focused heavily on debugging and fine-tuning after development was completed, we were able to make a bug-free mobile application.
