We wanted them to develop our news website together with having Ads on the website and insights (Google Analytics) we could use to show to our clients. The website was to not only load fast but also be mobile friendly and interactive.

We were given a referal by one of their clients, we were able to look at some of the projects they had done and were confident that they would be in a position to implement the website which they did.

1. Design of the Website We were looking for a modern but easy and appealing look and feel. They did a fantastic job in this regard
2. Mobile Ready Most of the users in Kenya use their mobile phones to access the internet and it was pertinent that the website is mobile friendly.
3. Traffic We not only wanted a functional and good looking website but one which was able to manage the load we could be getting in the long time.

We worked with three people in this project one was the Web Developer the other was the front-end designer and the last one was the project manager who was also managing the server/database.

We were able to have physical meetings but most of them were online using the teleconferencing tools. Our intention was to have the website ready in one month and they were able to achieve that.

They made us proud, I don't think there's anything to add.

Like many app hailing services, TissBoda comes in at a time when innovation and technology is providing the means to solve everyday problems. In line with the government’s Big 4 agenda (Kenyan Government) to provide universal health coverage. My name is Kelly and I am the CEO.

TissBoda which is a Motorcycle Hailing App has come up with a solution that would provide the customer with an Added Value, from a deduction of 10% of the customer’s cost of riding towards their NHIF medical insurance cover in Real Time.

We picked Symatech Labs after looking at their portfolio, they were also affordable.

Integration of the National Hospital Insurance Fund to the Mobile Application after the users make payment for the service. They used the Java Programming Language.

We worked with one person directly but there were two people who were in copy of some of the conversations. The person we were in direct contact with was the Full Stack Developer.

Integration of National Hospital Insurance Fund to the Mobile Application was quite an achievement.

Symatech was able to translate our idea into exactly what we wanted. Also they advised in the areas where we needed clarity.

They shared a time schedule before we started on the project and we usually communicated on email in regards to the progress. The approach was very consultative and they were keen to get our input as we progressed. We were able to finalize the project in time, just as they had specified.

We wanted a marketing tool that would allow Brands/Companies to have their products and services shared by social media users who are later on rewarded for doing the same. Symatech Labs was able to implement what we wanted.

We shortlisted companies who we thought we could work with and after reviewing the capacities, we decided to go with Symatech.

For a very long time we wanted to have a tool that would be able to connect Brands/Companies with their customers. An idea come up from a member of our team which we thought was brilliant.

That is when Symatech came to the picture and developed the Web App that would allow Brands/Companies to have their products and services shared by social media users who are later on rewarded for doing the same.

We worked directly with two members from their team, the Quality Assurance and Web Developer.

We have managed to seek funds to enable us roll out the product as the prove of concept to the funders went very well.

I would say that Symatech was very detailed when they were gathering the requirements. From their they sent us a technical proposal which had the timelines involved. Communication with them was very good and I think that's why we were able to finish before the scheduled deadline.

At the moment we have not seen anything that they need to improve.

What were your goals for this project?

To have a mobile application that can connect a prospective customer to taxi driver together with having an administrative capability to manage the same.

How did you select this vendor?

I was looking online when I saw their portfolio on their website and I got the sense that they will be able to deliver. I was very confident when we meet the first time, they were able to understand exactly what I want.

They provided us with a Technical Proposal which we went through. From that they commenced on building the solution, they did it from scratch if I can add that. They also run tests to ensure all was well before finalising and deploying.

There was a dedicated person for the Mobile App Development who worked hand in hand with a Designer, a Web Application Developer, a Database and Server management person.

We have been able to onboard drivers easily as they find the Mobile Application easy to use.

It was collaborative and very timely. I think they wanted us to be part of the development cycle which I really liked

I’m the executive director of a nonprofit agency called AOLaw Africa that doubles as a human rights organization. We also do a lot of legal tech work.

What challenge were you trying to address with Symatech Labs Ltd?

We needed a custom-made practice management solution to be used both internally, as well as externally for legal professionals like ourselves. We needed a secure communication platform where we could have direct interactions with other lawyers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Symatech Labs Ltd developed a mobile and web app for us. From scratch, their team built the secure platform, which facilitates communication between lawyers. Allowing them to access notices quickly, the platform connects lawyers with the judiciary, too. They integrated features such as a cost calculator based on the Kenyan billing platform. Their team was instrumental in the app’s launch, helping to make it accessible in the Google Play Store. Symatech Labs Ltd captured all the features we’d imagined for the product.

A colleague recommended them. We’d been let down by two previous vendors who didn’t really understand what we wanted. We spoke to three other firms but decided to partner with Symatech Labs Ltd because their team seemed to best understand our complex industry.

We spent around $5,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between November 2018–May 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our downloads have been skyrocketing. As the first of its kind, users have been impressed by the app, appearing to be even happier than we are. We’ve even gotten positive feedback from the Kenyan judiciary for the platform’s timely innovation because there’d been some serious communication barriers between them, practitioners, and the legal field.

Their team has made our work much easier to do with the automated system. Previously, we lost a lot of data and time because we’d use handheld books; a lot of important deadlines were missed. Since they developed this app for us, we’ve been perfect internally.

How did Symatech Labs Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated by email and a dedicated WhatsApp group to connect in real-time regarding day-to-day tasks. We spoke on the phone occasionally, too.

Symatech Labs Ltd completed tasks way ahead of schedule. We were impressed with their team’s management abilities— performing beyond our expectations. The entire project was handled professionally, remaining available and responsive throughout the project. Their team reached out all the time.

Symatech Labs Ltd handled the project as true professionals, which differentiates them from other firms. Their team had the ability to understand all of our ideas. Even though they aren’t experts, they developed a deep understanding of the complex legal concepts that were part of the platform. Working with Symatech Labs Ltd was a wonderful experience.

VetHub also acts as a business directory for veterinary related businesses as well as provide a platform where all veterinary related products can be sold within kenya.
