BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the lead pastor at Communion Church. We launched a little over a year ago in San Diego.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Sygnal Studios?

Since the church was new, we needed to lay the foundation with a brand identity and website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I met with Zach (Creative Director, Sygnal Studios) and discussed the church’s mission. We tailored the branding toward our mission and vision. Starting with nothing, Zach helped us develop a logo, going through different logo styles, typefaces, and color schemes. Before launching the church, we formed our brand identity, then Zach built our website on Webflow. There was back and forth with Zach on what information and graphics we should include. We gave him an idea of what we wanted. He provided wireframes, and then we made adjustments as needed during the process.

Zach was our primary contact.

How did you come to work with Sygnal Studios?

We had mutual friends. They suggested that Zach and I meet up.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Sygnal Studios between September–October 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Web traffic has been excellent. Users are getting connected because of the ease of our site. Everyone internally is satisfied.

How did Sygnal Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

Zach is a fantastic communicator. He was upfront with his expectations. While we were working through our branding identity and website, he was always a text or email away. We used Slack for a lot of our communication because of the amount of information we were dealing with. Everything in the project was managed exceptionally.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Sygnal Studios identifies key themes and turns them into creative content. Zach has a keen ear for listening and piecing aspects together. He has a real artistic vision, so his input was valuable throughout the engagement.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Working with Zach has been great. In the beginning, it was a challenge to figure out personalities, but there’s nothing that needs improvement in our perspective.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients should have clear foundational pieces in place. I think the beginning of branding journeys can be a bit confusing if the core components of your goals and vision aren’t in place. Having those foundational pieces together is helpful for Zach. He can come in and nail down a logo and brand identity that you’ll be pleased with.
